Rob knows exactly what he is doing...sweet up the all too naive Olli. Make him feel like he is special just bordering on the edge of fame. Fu*k things up between him and his boyfriend while at the same time feed him the false loyalty, trust and desire for him. Make him feel that you will guarantee him fame and fortune. Then you sell your crack, cocaine, poppers...anything that you can. When things start to look shaky...move out quick and onto your next victim, leaving NL in ruins. Looking at how the story has played out so far I don't think Rob has legitimate feelings for Olli. He is a drug dealer who is out to make money at any cost. Hell...it wouldn't surprise me if Rob wasn't even gay. These type of people have no shame and will do just about anything. They don't care who they destroy in the process as long as they get to sell their drugs. Let me just throw this thought out here. I may be completely wrong. WHAT IF: the writers have a long break in store for Olli & Christian? WHAT IF: Rob is being painted in dark (yet seductive) colors right now on purpose to make us hate him now...but not later? WHAT IF: Rob's stint on the show is for longer than we all figure? (look at where he is in the credits, listed with the main cast, not at the bottom with Miriam and Justus and, most importantly, where EDUARD used to be. The show may have bigger plans for Rob. What if we're being made to hate the character so that when C&O inevitably break up (temporarily, even if it's longer than we want), St. Olli redeems him. While Rob doesn't necessarily completely fit the label, the dramatic archetype of the "hooker with a heart of gold" is one of the oldest. It may be planned for him to be "the sinner who is redeemed". Olli's goodness manages to overcome Rob's badness...if only for a while...and he falls for Olli also. But it's very clear that Olli is blind now to Rob's dastardly machinations. I struggle with Christian leaving a little bit. The problem is that it seems like he's doing that a lot lately - avoiding things rather than trying to discuss them. Ordinarily I would have wanted him to stay, but this time Olli was so angry . The part that bugs me the most about it: Christian didn't make Olli "act like a fool." All he did was to ask Olli to be cautious, and not just trust whatever Robert says (a guy he hardly knows). The line "this euphoria about the parties has made you forget who you can trust and who you can't" needed to be said, but I fear it fell on deaf ears. Ugh, why does Christian have to remind Olli of the trust they (used to?) have . True, but... Olli has always been impetuous. Look at his sudden decision to buy into NL when Charlie didn't like his ideas for Schneider's. He was hasty, and then he whined when someone said no. Olli has a habit of doing without really thinking. Christian was probably right to leave when he did. Otherwise, given Olli's behavior lately (stable-party fight, for instance), if Christian tries to defend himself, Olli will become more unreasonable and the fight will be worse. Regardless, they're getting one hell of a story out of this. And a credit to the actors also, they are playing this so extraordinarily well. They easily communicate that the other is "pressing their buttons", they react perfectly to a single word in some cases that sends them completely over the edge. For christian, that word is "Rob". for Olli, it's several words, one of which is "Rob". --------------- I have one tiny little problem with this story at the moment. It has nothing to do with the actors, or even the words. It has everything to do with where the writers are moving the chess pieces on this board right now. Best described this way: Olli is the damsel in distress. Olli needs rescuing. I get that crisis in relationships on soaps can really only be played in so many ways, and the dynamics aren't that different even though this is a same-sex couple. Especially with a character as innately nice and trusting as Olli, but in a way it bothers me that it feminizes Olli to an extent. Especially since Christian is the athlete and sportsman. During the boxing story when Christian needed help, he was hardly ever a damsel. This story seems different that way. Maybe I'm overreacting. My suspicion makes me a little nervous about how the show might portray Olli by the time this story is through.
