F: I don't agree on going around, speaking about people's private life, I'm more respectful in that matter.

To complete the Twitter thread, I found this today vimeo.com/user85503524I think some scenes are slightly different (longer, or not on Twitter or not on Vimeo...), I don't know which is more complete. I was able to understand the story through the Twitter thread and i haven't been able to watch all the videos on vimeo as my internet is quite slow these days, so I'm not able to say which is better to follow the story. Twitter is enough at least. Idk if vimeo provides automatic captions ? If you want, I can try to sum up what's happened so far. |

Just want to say thanks for the links. I understand about 2% of what they're saying - and usually not the important stuff - but I like the actors' rapport-they got me rooting for a happy-end-and it gives me an excuse to plunge into learning Spanish again. |

Telefe has been uploading the whole episodes on their YouTube channel Telefe Novelas. They've uploaded Paul and Fidel's story in two parts so far (they're quite short but a good summary). They always upload some stuff from the episodes, so you can catch some Paul and Fidel stuff there. The automatic Spanish captions seem good enough for me to understand when I'm not sure I understand a word right, I think they would be okay if you translated them? Their story so far: Paul has always been out and proud. Fidel was in a long relationship. He's been divorced from Cata for about a year. They have a daughter together, Azul. Paul and Fidel meet, there's something there from the start. Paul has definitely a crush on him, Fidel also but doesn't know how to handle it. They have a date (the video that has subtitles) but Fidel still has a hard time. From then on, their relationship is on and off. Cata finds out about their relationship from Paul's father. Paul says something to his nephew who then tells his classmates: Fidel is outed to his students. (He handles it pretty well!!) For now, they've broken up: Cata is sick (cancer), Fidel has moved back in with her. Paul was very supportive. At his sister's workplace, Paul meets Mathias. He has a big crush on him, they end upspending the night together but it is revealed Mathias has cheated them all: left with the client's money and stolen from Paul. Fidel has been trying to get a sex Ed class at school, the director is not okay with it. There's gonna be some drama with that. But scenes have been filmed at Paul's place, with Fidel. So they have scenes together coming up  The scenes between Mathias and Paul were very...sexy. no other way to put it. While the scenes with Fidel were pretty tame, they were at the beginning of the show, when it just started airing. I suppose they were being cautious but now that they've gathered a good fanbase, I can only assume it's gonna get hotter with Fidel. |

If you are having trouble with the subtitles - click the d (upper left corner) to watch at dailymotion. In the upper right corner will be a little icon (when you hover your cursor over the video) with 3 lines with small squares. Click on that - it brings up the settings menu - then go to subtitles - click on English to turn them on - then hit the X to return to the video.

but I will say - having the transgender character cut his hair to sigur ros music while his parents helped/watched was such a MOMENT. I defo cried

I defo cried(spoilers for people waiting for english subs) I'm as disappointed as you are...I don't know why there wasn't more, considering there were some pretty steamy scenes between paul and matias. they're only secondary characters but still... the worst is that they had paul's sister and her affair have sex in paul's bed -_-
personally didn't like the cutting hair scene because there were so many close ups (when such a moment is super intimate for most trans people, so it felt to me like it was some voyeurism?) and in the end, the cut isn't even super masc. they didn't do it as well as a força do querer. but they've been doing some great work, so it's like 1 bad thing vs. loads of really good stuff. and it is important that we finally depict trans stories, i've been waiting for that forever, so im really glad they're telling this story.
Also i love the way it has impacted Fidel.
but then...one tiny kiss instead of a steamy scene that ends up in bed is also one thing i'm holding against telefe.

Highlight to read: It seems that Telfe is homophobic, they did this same shit with the gay characters on Simona. It's supposed to be this great love story, yet they weren't even allowed to have sex, when EVERY other straight couple had sex, including Junior (one half of the gay couple) with his ex girlfriend. It pissed me off so much that I stopped watching. It's been weeks since that happened, at STILL no sex scene, so it seems like I made the right decision. This shit is expected with Mexican telenovelas. They hardly show any PDA, and I know that watching the shows, hence why my expectations are so low. I'm never disappointed with the lack of PDA, because I know what to expect. I expected more from Argentine telenovelas, we're talking about telenovelas that showed gay sex on screen 10 years ago. That's why this is so disappointing. I expected more. It's like we're taking 10 steps back. It's especially infuriating when they don't have any problems with their other trans and lesbian characters showing affection. Seems like some Evangelical took over Telefe and this is what we're stuck with. Just sad. |
