Bandolera is a spanish daily soap that aired every afternoon in antena3 (the same of física o química). The action happened in Arazana, a village of Andalucía (South of spain) in 1882, and it's been aired for more than a year. The main character is Sarah Reeves, and english heiress who starts to live in the spanish village. To make the story short (a lot of the main characters changed during this year), she discovers the bandid who lives in the mountains and she ends being the leader (the bandids of course are not that bad), and she has a romance with one guardia civil (like police but militar). That story ended long time ago, and now we have some new characters. One of them is the new bad guy, who has a lot of lands, and is the new major of the village (he fixed the elections), and he is the father of Pablo who is the first gay character of the show. Pablo lived before in Salamanca when he studied, and he had a romance with an actor, but after the dead of his older brother, he became the heir of the patriarc, and he has to left his paintings and come with his father to Arazana to follow his steps and became a business man. He is married with Elisa, but his attemps to love her back failed miserably, specially after knowing Emilio Roca, who is the new captain of guardia civil. At his time on Arazana, he recieves the visit of his old lover, the actor. But this guy only want to blackmail his father. He wanted money, and threads with an scandal. But one is not the bad guy of a soap if he let a random actor blackmail him, so Garmendia hires some men to bash the guy. Well, Pablo has some drinking problems, but after start a friendship with Captain Roca, he starts to solve this. Emilio encourages him to be brave and tell the truth. So Pablo tells the truth to his wife (who is torn, but not that much because she is starting to have feelings for one of the bandids) and his father (who just don't care). He declares his love to captain Roca who initially rejects him. But after a couple more of episodes Emilio said that he loves him back. Of course being a show that happens on 1882, it wont be easy, and i expect Captain Roca to say that he can't be with him because of his job, but it seems that in tomorrow's episode they will kiss for the first time. Unfortunately there seem to be no youtube clips (the storyline is quite recent), but if someone is interested, the full episodes are in www.antena3.com/series/bandoleraI hope i can make me undestand, i'm pretty new to the show, and there's a lot of storylines going on, but both, Pablo and Emilo are in every episode, with their own storyline and in others as well |

I find a clip on youtube, is from fourth part of episode 342 (tomorrow's episode will be 369), Pablo appears for the first time at 31 second, and Captain Roca appears at 8:35. The video is recent, so maybe someone will catch this storyline a put the videos on youtube

Thanks so much for the heads up, Jjose! I understand you perfectly fine  Although one thing confused me, and I hope you can fill me in.. is this an ongoing soap, or has the soap finished? I think it looks really interesting! I just hope someone is able to upload and subtitle this storyline, because I'm pretty sure the Antena 3 website is blocked for me.. sigh  BTW.. I love Spain, and it's about time they did another gay storyline imo. Fervid is probably my favorite gay storyline of all time, although I hated the way it ended. ETA: I just saw the kissing scene, and wow! That was kinda steamy! I really like this storyline, from the little I could understand. The guys are cute together too, and have great chemistry. I cannot wait to see more of this! ;D |

This is a ongoing soap, and this is just a new storyline. Pablo's father is just the new bad guy of the show (but he seems quite soft comparing to the evil woman who was Sarah nemesis till a bunch of episodes).
I don't know why antena3 blocked the videos, but at least they are a lot more permissive than telecinco about youtube.
Translate will be very difficult because it's a daily soap, Emilio and Pablo are in every episode, and they have their own storyline, but they appear in other storylines too, as i say very very difficult.
I hope the story last, and specially i don't want a tragic endind (it won't be the first). At least any of them is dating Sarah, her boyfriends have a tendency to end dying with violence

Thanks for the info, Jose! I hate it when they kill of gay characters, but I guess in this case it's understandable. It's just that kind of soap.. kinda like Game of Thrones and Spartacus. I'd still like to see the development of this storyline though.. hopefully the characters won't be killed off too soon.. lol. This storyline looks really promising, and realistic. The gay characters have a lot of chemistry too, and they are both good looking. I have been a fan of so many Spanish celebrities in the past, and I have watched and read so many Spanish interviews, that I have picked up on some of the words, so I know some Spanish, although not a lot. I understand a little bit of what's going on, but not enough to form the whole picture of what's going on. I understand that it's a daily soap, and it would be a lot to upload and subtitle, but I still wish it was possible to at least upload their storyline, although I understand that they are involved in other story lines too, and we'd probably miss some of the bigger picture, but honestly.. I don't care. I just wanna watch this storyline, I just wanna see them together.. that's all. I'm not even expecting subtitles, but I would be thrilled if someone could upload it and at least give a summary in English of what's going on. Probably not very likely, I know it's time consuming too.. sigh. Oh well.. I can dream, right? They haven't uploaded whole episodes to the website? Or am I just missing it? There just clips and previews of the episodes, right? Whatever.. it would probably be blocked for me anyway, lol. |

Yes, it's exactly the same that it was with Física o química, the whole episodea are here www.antena3.com/videos/bandolera.html (there are all episodes since the begining). In the video of the kiss, you can watch two more scenes of the storyline, one with Pablo and his wife (when she tell him that she feels strange, and he let her know that he will do anything to set her free to pursue happiness with other man), and other between Elisa (Pablo's wife) and Captain Roca, when she came to the conclusion that Emilio is the man his husband loves (she found a love letter and Pablo first lie to her and said it was for another woman but then he recognizes that it was a man, and she reminds when Pablo draw Emilio to make him a gift). I hope someone upload the videos to youtube too (like they did with FedVid) but being an afternoon show is less probable (most of the viewers are housewives). But maybe someone will do, because the storyline is really recent (today was the first kiss) and for a long time we know Pablo was gay, but it was difficult to know if Emilio would be the same |

I think this storyline looks really good, and shows a lot of promise! I already like it, and the guys have great chemistry. I can't wait to see what happens next. Thanks again for the heads up on this storyline! ETA: can I just ask you one more thing? You say this soap is aired in the afternoon in Spain? And they allow gay make out scenes like that? HOLY SHIT. Now this is why I love Spain ;D |

I've been able to see some episode and it looks quite interesting (I like the historical setting ;D)
You're right though that both characters seem to have a huge amount of screentime (with theirs and other related storylines) so it's not easy sum up in videoclip.
I hope someone will though cause the storyline is worth it.

The show aired between 4:30 and 5:30 pm (more or less), but it's not sexually charged, specilly for a show that has a brothel as one of their main settings. But yes, they like passionate kisses (Pablo was showed in bed with his former lover, Jacobo, but it was an after sex scene). If someone want to follow their storyline (more or less) can watch "mejores momentos" (best moments) that are short clips of every episode (usually four clips, but today there are five) with the highlights of the episode www.antena3.com/series/bandolera/momentos/clara-descubre-identidad-bandoleros_2012062100073.html . The second and third videos are about their storyline. Well i put what happens on yellow, because i don't want to spoil the storyline: Today Emilio stops the kiss, and he left Pablo confused, his wife enters the scene and ask him directly if it was Emilio the one who he loves, Pablo didn't answer.
Emilio is very affected by a case of a bashed man, the guy is a taylor and he didn't hide his homosexuality. Emilio promise to investigate, even when Morales thinks that they have to archive the case (the young guardia civil in the scene is Jairo, who feels pity for the man, he is a known face because he was Salva on Física o química). Then Roca is drinking (something he never did before) on the brothel, Pablo is still angry at him, but he sees him so bad that he forgives him. Emilio tells him that he was married, but his wife commits suicide after finding him in bed with another man.Well, there are other storyline that possibly will have ramifications on Pablo/Emilio one, because Pablo's father use Olmeda (who is the bad guy, former corrupt captain of guardia civil) to hire gunslinders to kill the bandits, one of them is a former fellow of Emilio (he is the new bad guy, i read an interview with him in a tv guide, the guy played a bad guy in Hispania, a show about the resistance of natives to the Roman Empire, and he says this new guy will be hated for sure) |

Nothing happened between Pablo and Emilio in friday's episode, in fact Pablo didn't appear in the episode. There were gay storyline, because Emilio solved the bashing of Pepito.
But it seems this week will get a lot more action: In mondays episode Elisa ask Emilio to treat right his husband, but the big news are in wednesday episode, Pablo has a fight with the new bad guy, so Emilio arrest him, and at night they were alone in jail, so there's no better oportunity to have sex

I didn't watch today's episode (summer finally came and it was a beach day), only the final part of the episode. I don't think it was development in the episode in Roca-Pablo storyline, Elisa talk with Emilio, and said to him to treat well her husband (like it was showed in the preview), and i think Elisa and Pablo are going to be confindent and he will help her in her relationship with Alejandro.
On the preview, it show that Santurce (the new bad guy) knows about Roca's secret, wich make me think that Roca had an affair with another guardia civil in the past (we know he was with someone when his wife catch them in the act). I think in the new circunstances, he will be reluctant to pursue something with Pablo (he treats badly poor Pepito who thought he has a chance with him) but we know that will change in wednesday episode

I can't wait to watch today's episode! I've just watched monday's and I don't know why but I got the impression that Roca won't take too well Eliza's interferences in his and Pablo's business even if she's clearly moved by good intentions

My spanish isn't very good but from what I've understood when Pablo and Roca are in the prison, Emilo warns him to be very cautious around the guy he was fighting with because he's very dangerous. Then they start talking about their situation and Pablo accuses him of being more coward than him (Pablo) and then they kiss.
In the scene with Pablo's father and Elisa I think Pablo asks his father to dismiss the man he fighted with (who's working for his father) but his father says no while Elisa takes his husband side. Then when Elisa and Pablo are alone they try to comfort each other thinking about their impossible love relationships.
I think that now things between Roca and Pablo are going to be even more difficult because Santurce (the new bad guy) knows about Roca's sexuality and so Roca will be even more unwilling to risk his job but I hope love will prevail in the end ;D

I love this storyline! The guys are hot and have great chemistry, and I love their make out scenes.. haha I just wish I knew what they were saying.. Spanish is a beautiful language, unfortunately I don't understand much though.. I never got around to learn it. I've just picked up a few words here and there, from watching Fervid and stuff. So I understand a few words here and there, but not a lot, and not enough to make sense of the story, unfortunately. I'd appreciate it if someone who speaks Spanish here could give an English summary of the clips though. It would really mean a lot, because the storyline looks really good. I'd just like to know what's going on.. that's all |

overtherainbow, the first clip "Pablo and Emilio meet", is of course the begining of their story, the first time they meet. Then, the captain Roca has just arrived at the village and introduces himself as the Jaime Muñoz, a trader that is working in the area. Pablo tells him to have a drink but the newcomer answers he's still working. Pablo, almost drunk, bothered one of the girls of the tavern. Emilio reproach him for the both things. Later, the same day, at the same place, it comes the second clip, "Emilio introduces himself as a captain of the Guardia Civil". Pablo apologizes the girl and then Emilio comes in with his real identity. Olmedo, that until that moment was the captain of the Guardia Civil in the village, was arrested for smuggling, and by now he's the new authority of Aranzana. He says to the girls of the tavern that they never will suffer the abuses they had with Olmedo (of course the bad guy). Pablo says him he's a good actor, he introduced himself as Jaime Muñoz few time before. The third clip happens at Pablo's home. He's with his wife Elisa, that asks him why he stopped her kiss. "Because the maid. I'm not used to kiss before people, my parents never did". Elisa was saying him to kiss her before people, when captain Roca arrived. He had left his cigarette case in the diner of the night before, at Pablo's home. But he gives him back. "It's a very beautiful cigarette case, captain Roca. You have an exquisite taste". Emilio says it's a present and he has no merit on it. "It's a present of long time ago and I would be upset if I lost it". Pablo tells Emilio to take some drink (coffee or tea) at his home, but duty forced the captain to follow with his work (executing a criminal). Elisa says to the maid to see him to the door, but instead, Emilio does. The fourth clip, "meeting in the river", doesn't need translation. Pablo and Elisa were walking outside the village, near the river, when they met Emilio that was naked (he isn't the first man who takes a bath naked in the river). He explains he went to swin because he was injured in the shoulder and swinning is the best exercise. When the couple left,Pablo stares at Emilio's naked body... Edited: sorry I changed the names of both, I'm new watching this series.

When there is another "guardia civil", they talk about the robbery he and his father suffered. And asks him a escort because they have to get much money from the bank to pay their workers and dealers. But when they are alone, Pablo tries to talk about the conversation they had days ago about their feelings. "Do you remember what you said?", Pablo asks. "Of course I do", Emilio answers. But a guardia civil comes in and they stopped. The following scene is the kiss in the stable. Pablo says he's brushing the horses because he needs to do something for not thinking about his problems, he has a lot! Emilio says he does too. In the line of the conversation in the barracks, Emilio says he has ordered the escort they asked. Then, Pablo asks him if he has been looking for him around all the village, only to say that thing. Of course, not! Emilio says he loves him, he likes him from the first time they met, and he understood his feelings about him when he saw Pablo with another man, an actor, and then he got jealous. Emilio also says he wasn't brave about him, Pablo, who has confessed Elisa his love for him and talked with the captain about his feelings. Emilio was the really brave! And Emilio doubted. But he wants not more to be an hypocrite. "Pablo, I love you", and he kisses him. But Emilio continues doubting. He stopped, he says he dont want continue (until making love), he must to return to his work. Because things are very difficult for him. Pablo says it's also difficult for him, and why did Emilio come to see him? And then, Elisa arrives and Emilio leaves. The following scene,Emilio is drinking very much. He confesses Pablo he never has been so upset. And not only for their feelings. A tailor of a nearby village went to him to report he has bashed by two people for his condition. "Why must we be so unlucky?", Emilio said. "Because suffering is our fate", Pablo answers. "And we aren't the only ones who suffer. Also people around us", Emilio says. "If you talk about Elisa, I confessed her for not to hide it. Well, she's suffering but..." And then Emilio said his terrible story: his wife killed herself with his gun when she saw him in bed with another man. "I killed her, Pablo, my condition killed her! We cowards, we deceive our wifes, and the brave people like that tailor, who don't hide their condition, they are bashed". "in the future, our condition will change", Pablo says. But Emilio doesn't agree, "a century after, things will be the same for homosexual people". Before leaving, Emilio says he has explained what happened with his wife because he wants Pablo to know the reason of his reactions, because he's really important for him. ------------- Tomorrow I'm doing the same with the other video. And the spoilers for next week are interesting, Emilio declares his love to Pablo. The ex-captain Olmedo, who was working for Pablo's father and was fired by Pablo, follows him (he suspects something about him and the captain Roca), and finds them kissing pasionately. Elisa makes love with her beloved Alejandro, when he knows Pablo accepts their marriage to be annuled. Pablo is happy because the new life he has now with Emilio, but Olmedo is a great danger for them |
