So they brought the show back with only a few of the characters or most of the cast? And what exactly is the premise? They brought it back as a weekly. The first season has ten episodes. If it successfull, they will produce more episodes. And it looks like it is successfull, at least episode 1. The first episode is on TVNow for just 2,5 days now and is already among the most watched shows, there. So given that it is a weekly, the cast is smaller. But in addition to the eight main cast members, I counted another eight or so supporting cast member with significant screentime in the pilot episode, so not that much smaller. From the old cast, five actors were back for the new series in the pilot episode: Jo Weil as Olli, Gabriele Metzger as Aunt Charlie, Wolfram Grandezka as villain Ansgar von Lahnstein, Claudia Hiersche as Ansgar's sister Carla and Isa Jank as villainess Clarissa van Anstetten (who was the original series-villainess and one of the most famous soap characters in Germany, her role within VL not dissimilar to Alexis Colby from Dynasty). Others could very well follow. Out of these five, Olli and Ansgar were credited as main cast and the others had supporting roles, though Clarissa a very important one, as could have been guessed. The centre of the new series is the New-rich Verhoeven family. The von Lahnstein's went into bankrupcy, and the Verhoeven's bought the family castle, which Ansgar wants to get back. The family consists of: - Heinz Hoenig as the patriarch Robert Verhoeven, who may either be a villain or just a strict and somewhat old-fashioned businessman. It is not clear from the very first episode. Heinz Hoenig is actually a very famous actor in Germany, having roles in many famous productions, including "Das Boot". (His English wiki entry is not complete, but even this has a long list of productions: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heinz_Hoenig ). That they got him is quite a coup, though it has to be admitted that he was more absent in TV in the most recent years. - Stephanie Japp as Robert's wife, Eva, who has a secret. - Livia Reinhardt as the daughter Livia. A tough businesswoman, but at least so far no bitch (it's somewhat hard to judge after one episode, of course). - Frederik Götz as son Alexander Verhoeven, who is more modern than Robert and regularly has rows with him. - Lennart Betzgen as son Paul Verhoeven, the enfant terrible who loves to shock his family. He's gay and clearly built up as a love interest for Olli. I have to admit that I didn't like him much in episode 1, but this is just my opinion of course and might also be about getting used to such an eccentric character. The final main cast member, aside from Ansgar, Olli and the five Verhoevens is Sina Zadra as Josefin Reinhard, who is a love interest of Alexander Verhoeven. Among the supporting cast is Martin Walde listed, who some of you might know from Lindenstraße or Alles was Zählt. Though I either missed him in the first episode or he didn't appear yet.

Couldn’t they find a more compatible, age appropriate guy for Ollie? They just don’t match.

Christian couldn't stop sleeping with women though. It felt to me like Olli was never going to be enough for him.
And I can't blame the blonde twink Paul for being this thirsty for a silver fox daddy Jo Weil. And vice versa - Olli clearly looks like he's ready to snack, despite playing hard to get. If the twink gets the intended character development, they get to know each other and his feelings become more sincere and caring, Olli won't be able to resist and then I think they'll be cute (and hot) together. Age differences and dynamics like theirs are a stereotypical norm in gay culture, so I disagree they aren't compatible. They're both adults.
I'll be checking out the clips, please keep posting them.

I thought they said he was gay, but like daleeryohm mentioned above he couldn't stop sleeping with women I always thought they were both bi, but Olli leaned more towards boys and Christian leaned more towards girls. And they were great loves for each other, but Christian just couldn't stay faithful.

I'm really not feeling Ollie and that twink they are setting him up with. Guess I'm just hoping one day Christian will come running back

I feared they would run into the usual problem where fans don't want to accept any other pairing except their ship (the same thing has happened far too many times with gay ships, with ultimately negative results for gay representation). I personally was not wedded to the Ollie/Christian ship - in fact I think Ollie would be a complete doormat to take Christian back after all the betrayals - but even I consider it ill-advised to make Ollie's alternative love interest age inappropriate.

What my problem is for the moment, I dont know, why Paul wants something from Olli, only because Olli, says no? And also in the other way round, there is not so much backround desire. The chemistry is good, between them, but for now only a bit desire from Paul to Olli, its more a curiosity from Paul to Olli, otherwise I see nothing, I think I miss the sparkless. In the descripton, it was saying because Paul makes everything that his father hates, he want to make his father crazy, like a rebellious teenager, but for the coming realationship, I dont see it. My opinion, I think it had be better, that way, that Paul plays gay, because Daddy hated it, but he self diddnt really were gay, and than fell in love with a man to his own surprise, but its also a lot of refreshing, that we see no comming out, because both are outed.
But the whole show, is to my own surprise, really good, better than I thought, it will. Back to the roots. Its real Soapy, a good quantity of jokes to laugh, and mostly all relationsships are to be, forbidden love, morraly wicked loves, like agedifference, Twins, and so on. What I dont like is the mother, of the Paul, I think she is to weak, a woman with more power, would be better.
And my thought, Clarissa is soapy so not dead, we see not her dead body.
About the gay represantation, or the LGBT+ representation. I would not think so, that we must have here to think about it, that they will be reduced, especially the pay streaming service. I think the streaming service TV-Now, sets a lot of hope for paying gays, women that likes watching gays and lesbian and sits in the gap, the other big private broadcast which has released the space of the gap. It was a little surprising that the other big player, Pro7Sat1 after Mister Raab, a big entertainer is gone in the retirement, they make the broadcast and special the streaming service a lot less gayfriendly, the content with hundrets of LGBT titles was in 1 Month all gone, because they wanted to be more family friendly. But they also dont make a lot of money with TV broadcasting anyway today now. They expand to a lot of Internet Startups, that become big players in germany in their category, like Price comparison, or a sextoyshop and so on. So RTL fills now that gap, with mostly self produced LGBT Content, specially in the streaming client, like also a gay version of the bachelorette, in the second season.
By the way, the actor from Switzerland, that played the straight tattoo guy Sasha, in the old days, which Olli has an Onenightstand in the tub, with the line: "It was like a car accidend, I cant look a way". He was in the second season of the gay bachelorrete, Prince Charming, and he has now, a lot of more tattoos and piercings than in the past.

Oh wow, didn't know they were doing more with this show. Also, how does Ollie continue to get hotter with age?! Hope I grow older that gracefully.

Loved it! Thank you so much. Subscribed to the channel, lol.
They're absolutely adorable and well-suited together. There's no Christian baggage, and it just feels very at ease and natural. The chemistry and attraction is perfect. I'm very happy for Olli. This feels like something he always deserved. Paul is genuine and funny and loving and lovable, and took to Olli having a daughter as well as anyone his age and with his freedoms could hope. The hottest Jo Weil's ever been, btw. The salt-and-pepper, the literal daddy energy lol, the unshaved chest, that leather jacket. And it's all just so believable feeling and naturally played between him and Lennart. Maybe that's the real reason it was always so difficult with Christian: they were both tops and one of them was truly straight. Was never going to work.
Anyway, I hope people give them a chance, and that the show gets the continue. I don't want any drama for them ever! Lol. But aren't soap relationships always ruined eventually? Maybe it would be better for Olli's story to end here on a HEA note with Paul and Ella.

Yes, Ollie is hotter than ever and looks so darn good but this is not a good fit. Nothing about them screams hot or compatible. As I’ve stated before, Ollie needs someone older and more mature, he’s now a dad which is a good look for him. Find him another partner cause I don’t think this will end well.

New clip is up, and Ollie's gonna make me cry! Paul has him love drunk - he's just all big warm blue eyed stares and smiles and devouring kisses and is so smitten and happy and it makes me absolutely melt to see. This is my comfort ship for the time being, lmfao.
I will be FURIOUS if this rebooted show cheapens itself and trashes them for the sake of drama. Is that what anyone needs right now? And why do it to Ollie again when VL's been given this 2nd chance and after everything Ollie's been through and when he's been matched up so perfectly, finally.
My feeling of the direction they're going is Ollie could propose any minute, lol. He's falling fast. So I worry he'll get too serious too soon and Paul will feel overwhelmed and panic. And then it'll all come down to how that's handled.
