Kes - I thought you were going! Don't you live very close? I do understand not having enough money, or time. I'm not sad that I'm not there, because if I really wanted to, I would've made it happen. (It's actually just not my kinda thing) I'm just excited to hear back from our wonderful and fortunate friends, who did end up going! I'm happy they get to live out their dreams to meet these wonderful actors! And Zam ... you know what you have to do.

Blog Post #1 3/25/10 – 5:09pm EST
Hi Everyone! Greetings from New York City!!!!
As I think about what I’d like to tell Jo and Thore when I meet them, I think about all the great scenes large and small that they’ve played over the past 2+ years, all the times they were just background for other characters and still managed to portray some charming bit of intimacy or cute moment. They are consummate professionals but they also care about what they’re doing, about promoting gay visibility and social acceptance through artistic excellence.
Jo and Thore have given us a loving couple, and as mundane as that might sound, it’s really pretty revolutionary. Christian and Olli are a committed, non-stereotypical gay couple that has stayed together against the odds and are treated like any other couple, both by the other characters and by the show itself. Given what we’re used to in American TV, this really IS revolutionary.
When I watch the fan videos I’m struck by how many beautiful kisses these two have had, how many passionate love scenes, and how many emotional reconciliations—it’s really pretty amazing. And while I might complain about the current storyline, the absurdity that is Chrebecca, I cannot help but be thankful that Das Erste has stuck with the couple for so long. The HBO deal is evidence that they made the right decision!
As a playwright and screenwriter myself, I’ve worked with a lot of actors, and Jo and Thore are truly special. Not only because they are 100% committed to presenting their characters honestly and fearlessly, but also because they have the most amazing onscreen chemistry I’ve ever seen. Their friendship, which is so deep and intense many people assume they’re a couple in real life, enables them to be so free and intimate with each other onscreen. Whatever their sexual orientation as actors, Jo and Thore are able to achieve a level of realness and erotic charge in their love scenes that is often missing in gay portrayals on TV or film.
So what do I want to say to Jo and Thore? I guess the main thing is thank you. Thank you for sticking with the show even when you had very little to do, thank you for making the most of every scene, and thank you for making so much magic for us to enjoy.
NEXT: Get ready for the Pre-Party! Fans of VL, GZSZ and OLTL will meet, drink and sing Karaoke. So who will take the stage to sing ‘Breathe Me?”

Last night was a blast. There were about 30 of us, all told, that gathered for the 2nd on 2nd pre-party. We began breaking the ice by gathering in a reserved room - thanks SoloMom and Thunderkat for arranging. It was an inspired idea as it made putting faces with screen names (and real names) very easy. Fifteen minutes, one drink and a resounding chorus of New York, New York later and we were best buds. Awkwardness gone, good times began. After the hour we moved to general karaoke area where our enthusiasm attracted much attention from the crowd (gets a little X rated here - you know who you are . I was blown away by the number of Chrolli fans who can SING. I don't mean karaoke sing, I mean get up on stage professionally sing. Those who couldn't - like me - enjoyed our role as back up dancers. We all must contribute as best we can! I'm looking at the clock and in three short hours we meet Jo and Thore! I'm generally not the nervous type but definitely am staying busy so I don't have time to think too much. As much as I'm looking forward to finally meeting the boys, I am also looking forward with equal delight to hanging out with the "Crazy Chrolli Crew" again tonight. Cheers for now and more updates when they're available - or we're sober enough to write them

Blog Post #2 - Jo & Thore Sighting!!!!
I am happy to report a completely-by-chance sighting of Jo and Thore checking in to the Hampton Inn in Chelsea. Our own Solomom67 and Scarpien just happen to be dropping off another Chrolli fan when Scarpien caught a random glimpse of blonde highlights and thought to himself, "gee that looks a lot like Thore." Well, of course, it was the man himself, chatting casually with a certain Jo Weil.
Now, any of you who know Scarpien at all will realize the enormity of this moment. Luckily Solomom67 was there to stop Scarpien from charging Jo and tackling him.
In the interest of decorum, they decided to give the boys a bit of privacy while they checked in, but tonight it's going to be open season!
We can also report that Thore had ALOT of luggage-- because you know the boy has to look pretty for us all.
