I found this couple two days ago. I just saw one clip really fast. It's a Telemundo novela (from the year 2006), There was a kiss (but we didn't see the lips) It was between Mauro (faking he was gay just to get money and Alex) look for it at 6:56 and here we have Alex and Andrés. Andrés tells Alex he has the same sexual preference as him, and in the second video, he tells him he has never been with a guy. Playlist of ten videos but without subs, they are parts from the episodes, I don't think these are the only ones where Alex made an appearance in but he's in them. I have not watched the novela at all, I just saw the videos in the paylist and that's all I know at the moment. SO I JUST HAD TO GO AND WATCH PART OF THE LAST EPISODE ONLINE AND THEY HAVE A HAPPY ENDING

I wtached this telenovela, it was the first time i get addicted to one. First of all the gay couple don't share any intimacy moments but i find the telenovela incredibly progressive, it was filmed in 2006.
I don't think Mauro really faked to be gay, he had a relationship with the brother and the sister, and yes, he finally ends with a girl (after learning all the bad things he did, of course) but he was more interested in money than in anything (at least before the end). I always suspect he was bisexual (but maybe deal with this was too much for a telenovela). Alex and Andres had a lot of screentime, yes they were more in the supporting cathegory, and a lot of their conversations were about other characters, but they were important. Other thing that i find interesting was the fact that both her mothers were very supportive. Alex mother was crazy, and she lived her live like she was a teenager, but she was very supportive of him. And Andres was the long lost child of the main female character, and i find it very refreshing the fact that for once the long lost child was gay, of course Valeria didn't have a problem with it. Her whole character was very gay diva, she was strong to the point to be physically aggresive, nothing to do with the usually vulnerable telenovela heroines. Other important thing was the fact that Alex best friend was the young alpha male of the show, who didn't have a problem with the fact his best friend was gay (Alex was very far from bieng out of the closet at the begining).
One of the best things of this telenovela was the fact that the evil characters Marcia and Don Chema, were (apart of very very bad people) incredibly funny, that makes this telenovela very enjoyable

Thank you, jjose712, for all the info!! You just made me want to watch the Novela!! I just love how at times, characters change at the end, but not always. The change I like is when an evil character becomes nice to the main couple, but yet still remains evil, especially to the ones trying to destroy them ! ha! And I love that he was the main female character's son! Just like you said it was about time, well I'm right behind you on that! Do you think this Novela is actually better than the ones of today?

I don't know i never was a fan of telenovelas but this one was kind of addicting. As i say, in terms of gay storyline is not that interesting, but i think it was quite pregressive for its time, as i say both gay characters have screen time and were related to a lot of other characters.
What make this telenovela interesting for me was the fact that the heroine was strong, she even was insulted a couple of times and called butch (in spanish she was called marimacho) and she didn't care at all. And as i say the bad guys (in this case an old man and a really b*** lady) were really mean but really funny.
I think that maybe it was one of the first attemps to integrate gays characters in telenovelas, they have their own (brief storyline) but i don't remember they went further than hugs, but they were integrated in the whole story, they were not to make jokes or living in their own bubble.
In this case some of the characters like Mauro or Belinda redimed themselves, but Marcia and Don Chema didn't (and one of them even had a happy ending).
Other character who i find very enjoyable was Laura, she was the first wife of Valeria (the heroine) love interest. She was 15 years in coma (very soapy) and come to life just in time to avoid Valeria's wedding. In other cases you expect her to be egoist or simply witch to destroy the main couple happiness, but instead of that she was really nice, and in the end she decides to separate from his husband to make room for the couple to reunite.
Of course as every telenovela has a lot of faults, but as i say, i spend a really good time watching it (i think i started to watch it in the middle, and it was quite long). The last episode was last month, and sometimes i miss watching it
