This series from TV Tokyo has been adapted from the BL manga “Minato Shouji Coin Laundry” by Tsubaki Yuzu. It stars Kusakawa Takuya who is probably best known as Rokkaku in 'Cherry Magic' and Nishikagi Sho who played the class president Hiroto in 'Vanishing My First Love' / 'My Love Mix Up!', in the main lead roles of Minato and Katsuki. Produced by TV Tokyo, the series is an age gap romance focusing on the atypical dynamics and intrepid possibilities of love between two people who are attracted to each other irrespective of age or gender.

Synopsis: "Minato Akira has inherited his grandfather’s old laundrette and continues to keep it going due to its tranquil atmosphere and popularity with the locals. He enjoys the quiet lifestyle after an unsatisfying career as a corporate drone. One day, Katsuki Shintaro, a handsome high school boy comes through the door as a customer and despite their age difference, the two of them hit it off and quickly become friends. However, things take an unusual turn when Shintaro suddenly finds out that Akira is gay."

The first teaser has been released but only via the production company's twitter account, so I'll link to that for now. There are no subs:

There will be 8 episodes of 30 mins duration and the series will premiere on Wednesday 6th July. An international release has not yet been announced, however if no platform become available, IrozukuSubs will be providing a fan subbed version, and I expect the series will also appear in the other usual places too.

Well, they kept that quiet!

Out of the blue adverts have suddenly started to appear in Japan announcing Season 2 of 'Minato's Laundromat' (still called 'Wash My Heart' there).

The sequel is based on the second manga in the series and will follow the ongoing story of Minato and Shintaro. It's apparently set ten years later when they became lovers. According to the adverts it's scheduled to be released in July.

The person in the pic above is Nishigaki Sho who plays Shintaro. He posted it on twitter along with this message: 
"Thanks to all of you for your support. thank you. ⁡ I'm also looking forward to playing Shin! I'll do my best ~ 💪  I woke up early and took a picture"

The second series will get its international release on GagaOOLala with a premiere date of Wednesday 5th July.
