How will Max/Iago's story continue. . .

I started this thread to discuss the future of Max/Iago's lovestory and how their story will evolve.

I felt Max and Iago's last episode, and especially the last scene, left a few possibilities.

First, I want to say that I felt it was so out of character for Max to just up and leave. Yes, I think he is going through a form of post tramatic stress syndrome. I get that Max feels:

--guilty for Clara being in jail.

--frustrated that he can't get Clara out of jail and she wouldn't let
him help her. Also, everyone telling him to let it go and abide by
her decision.

--awful that he is pushing the people he loves the most away.

--the need to put the whole Chus incident in the past.

However, I can't see him just up and leaving without a second's thought regarding Iago's feelings and leaving him behind.

I'm still going back and forth in thinking Max went to Africa vs. staying in Catalunya, but out of sight.

Max said he "decided" to go to Africa, not he joined up and was leaving. Iago pleaded with him stay. He (Iago) would do the impossible. . .get Clara out of jail. He would talk to Clara and convince her to see the lawyers Max hired.

Iago's last line to Max was, "But Max, don't leave." The look on Max's face after he said that was priceless. I think Iago may have convinced him to stay.

The next scene we see Iago going to see Clara in prison. At first Clara is very defensive. "What is the emergency. . ." Iago started with "Clara. ." She interrupted him by saying if Max sent him to convince her to see the lawyers then he wasted his trip." I think that is when he changed his approach and told her, "Max is gone. I couldn't do anything to stop him and I don't know when he's coming back." To me, the look on Clara's face was one of shock and 'Oh my God, what have I done."

So here is my possible theory: Iago convinced Max to stay. However, they decided that Max has to stay hidden (where I don't know). Iago has to act like Max left for real and act the way he is right now. They want to make sure Clara is convinced that Max is really gone so she'll end up hiring a lawyer and get herself out of prison.

They also decided to make it look like Iago got dumped by Max. Of course, he is going to be angry and upset. He is also going to be moving out of Beni's house. . .because the memories of Max are too painful. **However, I wonder if Max is living with the Squatters! Of course, we won't see him live there. . .until the big reveal! ** He is going to live with the squatters, because Max is there. That was a place where both Max and Iago were happy and at peace. I think the time with the Squatters and the love of Iago will give Max a time to heal. In the meantime, Clara will be working on getting herself out of jail.

If Max did go to Africa, I think he stayed long enough to make Iago understand. I also think Iago made a promise to him that he would do what he had to to get Clara out of jail, so Max could return home.

What does everyone else think? I would love to hear your ideas.

That's what I thought before the e-mail Marc Clotet adressed to Juanjo. That Max is hidden somewhere, and squatters is a good election. I thought this last monday, when Iago left suddenly the fruit/ veg. stand and reapeared at churreria (that is open all the night) telling a joke to Beni, smiling and talking about missing Max, remembering when he visited him in jail and talking about sleeping in Max's bed without Max.

But Marc Clotet assured Max is gone to Africa, I think. Juanjo's interpretation of his e-mail is that Max is in Africa all the season, and (we dont forget him because, this is my opinion) we will see Iago all the season. Mark says in his mail that many things will happen to Iago, several of them will be nice ones. And talks about a light at the end of a tunnel, a brilliant end (for them, their characters, o for us, their fans?).

In fact, Marc says in his e-mail he insist in remain all this season in the series. That's very important. He likes his character Iago (and also his character Pau, the police in "El comisario"). He knows now the two faces of the law!

I wander what will be this "brilliant" end. It seems that Max& Iago will be also in the next end season. Doing what? I dont know.

A information I think is important about being Max in Mozambique is that he mencioned the Clinic Hospital in Barcelona. And just in Mozambique, a doctor from this hospital is testing a vaccine against malaria.

I'm still on the fence as to where Max really is.

Maybe Max was able to convince Iago that he needs to go to Africa to heal his soul/spirit. However, he will always carry Iago in his heart.

Marc's interview a couple weeks ago: It was mentioned that Iago was going to be unfaithful. Marc V was shaking his head yes and Marc C said No. I believe Marc C! Call me naive, but I can't picture Iago being unfaithful to Max. I can see Max in a heavy disguise and doing chance meeting with Iago. People may see glimpses of him with Iago and think Iago has moved on with someone else. In reality, it will be Max. Just a thought.

I also think that once Iago's parole and/or he's aquitted he will join Max, wherever he may be. . .Africa? I think Max and Iago also talk about that possibility before he leaves.

In the meantime, Iago's job is to get Clara out of jail. . .for Max's sake!

"The Dream Scene" for Max/Iago it more like a damn nightmare!

Meidofan: You are right about Max's prep time before going to Africa. In the real world, it can't happen overnight. I also can't picture Iago as a vegetable seller. When they mentioned it on Marc's interview, I said, "What!" I don't foresee him staying with that job for any length of time. I'm wondering what happened to this other job?!

Carmela: I'm glad Iago will be staying on the show for the current season. I wonder what good things will happen to him. A better job/business opportunity? Being aquitted? Max coming home? Yes! Success in clearing Clara for Max? Iago-Beni form a close father/son bond? Iago's dad comes to town?

I'm also glad that Marc is still optimistic about Max/Iago's love. In his interview and e-mail, he has stated that their love is still very strong.

Now I have a question: If Max is in Africa and they had a plan to get Clara out of jail. How are they going to communicate with one another, since Iago is suppose to mad for Max's leaving? It would seem strange that Iago is getting mail from Max.

I have a basic idea of for a Max/Iago fanfic; however, I don't think I can do their story justice.

Oscar and Beni conversation: Beni tells Oscar Max was suppose to leave on Friday and no one has heard from him since. **He could be anywhere!**

Beni has asked Iago a couple times if he has gotten a letter from Max. Iago tells him no. **If he's not in Africa, then he wouldn't be sending Iago any letters due to someone finding out he's really not in Africa by the postmark.**

If Max is really in Africa and is not making any attempt to contact (write) Iago, I think Iago's love for Max will be tested. Eventhough Beni and Oscar are telling Iago how much Max loves him and he will be back, Iago is hurting and feels rejected. At this point Iago has no idea if or when Max will come home to him. I think he may be pursued by another man; however, in the end he will not be unfaithful to Max.

An upcoming spoiler suggests that Iago may be the jewelry thief. I don't think so. However, he may not be able to have an alibi, because he was spending some quality time with Max! He won't give Max up, because he know he needs this time to think and heal. . .even if it means going back to jail.

What would worry me is Beni's reaction to the news. In the past, he as turned on Iago. I am hoping this time he will stand up and defend Iago. I think he will. . .after all, Iago is his son-in-law!

How will this end. . .I think Max will return at the 11th hour and verify that Iago was with him during the time of the robbery. Max will come through for Iago.

What does everyone else think?

Loathlove, I think it's posible Max isn't in Africa, and Iago knows where he is, for some reason we don't know now. And the okupas have something to do with all this. It's the only explanation to the Iago's silence about Max (or a writers' mistake!). Something about Clara, "to do the imposible" for her to be free?

I'm starting to believe Max is not in Africa. Max and Iago are trying "to do the impossible" to get Clara out of jail.

However, they don't realize that Iago may be set up for stealing some jewels. This would be a way for Max to return. He would be able to verify where Iago was. . .with him! Remember Refa is giving him two afternoons off, and Beni will be working at his stand. Time enough to go see Max!!!!

Maybe, but Max's return is spected time after, at the end of the season (the bright light at the end of the dark tunnel, as Marc sayd).

What is going on with the actors who play Max and Iago. Do they want to do other projects and or on a break or off the show for the time being?

Carmela: I wonder what dark tunnel Iago or Max/Iago have to go through in order to get their "bright" ending?

I have a question: The town in which the show is filmed, is gay marriage legal?

Cherrios: My understanding is that Bernat left to do stage work. It's still unclear if he really is coming back. I'm keeping my hopes up that he is so that Max and Iago can get their happy ending!
Marc is doing another TV show, but stated that he is going to be on El cor for the season. If anyone knows any different, then correct me. Thank you.

The dark tunnel for Iago begins now, with people thinking he has done the (false) robbery.

El Cor city is Barcelona, in Spain and here, the gay marriage is legal (you're thinking about a Max & Iago's wedding as the bright ending? It's posible!).

I try to avoid spoilers (very difficult!), but it sure seems like the near future will be very hard on Max/Iago fans. I really hope there is light at the end of the dark tunnel, and I hope we don't have to wait through the whole season to make it through!
