Yeah, even though he's infinitely more interesting than Jamie, Dillon has receded so far into the background since his gay storyline started. I doubt there will be much movement in the final episode of this season which will air next week, but I hope it will be an improvement over this week's episode which was horrifically dull. Before Series BL spliced together the Dillon scenes from the episode I tried watching the whole thing and nearly feel asleep due to Jamie's storyline which seemed pointless to me. Maybe I'm not invested in football at all, much less in virtual football, so I can't see the appeal of an episode set mostly in a dark gaming room or the juvenile antics of a group of pre-pubescent children. Maybe the BBC is trying to gauge from this season's ratings whether the audience (or their parents) are turning off the TV when the topic of homosexuality comes up, and that will inform how they will handle his story next year (assuming they are renewed for another season). Remember this is a CBBC production aimed at children. There will be the usual conservative parents who will complain about the BBC indoctrinating their kids with the "gay agenda", and there will also be girl viewers who are swooning over Patrick Ward or boys who looked up to him and now don't know how to deal with his homosexuality, especially since there was no real indication of it in previous seasons. I hope the BBC will stick to its guns and give Dillon more airtime (and a love interest) next season, but I won't hold my breath since they are under attack from all sides and might want to play it safe. On the plus side, CBBC did recently air their first same-sex kiss (between two girls) so maybe next year will be Dillon's year for an onscreen boy-on-boy snog. With this years ratings down 10 percent and a lot of hate on this show for this storyline. If it gets a 6th season I think CBBC will play it safe.

www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/tvs-top-5-how-do-cop-shows-move-forward-love-simon-creators-hulu-spinoff-1298118Interesting interview with Love, Victor show runners Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger. Starts at 42:54 For those who don't want to listen to it all: The plan was always going to be working on feedback from the Love, Simon movie (e.g. Simon being privileged, facing few problems and already having established friends) - which of course most viewers have picked up on rather than initial rumours that the TV show would be a Leah on the Offbeat adaptation. Writer's room was one of the first things set up for the show, with specific interest sought out for Hispanic and LGBTQ writers. The showrunners also consulted high schoolers, especially those in GSAs, to seek their feedback on the authenticity of the characters and their issues. (Unsurprisingly a few found the show too tame for their personal tastes!) The main effect of having the show planned for Disney+ rather than Hulu was that a few raunchier jokes were taken out and the language toned down (Disney+ also allows 1 'shit' each episode) - otherwise, the show was still generally aligned with what the writers intended, a relative slow burn where the issues become more mature as the characters grow up with the audience as well. Love, Victor was pitched and taken onboard while Disney+ was still in its conceptualisation phase, hence it was less clear-cut the platform would be very strictly family-friendly. But the showrunners did seem to have an idea the show might be moved as it was under production. ---SEASON TWO AND OTHER FUTURE STUFF BELOW--- One of the things Hulu execs were vocal about when season 2 was pitched was when the characters would start having sex. Based off this interview it seems we will at least get conversations about this 'in a relatively early stage' of the season. The show will absolutely not touch on the COVID-19 pandemic nor incorporate elements of it. However, there is some exploration of how to develop Mia and Andrew's stories further - not necessarily by directly referencing the current protests against racial injustice and police brutality, but nevertheless at least incorporating some of those conversations into the show. How faith affects Victor's family processing his coming out will also play a role in season 2.

I'm going to miss this show so much. It wasn't perfect but it was still one of the better remakes. I'm glad they got two extra seasons because ending it on season 4 (which was the weakest season IMO) would have been an unworthy conclusion. I really wish they would continue with a new cast, and some occasional cameos from the originals, because they obviously have a really good setup behind-the-scenes to produce this. Ideally the same crew can do a new teen drama, without the Skam branding or the "real time" mini-episodes. And then they won't have any outside interference to derail their vision. I was annoyed to read that the France team intended to make Daphne the main character this season but were forced to drop their plans. From what I've read it is renewed for a 7th and 8th season. thetimeshub.in/skam-france-renewed-for-seasons-7-and-8-thanks-to-you-the-adventure-will-always-further/31185/

Okay, but obviously Ruby is going to spread it beyond the three of them for it to get back to Dillon's family. Is next week the season finale? I think there is 10 episodes this season, next week is episode 8.

That really sucks. Why would Elliott betray Dillon's confidence, and why would Ruby think it's a good idea to spread the news to Dillon's homophobic family? I don't think it's going to be Ruby that says anything, but he will find out from someone.

Looks like Elliot is going to out Dillon to Ruby. So it looks like Dillon's homophobic father is going to find out.

This is in the 5th season, Dillion is a series regular and Elliot just join the show. This is suppose to be Dillion's coming out storyline.

What exactly is going on with them right now. Last I knew Ash kissed Sully and his brother saw and wasn't happy. Sully was done with Ash's bull and walked away leaving Ash devastated. But from little I have seen online, Ash has been looking at Sully with longing in his eyes. Yeah it's pretty much a slow burn storyline for them getting together.
