Well, after what Chandler said what he said after the Emmy, so it was only a matter of time before it becomes what happened. While Chandler asked Days, if he could leave early, but when they find a replacement. It is a wonder that it was so fast that it also very surprised Chandler. Life in this business is tough, and Chandler knows it very well, yes, the way as Chandler finished was unfortunate, but I think he will not lose, and I wish him all the best.

While Chandler should have told his bosses he was not signing a new contract, the suits at Days must have known he was a goner given his Emmys and the fact that young actors have not extended their contracts on this show in ages. Casey was filming his last scenes later that week so this should not have been a surprise for Chandler to leave. I am far less impressed with Chandler than almost everyone on here, but he did not deserve this treatment. It's a horrible way to treat a valuable employee. Unless this recast is someone with a recognizable name and face who actually receives plenty of offers and work, there was no need to recast right now. If the recast is an unknown, Days is only going to create more upset fans. They are working hard enough as it is to drive fans away with the current sparse and pathetic story. Bungling Chandler's departure is shameful. IA. This was just beyond tacky and spiteful of TPTB. Who cares that Chandler announced his exit early? Sure, it would have been better if he had told them beforehand, but it's not as if they didn't have plenty of advanced notice. He didn't try and bail on his contract early and leave them high and dry. Obviously, it didn't take them long to find a replacement. And like LonePirate said, unless this actor is some huge get, and even then I think they could have waited, they didn't need to boot Chandler right after he filmed his final scenes. They at least could have told him that day and given him a chance to savor the moment or say real good-byes to his scene partners. |

As i say before, i think TPTB didn't handle well the situation, there's no reason to not being polite and telling him in advance that his days on the show were numbered because they were near to find the nuWill.
On the other hand i think they did the right thing replacing him. He announced he wanted to go, so the sooner they replace him the better, specially if they have something in store for the couple

Despite Corday's lie, the plan was always to recast Will. We even saw the casting call (Country Boy) that went out two months ago that basically said "We are looking for a Chandler Massey clone". Chandler too knew all along that the show was looking to recast and probably let TPTB know of his desire to leave before his contract expired. He was just shocked that he didn't get advanced notice of when his last day would be. In light of the screen test posted today on DR, I now think "Country Boy" Ben is probably not Will but may be an interim love interest for Abigail while Chad is incapacitated in some way. Nu-Will might have come out of this casting call or the one for Derek (nu-Chad). |

Andy Senita's audition was good but not in the CM range plus I think he's a lot taller than Freddy which really isn't an issue but the change would be rather jarring. |

Perhaps Tyler Sellers will get cast as Will and continue playing Brent at the same time. That would make the love triangle scenes very interesting - lots of split screens and clever camera angles, shooting over the shoulder of a Tyler body double to make it look like Brent and Will are different people. In this version of the story, Brent is drawn to Will because he sees so much of himself in him.  Sonny finds that Brent pushes all the same buttons for him that Will does.  In the end, Will and Sonny reaffirm their love, of course. But Brent gets the last laugh by abducting Will and then impersonating him. Sonny suspects nothing. |

Having to see Sonny, reaching up to kiss Will OR Will gathering up Sonny in his arms and pushing him on their bed. IF, there ever is a potential love/sex scene for them in the future. Like what EJ/Sami or even what Brady/Kristen get to do. |

I was a big fan of Drew when he was on GH and was sad when he was let go. He certainly looks the part.

Looks of course, don't be the defining mark to cast a new actor, but i think if they have a good actor wih similar looks, it will be a mistake to cast someone who looks very different. In the long run, the new actors will own (or not) the role, but having some features in common will help to not distract the audience. In terms of looks, this guy will be perfect for the role (i didn't watch GH, so i don't know if he is a good actor). I still think a good actor won't have any problem to own the role, Chandler is good, nobody denies that, but his performace as Will has it's strengths and it's weaknesses |

I didn't watch GH much either when Drew was on the show for his limited gig. But watching youtube videos I think he's a much better actor than the guy currently playing Michael  . I think he would be perfect in the role. I don't care one way or another if the new actor does or doesn't look much like the previous actor but I think it helps to look at least somewhat similar. I found a coupe of pictures with him older and with facial hair and he looks much older. I agree that on tv they can make you look either older or younger. As long as the new actor coming in is a good actor and isn't scared to portray romantic and intimate scenes playing a gay character, I'm for whoever it is. |
