Thanks, Mark! I liked what Menno said at the end and it did allay my skepticism about their relationship somewhat. I guess their relationship is going to be a repeating cycle of Menno approaching the breaking point with Lucas only to pull back and accept him at the last moment. It seems a bit unstable to me, though. If Menno becomes a permanent cast member, I suppose their relationship will survive, but if Menno is a guest character, there's probably going to come a point where Menno just can't deal with it any more. Or perhaps Lucas will get tired of a husband who spends so much time being annoyed at him for being himself in his own home. Menno having such a severe reaction against even the thought of having children makes me think that's exactly what he and Lucas end up with. That would suggest Menno is going to be around for a while, but it's strange how coy the show is being about this. Maybe they've already made it clear that he is not permanent and we're just refusing to see it.

Bing is the obvious suspect if Aysen was the intended target. But it seems too obvious. Hmm...

The show revealed on Twitter and Facebook that someone from the permanent cast killed Mike. So there's probably another cast member who's leaving. That wipes out my Monica theory, but don't worry... I have another! If the parachutes were switched and Mike wasn't the intended target, then that, of course, takes the suspicion off everyone who had a motive to kill Mike, like Nina. The attention turns to Bing, Aysen and Wiet. I was trying to determine which of them is more capable of murder. I found it ironic that Mike, the one who died, is the cast member most capable of killing someone. Then it struck me... What if the person who killed Mike is... Mike! Perhaps he was intending to kill Nina or Noud or Lorena and when the parachute switch happened he ended up with the parachute that he himself had damaged. So poetic justice occurred and Mike's evil deed did him in. This technically satisfies the show's tweet that a permanent cast member did it since Mike was a permanent cast member at the time and in fact is still appearing in the opening credits. And no other permanent cast member would have to leave the show if this is the case. Hmm...

I'm skeptical about whether the marriage is a good idea and even whether Lucas and Menno really work together. Their relationship consists mainly of Menno trying to work while Lucas annoys the hell out of him. Seeing the same scene between them over and over is getting old. And why is it that Lucas always ignores Menno's likes and dislikes as if they don't matter? He wants things his way no matter what, which is not how it works in a marriage. I think Lucas is not ready to be married. How long before he pushes Menno to the breaking point? He's already less enthused than Lucas. It just doesn't seem like a good foundation for matrimony to me.
Also, the degree to which they portray Lucas and Menno's relationship within the context of the murder case makes me wonder if it is going to survive the resolution of the case. I'm increasingly getting the feeling that Menno will be moving on.

I just started watching this soap - watched all the episodes in one go. Thanks Mimi for all your hard work!
In general, I find the story OK, but I don't get what Yannick sees in Ringo. He could do much better. I'm also not thrilled that this gay story line has so far had much more boy-girl action than boy-boy. That's always a bad sign.
About whether or not Yannick is going to stay around... I can see him falling out of love with Ringo fairly easily since there's not much to love really. I think he is going to wise up and move on. But that leaves Ringo as gay so there will probably be another guy at some point.

I like the idea of a teenage son only a few years younger than Lucas. Would that be enough to cause the abject fear we saw in Menno's eyes? Maybe. Maybe the son lives with his mother and doesn't know that his father is gay. If Menno has a son, though, you'd think he would sometimes spends time with him. Don't Lucas and Menno ever talk? Seems like having a child would be hard to hide and one of the first things a person reveals about themselves when entering a relationship. Nevertheless, I think that just the fact that they've given Lucas a lover old enough to have a teenage child probably means that Menno does have a teenage child. But it might be more complicated than that. I wouldn't be surprised if Menno isn't fully out back in his home town. Of course, it's also possible that Menno's fear is at the prospect of marrying into the Sanders family.

I've seen people elsewhere speculating that Menno is already married - to a woman. I suppose that's possible. Perhaps he hasn't always been out and was living a lie for awhile. I'd like to think that he would have just told Lucas that. "We can't get married because first I have to divorce my wife." Also possible is that an old lover of his got killed - perhaps because of a case Menno was investigating. Maybe Menno is a widower. Or perhaps Menno isn't really out to his family and friends back in his home town. That would explain why he likes to be much more discrete than Lucas. Hmm...

Wow! I teared up. Those were well-acted scenes between Lucas and Menno. In some ways Lucas is the stronger and wiser of the two, but in many other ways his immaturity and childishness compared to Menno comes through. Menno seems very overwhelmed and actually not that enthused - a danger for the future. I wouldn't be surprised if this wedding never comes off - hardly surprising for Meerdijk where every wedding explodes into a nightmare calamity. If the wedding falls apart and they break up, that could be Menno's exit story - so maybe he's not permanent after all. I hope he is.
Menno may simply be more unsure about Lucas and not ready for marriage. Lucas has rushed things far too much, IMO. So much so that I think it would be for the best if the wedding falls through. They need to both be equally enthused if they are going to make a lifelong commitment.
It's possible, as Zathras and others have suggested, that Menno does feel the same about Lucas, but he's afraid. Perhaps there is something in his past that makes him afraid.

Thanks, Mark! Well, I have to say that was a very gay marriage proposal. Ha-ha! I'm not sure it's Menno's style and it looks like he might have a bad reaction. I personally wouldn't like a marriage proposal like that. If someone is going to ask me to marry them, I want to hear the words come out of their mouth, not lip-synched to some cheezy pop song. Of course, if the person asking looked like Lucas, I might get over it. To me, Lucas is rushing things quite a bit, but it's certainly not out of character for him to be so impulsive. I can't figure what the deal is with Aysen. I'm going to have to go back and watch some full episodes.

has somebody can suggest how they will transfer will charachter from our chandler to guy? Freddie has said in an interview that there's not a transition. One day Chandler is playing the role and the next day it's Guy. It's going to be a tough adjustment.

Loved the scene with Noud. Hated the scene with Lorena. But at least Lucas knows she's just for amusement and not to be trusted. I can already sense Menno's influence taking hold in him.

Surprised its happening so soon and when there's a murderer still at large. I hope Noud is Lucas's best man.

I wonder why this just says Sonny's apartment? Sonny's name is on the lease, I think, since he got the apartment when both Will and Gabi were hospitalized. And I think Sonny might be paying for it, too, since as far as I can tell neither Will nor Gabi have a job. So yeah, it kind of is Sonny's apartment.

Thanks, Mark! Yeah, Noud is a sweetheart! <sigh> I liked that Lucas went looking for him like he did. I suspect that Lucas and Menno will end up at the Toko as you thought. Nina, too, with Nola, I bet. Eventually.
Could Ludo really have had Mike killed? From the way Ludo looked and acted after he made the phone call in question, the call was about something far more significant than Ludo's story is letting on. Still, I don't think Ludo had Mike killed. He may have been planning something nasty for Mike, but not death, I think. I think that the story is going to be that when the actual killer is caught, Janine and everyone feel terrible about how they treated Ludo. The truth about Maxime's scheme against Janine is going to come out and both Ludo and Janine will then have something major that they need to forgive each other for. I think that by season's end Ludo and Janine are back together and Maxime has been expelled from the mansion.

Clever observation, Mark. The thing that struck me most about this video is how incredibly beautiful Guido's face is with his hair pulled away. The man has exquisite bone structure. I'm kind of hoping Sjoerd decides to cut his hair.

Oh dear! What a mess. I wish Lucas hadn't accused Ludo in that way. I don't think Ludo did it. I wonder what Menno was going to say before Lucas went on his rant. I did like that we got to see that Lucas and Noud's relationship is far stronger than the current nastiness. I hope we get a lot more scenes with them this season. Interesting that Janine is moving back into the mansion. Lucas, I guess, will be moving out.

I think Sonny is a bit beyond a mere appendage to Will now, although it's true that the story still revolves around Will. Sonny's relationship with Gabi seems to have become distinct from Will and is its own story to a degree, so there's progress, I think, in Sonny becoming more than an appendage. Call me psychic, but I think Nick is not going to take getting dumped by Gabi well. I'm going to go out on a limb and predict that he's going to cause some trouble.

Thanks, Mark! I feel that Lucas really isn't being fair to Menno. Someone has been murdered after all. Lucas himself isn't sure Nina is innocent. Probably it is for the best that they take a break for now.
I'm curious about why Aysen is becoming more central to the story. She's so very eager to see someone nailed for the murder. Perhaps too eager...

That was weird. EJ just appeared out of the bushes and ordered them to stop arguing. Weird too that there was not a real kiss after that. Yes, the writers have done it clumsily, but apparently Sonny is getting tired of the whole situation. When he suggested to Gabi that his and Will's relationship was not as wonderful as she thought it was, that was another sign of it, I guess. He can't stand Gabi, I think, and is getting tired of all the baggage that comes along with Will. But if their relationship reaches a crisis point, it's hard to believe - after today - that it will be all that serious or last more than a few minutes. Yet clearly there are more bumps in the road to come...

The latest episode shows Sonny becoming more of the focus, I think. When did we ever get lengthy scenes of Sonny interacting with a number of characters and story lines with Will not around? And I didn't see any Will when Sami was celebrating her release. I wonder if they've started editing out Chandler whenever feasible.

I wonder if her and Guido will have any more scenes together. It would be pretty strange for Sjoerd to return home and have a different mother.

Thanks, Mark!
It seems like they have the same scene over and over - Menno is trying to do a very serious job and Lucas is buzzing around in his face like a fly. A lot of their dialog consists of various forms of Menno pleading for Lucas to leave him alone.

The only negative comments on Guy's FB page are all by the same woman. All others are positive and supportive. Has there ever been a recast of a popular character that didn't cause some consternation? Probably not. I'm mainly relieved that it's not Drew, which I think would have been a mistake. Guy is sufficiently good looking, IMO. Will is not supposed to be a stud, but more the cute, vulnerable nice guy type. Guy also seems to be regarded as a good actor. No doubt it's going to take some getting used to, but if Guy can bring more passion to the role, I'll make a quick adjustment. One thing about Chandler's portrayal that I think falls short is that I never get the sense that Will has the hots for Sonny. Hopefully Guy will be more comfortable portraying a guy who's horny for another guy.
