Could've sworn we already had a thread for this but it looks like it was just a mention in the Upcoming Shows thread. Glad to hear it's been renewed for S2!

Thanks for pointing this show out! It‘s one of the best I‘ve seen in a while, very bittersweet and the soundtrack is superb. I‘m glad they‘re doing a second season. That ending really was a major cliffhanger.

What does that mean exactly? It won't be on Prime internationally when it comes out? I really don't know I'm so confused.......

What does that mean exactly? It won't be on Prime internationally when it comes out? It means more money for the production company, if they did not sell it globally to only one, instead to 100 different streaming service, TV Station, for each country and from it gives money, so in the end in most cases more money, than if you have only one buyer. The same way, that is also Disney is going a foot step back, also not be the content owner worldwide, instead now also will sell their stuff content, for everyone in every region, because it gives more money, instead of the exclusive deals in the new past.

Thanks for the explanation. In theory, I agree that this arrangement should net the production company more money. It's also a major vote of confidence in the international viewership based on season 1. However, I'm not sure it will translate into returns in practice. Can they really find so many countries/broadcasters who are willing to take on a LGBTQ-centric series, especially in an increasingly anti-LGBTQ+ climate? Heck, I'm not sure they'd find a buyer even in the US, which is one of the largest markets. It's not like they have a "hook" such as a well-known actor or an intellectual property, which might boost foreign broadcasters' or streamers' confidence in their product. All I can say is - hopefully they resolve the major plotlines (especially the gay romance) in season 2 because I am very skeptical about the show's longevity. Sorry if I'm being a downer but when even popular shows like Love, Victor (which did have an IP, and a well-known actress on its main cast) can get the axe midway through filming season 3, or when 90% of the comments below LGBTQ+ series' trailers are homophobic, I'm really not feeling optimistic about the prospects of gay-led shows that decide to go it on their own without the backing of a behemoth like Amazon. I'd love nothing more than to be proven wrong and have my faith restored in humanity, but I won't be holding my breath!

Hopefully the new season will pull the trigger on the gay relationship and not turn out to be a massive tease.

It looks like we'll finally get some movement on the gay romance, I hope they are not literally teasing us. Only 6 weeks to 6 June!

premiere next month and Prisma is on the Beta Film website among the "spring/summer releases", but there aren't more details, yet.... I feel that this deal will be a big flop
