Noticed there wasn't a thread created already for this remake
Catching up on S3 right now, and I have to say, they are certainly incorporating Martino and Niccolo more than Skam France. It was lovely to have the meal scenes to get a bit of the boy squad in. I especially like how they are showing how Martino/Niccolo living situation developed to similar to OG S4. I feel like is probably the best post-Isak season in terms of keeping the boy squad involved after the show switch back to the girl squad.
One thing I am really loving is the fact that they made Filippo(Eskild) into Ele's brother. It allows him to show up so much more in S3. Not to mention all the interaction between the siblings adds so much more depth to S3.
Has there been any other remakes that party quite as much as the girl squad in Italia? They have a big party they attend pretty much every week. Considering they are showing the boy squad in just about all those party, that means they are partying just as hard. I don't remember last season having quite so many parties.

How are you watching Skam Italia? I don't see any more clips posted on YT, I thought they had clamped down on it.

Skam Italia has been cancelled and there won't be a S4. Is this the first remake that "ended"?

I'm sorry to see it end prematurely because I think they did make a valiant effort with gay representation in season 2, but if I'm honest they couldn't sustain my interest beyond that. (Nor could Skam France ... we have to see how season 5 goes. Italia's problem was ironically that they brought the gay character's season forward to 2 instead of 3.)
Besides Skam France and Druck, is it confirmed any of the other series will continue past season 2? There seems to be no announcement for Austin, Espana, NL. WTFock (Belgium) is the only one to my knowledge which has announced a third season coming out later this year. I'm astonished that Druck is actually onto season 4, I thought season 3 was a disaster but maybe they shot both seasons back-to-back like France did so they are just burning through taped material.

Renewed for season 4 and will air on Netflix (probably just in Italia).

I'm excited I enjoyed this remake. It's probably just going to be episode a week rather then a clip everyday.

Glad to see them get a reprieve. They deserve it. Hopefully they can perk up season 4 to follow in France's lead (i.e. get renewed for fifth and sixth seasons) because Season 3 was a bit of a drag. I liked the main actress but they needed to change up her storyline a bit instead of having it be a carbon copy of OG Skam because not even minimal appearances by Martino and Niccolo could make that interesting the fourth time around. Renewed for season 4 and will air on Netflix (probably just in Italia). Does Netflix geo-lock its content? So far we seem to get foreign-language Netflix productions on the same day they premiere in their respective countries.

Somehow I missed this Season 5 renewal the first time around. Surprising, considering Skam Italia didn't seem like one of the more popular remakes to make it past the original's 4 seasons. I wonder who the main character will be; according to the Netflix announcement below on the start of production (yesterday), both Niccolo and Martino will return for the new season. http://instagram.com/p/CWqSnOuK7BQ

I'm surprised it got renewed as well. Didn't realize the Italia version was that popular

I never watched past season 2. Is there any relevant scene with Niccolo and Martino in season 3 and 4? I'm afraid I don't know; to be perfectly honest they didn't manage to hold my attention after they brought forward the gay season from 3 to 2. I don't think they appeared in season 3 much (or at all). I did find these clips from Season 4.

Skam Italia will return for season 5 next week, September 1st, on Netflix. It will be centered on Elia (Francesco Centorame, who has appeared in gay-themed projects before). Because Elia is part of Martino and Niccolo's friendship group, we do see them pop up in the trailer. However, it looks like he has failed high school and will still be there unlike his friends, so I guess their presence is quite limited. There is an interesting moment in the trailer where Elia denies he is gay to Martino - I wonder why that was necessary, was there ever any indication he might be queer?

O/T: For fans of Federico Cesari (Martino), he stars in another Netflix Italia series called Everything Calls for Salvation, but it seems to be a straight role.
Here's the description: Seven episodes, one for each for the seven days of TSO (Compulsory Health Treatment) to which Daniele (Federico Cesari) is subjected. A week of isolation from the rest of the world, here he will find himself facing his most hidden fears and delving into himself in a path of acceptance that will lead him to forge the strongest, most sincere and true bonds of his life. Everything Calls for Salvation, a series loosely based on the acclaimed novel of the same name by Daniele Mencarelli, and directed and written by Francesco Bruni arrives on October 14, only on Netflix.

The above project looks like it will have a queer character, but not as Federico's love interest (who is female).
