  * Since this looks like it will be one of the big movies of the year we thought it prudent to give it its own spot here on the board. Based on the New York Times best seller by Casey McQuiston, 'Red, White & Royal Blue' marks the directing debut of Tony Award-winning playwright Matthew López who co-wrote the screenplay alongside Ted Malawer. The movie stars Taylor Zakhar Perez as Alex, the son of the President of the United States and Nicholas Galitzine as Prince Henry of the British Royal Family. Also starring are Uma Thurman (as the President) , Stephen Fry (as the King) , Clifton Collins Jr, Polo Morin and Sarah Shahi. The movie is produced by Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter.        Synopsis: "Alex Claremont-Diaz, the son of the President of the United States, and Prince Henry of the British Royal Family are in the international public eye more often than not. After an altercation between them at a royal event becomes tabloid fodder, their long-running feud threatens to drive a wedge in U.S./British relations. As a result, the rivals are forced into a staged truce which allows their icy relationship to thaw and causes the friction between them to spark something deeper than they ever expected."Trailer: The movie is released on Prime Video on 11th August. |

I just got done watching and had to cringe at some of the writing. You could tell it was written from a woman who has fantasies about gay men

I was hoping we'd hear something about a sequel or spin-off once the writers' and actors' strikes were over but still radio silence. I guess it's not happening, despite the good numbers it was supposed to have brought in for Prime.

Wasn't the novel it is based on a one-off as well? Most shows/movies based on a book usually don't like to go beyond what is already written.

The sequel is finally announced! Taylor and Nick will reprise their roles but that's about all the details we have for now. It's been a long time coming considering the movie was apparently a big hit for Prime Video; I can only imagine they were trying to confirm a story and secure the lead actors' availability.
