I have to say that I am a 110% Max and Iago fan. I think their story, so far, has been a classic love story with a modern day twist.
In the beginning, they did not like each other very much and got on each other's nerves. Despite this, there was an underline attraction.
Yes, Iago was a "bad boy" and broke the rules, but in his heart he was very moralistic. . .at least when it came to Max. Iago wanted Max and wasn't afraid to show his feelings to Max. Iago didn't like the way Enric was treating Max. Iago was willing and has changed for Max. . .to become a better man. . .one that Max can be proud of.
Max was hurt by Iago betrayal (Radovan saga). However, he couldn't stand by and watch Iago be killed or be put in prison permenently. He did what he had to for Iago. Max stood by Iago through thick and thin.
They deeply love each other. They act like a married couple!

That is indeed a tough question. I love them both for different reasons. Max in the Max/Enric storyline is in a different place in his life than the Max in Max/Iago. M/E is a great coming-out story, but I think M/I wins as my favorite because it's just about two people in love. Them both being guys isn't the cause of the drama, it's because Max is a good boy and Iago is a bad boy. Classic romance trope, just done with 2 guys.
Plus I think Iago is hotter than Enric, especially with the long hair [grin].

Agreed.
I mean, we all know how powerful coming out stories are and how they frequently do a great job drawing people in. But I think it's great that for a change you have a storyline that is great and soapy and doesn't have anything to do with coming out. It's a pity that El Cor doesn't get the attention it deserves.

I'm not sure Iago is the perfect partner (what with the whole criminal past), but I prefer him to Enric. I hated the "open relationship" thing with Max and Enric. It REALLY didn't suit Max and I felt like he got hurt over and over by Enric. At least Iago wants Max and has from the beginning. It was good to see Iago willing to compromise for Max this week! Max certainly deserves the consideration. Max and Enric had their moments, but I find the Max/Iago relationship much more passionate.

I consider Iago gorgeous so I prefer him with Max, but he so flawed that I worry. meidocfanmeidocfan, I agree that anything can push Iago the wrong way. He is only now getting on track with his life. I can't imagine how he would react well if he thinks that he is losing Max.
Enric was clearly not ready for a monogamous relationship with anyone, but there was very sweet moments where I thought he and Max connected deeply in a way that Max and Iago do not.
lolaruns, it used to bother me that Iago and Max don't get all that attention, but after all the tensions over the other gay couples, I no longer mind. I'm just thrilled that some people appreciate what I consider to be the best love story featuring a gay couple in Daytime.

taling bout max/enric or max/iago, well, i that it's difficult to choose between the two couples:) but i would prefer max/enric:) well, i know iago is much much more handsome than enric, but max/enric got the chemistry that max/iago hasn't:) and i'm sad that enric's gone:(

It's also really tough to compare them (M/E vs. M/I) because they're about very different things. It's always been about Max - first we got to the coming out process from his point of view, then the flip side as he helped Enric come out, and now he's in a relationship that isn't about coming out. Enric and Iago have filled very different roles in Max's life. I think the El Cor writers are doing a great job with Max - changing the focus of his storylines as he moves into adulthood.

Good point, stuartsez. This is Max's story. He is the best gay character on the soaps as far as I am concerned. Enric and now Iago are passing through different stages of Max' life. For all we know Max may have another great love to come (if Bernat sticks around that long).
I do think that Max has chemistry with Iago, but their relationship isn't as intimate as Enric and Max's which does take away from their story a little bit. I do find myself enjoying Max and Iago more because their story is more like the standard soap love story of good boy/bad boy and the problems that entails. Coming out stories on the soaps have been done to death.

Yes, it seems a bit unfair. I mean, I'm no expert on the show but based on the videos I have seen the Max/Enric story just looks different, brighter colors (outfits, lighting), closer camera shots of the kisses and things like that. It seems like for some reason the storyline had superior presentation, but the writing appeals much more to me for Max and Iago.

I agree - we're not seeing as much half-naked Iago as we should be [grin] - but I think he makes up for it with the adoring and smoldering gazes.

stuartsez, yep, I do mean love scenes, but also those quiet moments where lovers connect just holding each other in bed or elsewhere. Lola, also pointed out correctly the lack of close ups or lingering kisses. There was a lot of this with Enric and Max so it is noticeably missing with Max and Iago. I can't help thinking it has something to do with Marc Clotet being uncomfortable.

simone, i think it has something to do with marc clotet being a bit uncomfortable to begin with, which is why there's no bed scenes between max/iago:( i mean, yeah, he is straight playing gay, but hey, bernat is too gorgeous to resist:) hope someday he'll change his mind:)

I definitely go for Max and Iago. I love this couple to the max. I think what Max and Enric had was love that turned nasty. I don't like the outcome of their storyline more so with the attitude of open relationship. I mean, i have no against with this kind of relationship but I think it is not the kind of relationship that I want to have. Portraying this kind of relationship might cause some viewers to think that all homosexual relationships are promiscuous. Meanwhile, Marc Clotet is really hot. Bernat Quintana is simply gorgeous. ;)I think I like Max than Iago but I love this gay couple now than NUKE. I am waiting for more of their intimate scenes. I am also looking forward for their bed scenes. The scene of Max and Iago which I think is really intimate is when they were in a couch and while they made out, Iago reached for Max' nipples I think while he did the necking. WOW!!! :oThat was really arousing. ;DBut Clara was a killjoy as well as a bitch for a step mother. I am looking forward for more of their scenes. Me from the Philippines

I'll have to check out the Max/Enric clips, but as of right now, I'm on the Max/Iago train and I'm NEVER getting off. NEVER.
