As they check on Arianna, Sonny pretends to leave but instead hides in a closet so he can report back to Will about his supposed surprise party. But as he texts updates to Will, Sonny is the one who gets the surprise when he overhears Gabi, Kate and Sami talking about their shocking secret! At the same time, Will kills time at Club TBD. Later, Adrienne joins him and he confides what he and Sonny are up to. They share a few laughs, then are curious when Sonny stops messaging...

Summary: A stunned Sonny continues to hide in the closet as he hears Gabi, Kate and Sami talk about their secret. The women freak out when Roman arrives and they quickly get rid of him. Sonny is almost discovered a few times, but ultimately manages to escape. He runs straight to Will to relay what he learned but stops when he sees Adrienne is there, too. Meanwhile, Sami and Kate finally convince Gabi to keep quiet. Earlier, Will and Adrienne bond while waiting for Sonny to respond to Will's texts.

Summary: Sonny, Gabi, Kate and Sami cover like crazy when Will and EJ return to the apartment. To the women's dismay, Sonny sneaks out to meet with his dad. Sami and Kate make a beeline for Sonny to talk to him before he can get to Justin. They lay it on thick about how important it is that he keep quiet, but when he leaves to find his father, they're not sure if they've convinced him. Meanwhile, EJ fishes carefully to get Gabi to open up about what is going on. He's clever about it and nearly gets her to spill. He later tracks down Sonny and says Gabi told him everything. Sami arrives at Club TBD, still on the hunt for the missing earring she's been led to believe Ciara might have. She gets Ciara alone and quickly determines that she does indeed have the missing earring stowed away in her backpack. But Ciara isn't giving up her prized earring. She and Sami get in a struggle over the backpack and that's when Hope returns, thrown by the scene before her.

Summary: EJ tries to trick Sonny into revealing the big secret, but Lucas interrupts. Meanwhile, Hope walks in as Sami and Ciara are fighting over the backpack. Hope's incredulous, and Sami has to walk a careful line in explaining how Ciara might have mistakenly come into possession of her missing earring. She finally gets it, privately relieved that an important loose end has been tied up - but now Hope is twigged. As she questions Sami, EJ overhears an interesting piece of information and later confronts Sami in private. Gabi is grateful Sonny hasn't told Justin anything, but Sonny still thinks this is a secret that will blow up badly. Later, Gabi, Lucas, Kate, Sonny and Will take Arianna to have her picture taken with Santa. Kate, Gabi and Sonny receive an alarming surprise.

He wishes she had confided in him sooner, but Sami notes that it was hard, especially after he kept quiet about Kristen. As EJ offers his support, Stefano returns home.

Later, they get a shocking surprise. Elsewhere, EJ insists on taking Sami on a hike in the woods where Nick was killed. He finds a couple of pieces of evidence and warns Sami others could find more. He takes her to the river, where she sees Nick's body and screams.

Summary: EJ assures Sami she only imagined seeing Nick's body in the river. He promises to protect her and make sure no one ever knows what really happened to Nick. Meanwhile, Gabi and Sonny explain Nick's death to a shocked Will. Will shuts down and retreats to attend to a crying Arianna. Gabi alerts Kate, EJ and Sami, who come to help talk down Will. However, Will eventually slips out of the apartment and Sonny goes out to search for him.

Summary: EJ reassures Gabi, Kate and Sami he will cover up any evidence of Nick's murder. T calls the apartment looking for Sonny - he's in a panic because the club is understaffed for the New Year's Eve crowd. EJ and Sami run over to the club to help out. Earlier, Sonny finds Will and ultimately convinces him he must keep quiet about Gabi, Sami and Kate's involvement in Nick's death for Arianna's sake. Will and Sonny go to the club, where Will assures Sami he's (reluctantly) onboard.

Summary: A guilty Will runs into the birdwatcher at the river and fears that the old man knows of Nick's murder. Before Will can get too rattled, Sonny shows up and helps him get rid of the birdwatcher. Will still has doubts they can get away with this but Sonny puts his faith in EJ to cover things up. Elsewhere, EJ presents Sami with the incriminating evidence his men found surrounding Nick's murder. Meanwhile, Gabi meets up with Abigail and freaks out when Abigail gets a message from beyond the grave.

Later, Gabi runs to EJ, who tells her Kate is sending the texts from Nick's phone. When they learn Abigail is on her way to Smith Island to talk to Hope, EJ goes to the cabin to intercept her.
