Neumatt is a Swiss tv-series from 2021 that is now on Netflix internationally (English dub & subtitles available). It‘s about Michi Wyss, a 32 year-old successful business consultant in Zürich. When his father commits suicide, Michi suddenly has to take care of his broken family and his family‘s troubled farm.
He is also gay, deeply in the closet, and is torn between his new lover Joel, an openly gay colleague from his firm, and his closeted ex-lover Döme from his hometown village.
I watched the 8 episodes of the first season and thought it was pretty good and mature. It has a good story overall and the gay content was decent. A second season is apparently scheduled for early 2023.

Sorry I read allways Neumarkt and thinking of St Gallen and must laugh because of my misreading.
Is such a shame, that we Germans at the border don't get anymore SRF, only OE1 and 2. As child I was growing up with all 3 countries national broadcast.

I saw the first episode it looks nice, and you can imagine in what direction it all goes. But I think the cuts are sometime? Like Michi is crying interrupted with scenes of him in the shower, what, why?! Or Lorenz, was it shock or is he really a no brainer, because what he did, or better not did, in the morning and act like nothing happens.
But I switched the language to Swiss German, for me it sounds a bit weird, if a Swiss wanted to speak high German a bit posed. But it is interesting, that around the 4 Swiss language, Swiss German, France, Italian, and German, it is also available in Turkish and English.

I‘m from swiss, but I never noticed this show. Now I watched the first episode! That looks great. It was last year aired on swiss television already. And I have to say, when I take a look on the cast list, many good actors from swiss on this show. They are filming already season 2. By the way, here is the Instagram Page from the main character Michi Wyss, his real name is Julian Koechlin. instagram.com/juliankoechlin?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=And the Instagram Page from his scene Partner, Joel Bachmann, real Name Benito Bause: instagram.com/benitobause?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=Julian Koechlin (Michi Wyss on the show) http://instagram.com/p/Ccpqj9Hq3uJ

I watched it till the end. I enjoyed it. It was really a realistic view, of gayness and also the life in a city compared to that in a village on a farm.
All characters, where from the story point at some point bad people. The characters are not stereotypical, but very realistic, all of them I can understand most of the decisions which everyone make, the mother, the sister. Yes the sister looks mostly like a spoiled bread bitch, but the cornerstone that there is something else with her, was a good built up.
But some aspects, I don't enjoy, yes again the cuts, maybe it should be a bit a stylistic device, because of the drug addiction, but for me it does not fit, most of the times. But the addiction was great played, the eyeshadows, was also a plus.
And the economical point about cow farmers. I don't know how it is in the Swiss, but in Germany, my Grandmother from my mother's side, had a farm, also a few school friends had farms, so yes I knew a cowshed and a pigsty from the inside. But in Germany they are mostly not as full time farmers, more as half time farmer, because of the low money income from the farmers job and also because of the health insurance costs, that goes to zero, with a second job, in Germany. So what is my point, from an economical standpoint, is a cow farmer in Germany only survivable with at least 40 cows now, as full time farmers, like we see. In the show you see only 10 or 12 cows, only one time it was saying it was 25 cows. But I see maybe they wanted the audience to show in this case not the reality, mostly a dream reality from the past. But Ok, maybe also a stylistic device, to see more the difference. I know also such high tech farmers, that with this technology, they can go now for a 2 weeks holiday, because everything works automatically, they work from the tablet, the owner see on the App, Tablet nearly everything. Even the cow had playthings and a robot with that the cow can scratch their backs. In the past they don't can go to a holiday, because of the full-time job, only if a neighbor is helping out.
And if it is really the case, today, that in the Switzerland, the farmer gets the milk to the Creamery Company? And the milk don't needed to be cooled down after the milking. In Germany, per law, the milk must be cooled at the farmers place, and the Creamery comes to the farmers every 1 or every 2 or 3 days and pumps the milk into the big cooler tank truck. So on an cow farm, you must have the infrastructure with a big active cooling tank fixed to the building, for few days. And some speedtest of the milk quality, like the Corona speetest, every know now, is making mostly direct at the farmers place, before the milk goes into the tank of the Creamery, especially if the milk is get mixed with a milk from another farmer.
So if someone don't know the reality, it was good, in most cases you must break down something a bit, from the reality, because it is a movie or show of fiction and no documentary.
And I know the actress, which plays the sister of Michi, but I don't know from where, maybe I should Google her.

Now I have finished all 8 Episodes!! And this show is really awesome, nice, dramatic, funny, and sexy!!! Amazing is the chemistry between Michi and his younger brother! The actor who played his younger brother is so amazing in his acting, and for his age, for sure! And when he saw Michi and his boyfriend together for the first time, his reaction was just adorable! His ex-boyfriend Döme, from Michi is a animal doctor from his hometown. And also a sexy man, (the actor had no instagram). But I like more, Michi and his boyfriend Joel. His sister also have a great story, and a tragic secret. They have all a lot of stuff to tell us, for a second season!! I can‘t wait!!!! Michi‘s younger brother Lorenz, played by Jerome Humm. The show will be in 30 languages and in 190 countries, worldwide online on Netflix. That was in a star magazine on swiss television and in the swiss newspaper. Because is the first time that a swiss production on Netflix.

The second Season is longtime aired in Swiss TV, but now it is online available at Netflix, at least in Europe.
I think a 3. Season is also in working.

I think the Actor of Michi is straight and married, too. The Actor of Joel I think is gay, but I am not sure. But who cares, they are Actors, it is their Job to play a different person, a different character or sexuality, it doesn't matter, should not be matter, if the Actor of a Character is straight, gay or Bi.
