Thanks for the updates -- looks like the writers are playing the long long game with David and Aaron...

That spoiler is the most interesting thing I've read about the show's gay storyline in a long time. Aaron and David have been incredibly chaste and predictable. Still, I suppose they're a step up from H&A which still refuses to have a gay character after all these years. They keep introducing families of boys/men but every single one of them is hetero.

This scene was particularly cute.

Yeah, that was pretty cute. It seems as though there's going to be quite a lot of drama coming up for David and Aaron when Neighbours returns in January (highlight below to read): David is going to ask Aaron to marry him in the first episode of the new season (8th January). However, Rory turns up just as David is proposing, which causes Aaron to freak out and run off. There's also going to be a new (guest) gay character arriving early next year named Nick. He'll be played by Joel Creasey and has been described as a 'misunderstood stalker', who will presumably become entangled in the storyline with Aaron, David and Rory.

I find it odd that David is the one proposing when he was the one who backed out of moving in with Aaron because he wanted to take a shot at living with his family although stranger things have happened!

Things are getting heated up
Some people keep saying David is just a drama queen. But I don't agree. Aaron kept the truth from the beginning to hide his own insecurities (not only to avoid hurting David) and his behaviour hasn't done any good to build a trustful relationship with David. Moreover, Aaron's naïveness towards Rory is already bordering foolishness.

the truth is that Aaron should've been honest about Rory from the beginning. It's not like Aaron and Rory did anything in Paris that he would have to keep private

This is an interesting situation; neither David nor Aaron are in the right or the wrong. I think the issue stems from the characters' insecurities, which were explored briefly before they got together (though not really mentioned since). Aaron feels insecure about David's insecurities: he knew that David would react badly if he'd told him the truth about Rory, which is why he didn't. Unfortunately, Rory's arrival made things more difficult, so Aaron was stuck between a rock and a hard place. Bear in mind that the Brennan's have been through a lot lately (Russell passing away, everyone finding out that Tyler is Hamish's son, Hamish manipulating Tyler, Tyler attacking Hamish, and Hamish dying), so the last thing Aaron needed was for David to get upset and accuse him of hooking up with Rory in Paris.
Also, I would argue that there was no need for Aaron to tell David that he and Rory met up in Paris; it was none of David's business. Fair enough, if something had happened between them, or if Aaron had known that Rory would turn up in Erinsborough, then he should have told David (and he probably would have). Obviously, once Rory showed up, Aaron should have told David the full story (probably during that conversation they had after the failed proposal); and him withholding the information about Paris wasn’t a good idea, but Aaron didn't do anything wrong. There was no reason to tell David anything about Rory, and Aaron’s reasons for not saying anything to him when he first came back from Paris made sense. I think that Aaron's actions have been driven by his need to please people: he kept the truth about Paris from David because he didn't want to hurt him, and agreed to help Rory with his audition because he didn't want to let the troupe down again (and because he felt guilty for Rory's injury, and for asking Rory to lie to David). That's not to say that he hasn't made bad decisions (he is a soap character, after all), but he made them for good reasons.
Anyway, I’m not against them breaking up, because they both have issues they need to deal with, but it shouldn’t have been David breaking up with Aaron. David’s behaviour has been worse than Aaron’s over the past few months, but the show seems to be portraying him as the victim. David committed the bigger betrayal by going behind the Brennan’s backs and contacting Hamish before Tyler was ready to meet him, which started the chain of events. Aaron forgave him almost immediately, despite the damage his actions caused (and Aaron wouldn’t have even been in Paris were it not for David bringing Hamish to Erinsborough), so it's unfair that Aaron is being depicted as the bad guy. Although, technically Rory is the bad guy here (though it seems like he's more of a catalyst for bringing David and Aaron's issues to the surface, and the upcoming stalker storyline, wherever that ends up going). I also like the fact that he's sexy and shameless in his actions, and isn't being painted as a victim - unlike David.

wish they'd bring back Chris Pappas That might be difficult considering that he would have a two-year-old daughter by now, who he wouldn't abandon just to move back to Erinsborough. Unless Lucy and their child returned with him, I don't think they could bring Chris back, at least not full-time. Besides, his family don't live in Ramsay Street, and pretty much all of the characters he was close to during his time on the show have left, so there wouldn't really be anyone for him to stick around for. It would be great to have them all visit though, as it would mean more family for Paul (and I would kind of like to see Chris and David interacting), but it wouldn't be a long-term return. Personally, I'd rather they brought back Nate: he had so much potential, and I hated what the writers did to him towards the end. Whilst Karl and Susan are still around, there's a chance that Nate could return; I think there's unfinished business with him.

There have been some new spoilers released involving David and Aaron that I thought were worth mentioning (highlight below to read):
Although the storyline with Rory and Mick is coming to an end in the next few episodes, spoilers suggest that David is going to get a new love interest in a couple of weeks. A guest character named Rafael (played by Ryan Thomas - the actor who used to play Todd Grimshaw's brother, Jason, in Coronation Street) is going to take an interest in David, and arranges a date with him. However, Rafael is trying to get revenge on Paul for an unknown reason, so he apparently storms out of his date with David when he discovers that David is Paul's son. It's still quite vague at the moment, but Rafael makes his first appearance on the 12th February, during Neighbours' late-night special episode in the UK, and he's expected to be on-screen until March/April.
