That was so sad. I'll miss you Arno.
So if I understood right, Arno wrote something about Olli having a sister? I was glad that Olli didn't ask his mother about it and I was glad that Christian seemed to finally get how much it bothered him. What will he do now that Arno is gone? Charlie obviously is going to be no help.

I knew it was coming but it still brought tears to my eyes. I guess he must have had a heart attack while swimming. And I guess that was his Mom waiting for him. I will miss him also. Very sad

I guess that's what happened. Kind of strange. They do the big story of him having Alzheimer's and he ends up with a heart attack? VL just doesn't know how to wrap a story up, but I think the acting was really well done.

I didn't comment much lately and I won't probably in future , but this time I can't help myself and I have to say maybe an unpopular opinion here , but the Chrolli scenes were stupid as hell (headdesk worthy ) and together with Marbecca (definitely too much in this episode) it was the worse part of this episode on the other side Arnos SL was great

I wonder what they would have done with Arno if they didn't decide to let him have a heart attack. Would he have ended up in a nursing home or just shipped off somewhere where eventually he would have been forgotten. I guess they thought it would be more merciful to have him die instead of going through the disease and its eventual outcome. JMO.

Also, whenever a character dies, it can serve to create a lot of drama for the other characters, jump start other storylines. Not spoiling here, just saying that's usually how it works. Sending him off to a nursing home doesn't allow for a funeral or a chance to for the characters and the audience to say goodbye.

BTW, did anyone see Justus watching Rebecca. What was that all about? At first it was funny, but then he kept looking and it began to get kind of creepy.

Absolutely. Cried when it happened. The flashbacks were a killer. Yes, that was his mother. Nice to allow Konrad and Gabrielle to share his climactic scene on the show. It was Konrad's choice to retire from the show after all these years. It was a strong story because they didn't drag it out. (unlike so many others on this show) It was also good because he (Arno) chose the day and the manner in which he'd die, still in control of himself and aware of what he was doing. While the way he died was unexpected up until a week or two ago when he started having the chest pains, it was dramatic and IMHO, a strong end to his long run on the show. Here's a link for the full ep on Mediathek. The final scene takes up that last 6 or 7 minutes, with Chrolli immediately before. mediathek.daserste.de/sendungen_a-z/439104_verbotene-liebe/11687662_folge-4139-der-letzte-gang

Do you think he really chose the time to die? I thought it was coming and he just didn't do anything to stop it. It's not like he gave himself a heart attack, but I think he welcomed it as opposed ot having to go through a long slow one.

"Forever a little boy" is roughly what he said when he was swimming. He wanted to go out doing something fun, something he enjoyed, and I believe something he knew would take him due to the physical strain on his weak heart. That's why he had Charlie write all the letters. He settled all his affairs and left at a time of his choosing.

What a sad eppy This seems to be hitting Christian hard. I wish they would let Chrolli have a lttle convo about. I hope there will be a funeral and us seeing Arno laid out on the ground won't be the end of it.
BTW, that was really strange that Charlie didn't call anyone and went and got the clothes for Arno.

BTW, that was really strange that Charlie didn't call anyone and went and got the clothes for Arno. Perhaps she didn't want anyone to see him until he looked more dignified, in his usual clothes instead of a swimsuit. I thought that scene where she dressed him and combed his hair was just lovely. The whole episode (minus the teens in the boat scenes) was so sad, but nicely done. Plus I always like to see angsty Andi. And I loved that moment where Christian and Olli touched briefly at the door -- one of their typical couple moments, communicating without words, that we haven't seen enough of for a long time.

I liked it, I just thought it was strange. You are probably right that she didn't want people to see him that way, but I thought it was strange that she would leave him. I imagined her calling Olli. I too could have done without the scene. Chris didn't say much, but Throe played his scenes very well. At the door it just seemed like he wanted to grab Olli and not let him go, but that wasn't the time for it. So instend he went inside. That's why I kind of wish we could have seen Olli tellling him. We saw everyone else's reaction, but I guess Chris just isn't really improtant here. He's jus a support person for Olli, who is a support for Charlie. And thanks for posting the caps and videos Chrolli88

Another good episode, minus the comic relief.
Charlie, Jessica and Elisabeth were definitely the emotional centers of the show today. very good work by all of them, particularly Jessica (Jana). A nice touch to give her and Daniel a moment of civility. The pool scene with Dana and Marlene fell flat, in my view.
Leonie was wearing too much eye makeup for the benefit of her crying scene. It worked for Jessica, but not for Leonie.
Clarisa's muted reaction was bizarre. I'll admit part of me wanted Tanja to be the one to break the news to Timo/Leonie. That would have been classic!
I liked Andi's scene but think he'll have stronger emotional outbursts as we move forward. Not spoilers, btw, just a guess.
It would be nice to see Chris and Olli have a scene about Arno, particularly Chris since Arno's house was historically the meeting place/shelter for wayward teens/young people. My history may be wrong here, but he probably had a bunch of scenes over at the old Brandner house with Lisa/Coco and the other younger group in his first year on the show.

If I ignore the teens I will say yesterday was a great episode I know the stufff with the teens getting Emilio a suit and going to the lake was meant as a little light relief but for once it didn't quite work for me.
I loved the Charlie dressing Arno it was like a final act of love and the last thing she could do for him. I can understand her doing it on her own because for me it was about her and Arno and a private moment. Loved support Olli being there for Charlie when Daniel arrived and the guys waiting to take the body.
I also loved the scene at Charlies Christian and Olli's little moment at the door and Christian just trying to be comforting presence nothing more for both Olli and Charlie. Clarissa left me a little confused not sure about her reaction to things but I will wait to see if its just me and the language barrier. I actually didn't like the teens reaction I don't know Charlie, Elizabeth and Jessica's reactions were much better than the teens but that could be because I'm not keen on them.
Jessica in No Limits was really good and lighting the candles was again another goodbye which was touching.
Overall both yesterday and today the episodes are a lovely good bye to Arno and Konrad.

Thanks for posting. Love the pics of Olli, but if they keep insisting on showing closeups, they need to get some new ones.
