Another Mexican telenovela. I have only watched 2 minutes, but already I'm not impressed. Diego is kinda effeminate and stereotypical. And on a purely superficial note he is the least attractive of them all, sadly.

I don't mind that he is effeminate or stereotypical, but I will mind if he is the only character who can't kiss a love interest. How is this the same country that gave us Aristemo? I feel sad every time I think of what hope that story gave us for Mexican LGBTQ+ representation, only for them to regress massively immediately afterward to the point where even gay adult couples cannot even kiss onscreen. But for what it is worth, it seems he will get a love interest will be played by Pedro Baldo. But the character is not significant enough to be given a last name... peopleenespanol.com/telenovelas/historia-de-amor-gay-llega-prime-time-univision-tu-vida-es-mi-vida/

I watched a couple of videos and it's the typical telenovela gay storyline (without any physical contact).
I don't find Diego effeminate, he is simply soft, and the guy is cute but his outfits and hats don't do him any favours

I don't find Diego effeminate, he is simply soft, and the guy is cute but his outfits and hats don't do him any favours It's clear at this point, after the missed kiss, that there won't be any physical contact. What a shame - and a shameful regression for Mexico. I don't understand why they have Diego wear those hats, you are completely right that it does him no favours. The scenes without that hat he's quite cute. Plus, he's the one who's more comfortable with his sexuality, and would know no self-respecting gay lad would be that unfashionable. Anyway the show is almost over, and it looks like the boys will at least get a happy (if chaste) ending. Diego reveals to his mother that he's in love. (The actress playing the mother is the same one who played Ari's aunt who became Temo's stepmother.) https://www.instagram.com/p/C6t8aUhvtIx Arturo defends Diego from bullies and finally admits to reciprocating his feelings. https://www.instagram.com/p/C6uoVDLNS6- A short clip with the actor playing Arturo about what he should do next. https://www.instagram.com/p/C6wz8CVv778

maybe they're waiting till the finale for the kiss? More likely just a hug, going by their track record, but we'll see.

It's worse than I thought. They actually filmed the kiss, but it got cut due to "scheduling conflict" or some bs like that... insane that this is happening in 2024

And on a purely superficial note he is the least attractive of them all, sadly. Please stop it. Diego isn't effeminate and stereotypical guy. First at all, Do you even speak Spanish? Second, The actor Diego (Bruno Pizza) is one of the first young people to come out of the closet on Mexican television. We should support him, not undermine his work. Three, The character is a rebellious boy, but I understand how someone who doesn't speak the language might think he's effeminate.

If so, they should at least make it available online. I'm skeptical that it was even scripted. And if it was, then it's shameful that this is the moment they would cut for "time".

At least here they made clear the boys were gay and in love with each other, even if they didn't have the cojones to show them kiss. Now I am thinking we should be grateful for what they did say because El amor no tiene receta is taking homophobic censorship to all new heights - or should that be lows? Over there, even the word "gay" - or anything alluding to same-sex desire - cannot be mentioned onscreen! On Friday, Pepa came out to his mother and brother but the scene was censored to remove any mention of what it is that's different about him and left him conflicted. Instead, it cuts straight ahead to the mother and brother saying they understand and are sorry he had to hide who he truly is from them. Seriously, WTF??? https://www.instagram.com/p/C8OI6G4tvKp
