Norway will legalize gay marriage (and with it, adoption) today, June 11th! Yeah!! Three cheers for Norway! Sorry, the Norwegian in me had to take over for a little bit. I might be the fifth generation born in the United States (or the third, if you count from a great-grandfather who immigrated), but I still have a soft spot for the home country of half my family.

That's great to hear ;D And now it's official, the law got the majority of the votes, and gay people can officially get married from January 1st 2009, it takes a long time, cause lots of laws have to be changed, since they can adopt too. And gay people now have the exact equal rights as straight people!

Norway will legalize gay marriage (and with it, adoption) today, June 11th! Congratulations are in order. Can we expect Sweden and Finland to join the ranks soon? or is like asking Canadians if we expect our neighbours to the South to follow our country's lead?

Thanks, I have no idea about Finland, but I do think it will happen in Sweden soon too. I mean, they almost have marriage already, they just call it civil union, they have almost the exact same rights now, so yeah, it wouldn't be such a big transformation as in Norway. And all political parties in Sweden are for gay marriage except one I think. Here in Norway actually two parties was against, and one of them, FRP, is Norway's second largest party, which is quite sad... Anyways, to sum it up, I wouldn't be surprised if it happens in Sweden next;)
