Just edited Nanna/tihkon's subbed vid (vielen dank, Nanna/tihkon!) into the beginning of the thread. Just off to watch now.... Thanks so much Nanna and Tihkon!!!! Wow. I love this. Rob is so delightfully evil (well, maybe not evil). We know he is Evil when he says, "Food is overrated." Christian (the symbol for good) would never say that. I love Rob almost as much as Tanja. I can't wait for tomorrow.

Drama! We've finally got it for Christian and Olli after waiting much too long. Yeah We get a post coital chat. Brief, I know but it was there. We get a roll in the hay, for our boys. Maybe it would have been better to see it as the prelude to their outdoor sex session, but a roll after will also do. Most of all I like all the alone time Christian and Olli had in this episode. I know that may seem a contradiction as the episode is about Christian feeling a bit neglected by Olli now that Rob seems to be sublety trying to seduce in all manner of ways. There's just so much to really like about this episode. So thanks to everyone that helped to get the episode synopsis, screen caps episodes, subtitles etc on here. Love you all for that. Saying all that I have a small niggle about the episode. It's what has stopped me from saying I love the episode. I really, really, want to love it, but I just can't and the reason is Thore Thore is gorgeous, stunning and often makes me doubt my allegiance to the wonderful Jo. When Thore is on top form, he is absolutely mesmerising and he was particulary hot in this episode. I could hardly tear my eyes away from him. And that's the problem, because I'm so focussed I can see in his body language that he is a straight man playing gay and that it seems like he mustn't appear to like it too much or immerse himself totally into the character. For example in the stables for the most part his body language seemed to be shouting I don't want to be here. Angle of body, lack of movement of arms, face turned away from Jo. Lovely as Joanna's caps and stimilon's montage are, sometimes to me at least they emphasise, this unease, this holding back that Thore has with portraying Christian's relationship with Olli. A point in question was Christian kissing David on the cheek. Thore approached that scene with a lot more gusto and passion. Why was that? It's a shame, because in the beginning Thore didn't have that restraint in his portrayal of being gay. You would think that he would be a lot easier and chilled out by now, but instead although his head is maybe saying he is cool and takes it all in his stride, maybe he doesn't quite feel it deep down inside. Could it be that it's because he is currently single as far as we know. If he had a partner like for example Igor who plays Dennis in AWZ or Gale who played Brian in Queer as Folk he would be more secure in himself and play Christian more freely. What do people think? Thanks Joanna ;D for the caps

Sorry,
I completely and utterly disagree with your post. I can't say it's wrong. Because it's an opinion that is based on something that is highly subjective. But I can again say, I do not find any of your post to be something I'm seeing and I disagree with the resulting conclusion you have come to regarding Thore .
I also feel the comparison to Gale Harold is unhelpful and unfair. I don't find that comparison valid as it's apples and oranges to me , and Thore shouldn't be held up to Gale's performance in a limited run series of 12 or so episodes per season vs. Thore's performances in literally hundreds of episodes. A soap actor is going to have good days and bad days and there will not be 10 takes per scene.
re: Igor from AWZ, I don't know. I don't watch it. And even if I did, I'm not about to start a fan war. But I will say, that I find Thore much more believable as a gay character than a majority of the actors in other long running gay storylines covered on this website.
And for the record, in my viewing, today's episode was not a"bad" Thore or Jo day.
I cannot comment on the how, and why, you see Thore's performances, because I don't share your opinion of it. But I do wonder when I see something like this about an actor's performance, if it really is a matter of over analyzing something to the point of ruining it for ones' self. I'm not saying that is the case, but it is something that crosses my mind.
I hope you're not offended by my thoughts on this. And of course you're welcome to your opinion. But it sure ain't mine. ;D

Thanks Joanna ;D for the caps First let me say how I loved this episode. At last we have a storyline for Ollian. It's been a long time coming. And how refreshing was it that in yesterday's and todays eps have been Rebecca free. So thank you so much Nanna, Tihkon, joanna and Sonneschein. You are all the best. ;D Flippa..I know there has been a little breaking down of the stable scene and how Thore held his body and arms in comparison to Jo, but I don't think it's his personal choice to do this. I remember on a interview when either Jo or Thore said every single position of when and where their hands, legs and head is place is by instruction. Basically Jo and Thore don't have much say in how their body is presented during intimate scenes. Even how they kiss and for how long is by exact direction. So I think the way Thore's body looks in comparison to Jo's in not because Thore is somehow now suddenly shy or put off by having his body being pressed up against Jo's beautiful physique...Geez, his been playing intimate with Jo for the past two years...but simply as directed. I even remember in another interview they mentioned how the Vlog is not improvised but everything is followed to the last detail. We must also remember VL does air at 6:30pm and it appear these new writers/producers are not as forthcoming with certain scenes with Ollian as Chroust, who himself got some complaints about the shower scene Ollian had way back when. And we only have to look at yesterday to see how the sneak peek stable scene with Ollian didn't air on TV only on the internet. So the VL team are being somewhat careful. Personally I think Thore is very comfortable playing intimate with Jo. I think they both have the utmost respect, trust and friendship between them which has resulted in the most amazing chemistry I've ever seen between two people put on screen. Their chemistry really can't be understated. This episode itself I thought was terrific. Robert is what would be considered a smooth operator and Olli, always the overly ambitious one is just caught up in having NL be the 'IT' place that he is blinded to how Robert not only desires him, but wants Christian out of the way so he can step in and take the grand prize. I have to agree with Christian refusing to have some dance party at the stables. Christian should not back off his decision but stand his ground. It's really going too far and just a stupid idea. I really loved that little dance Christian did in the towel. Christian has got rhythm. And just so many hot moments in this ep...plenty of kissing, cuddling, and desiring. They were all over each other and so in love. But then that ending. Jo was great with his change in facial expression when Christian said no he would not agree to a party. It was from joy to disbelief in a micro second. I think Olli was shocked because it's so rare that Christian will say no to something he asks. Cannot wait for tomorrow's ep. ;D

Thanks Joanna ;D for the caps I think that we should quickly get you, Nitty, thunderkat and Mistress Vixen in Cologne, so that Thore gets a girlfriend and thus is more eager to suck face with Jo! ;D ;D ;D Although with one of you super-f*g-hags as a gf, he'd probably be forced to do that. Or he'd be pressured for an MMF session with his gf and Jo... yeah that's creepy. In other words, I kinda notice that too sometimes, Flippa. Although there can be many different reasons; 1) it's editorially mandated to foreshadow that maybe Christian isn't that much into Olli anymore, to make the writer's possible future plans seem more plausible (dont even want to consider that) 2) Thore had a falling out with Jo and is now giving him the cold shoulder 3) Jo has got a jealous significant other who threatened to hurt his horses if he puts the moves on Jo again 4) Jo stopped brushing his teeth altogether ;D 5) he got bored of touching Jo inappropriately? it happens to some of us with real relationships, why can't it happen to someone who pretends he's into one? 6) it's his silent protest that they brought a brand new hottie to be in Olli's storyline, while he's stuck for 8 months with miss What'sherface? Your theory is most plausible, Flippa, but it kinda shines this tiiiiiny little prejudice light on Thore and I don't really want it to be true Especially when he's so cool with fans like us who embrace his undeniable heterosexuality. (I even promised him my sister, in a letter, lol!) ;D

Both Thore and Jo are way ahead regarding believability as a couple when it comes to those other long and short running, past and present gay storylines. So some of those other shows have the guys be more sexually explicit, but that doesn't equal believability, amazing chemistry and flat out top notch acting...which Jo and Thore have in abundance. Trust me...i've taken a glimpse of those other gay storylines/love stories...and no disrespect to these other actors...but they DO NOT/CANNOT match what Jo and Thore bring to the screen. I thought yesterdays and today's episode demonstrated why Jo and Thore blast all those other TV couples...straight or gay...out of the water. They are truly spectacular on screen together. Jo and Thore have brought us in Ollian/Chrolli a love story for the ages. Something we now see so many other gay storylines trying to master.

I think Thore's portrait of Christian is already a classic, a milestone in TV gay characters. I'm a gay man, and I confess that Thore ( "undeniably heterosexual" guy) always fooled me into believing he can't be straight, he must be gay. That good is his characterization of Christian...

(I even promised him my sister, in a letter, lol!) ;D I am NOT a f*g Hag. I'm a chrolli-sexual and a Kish-aholic. there is a difference sir, there is a difference now excuse me while i research ticket prices to cologne. I don't know/ don't care if it will have any demonstrable effect on his performance, i'm just more into the sucking face part... And Mitsaso, obviously theory number 6 is right on target, i mean if i'd been working w. Jo for two years I'd be possessive as well, lol. Flippa, viscerally i responded the same way - at first, but I definitely don't attribute it to any discomfort on Thore's part, I think it's just lazy directing really. They were in an outdoor location, they got the shot and they leave, end of the story. I think the direction here is to showcase their respective characters (as this writer sees them) Olli as exuberant and affectionate, Christian as reserved and standoffish. Whoever was writing/directing, during the summer allowed Christian to be more demonstrative, but i think the fact that they're talking about not having time for eachother, it's a valid directing choice to have Christian be a little tense...

Excellent episode!
As for Thore's supposed reticence when it comes to playing intimate scenes, I just do not see that at all. Jo and Thore have the most natural and amazing chemistry of any 2 actors I have ever seen. It's clear that they have a deep friendship off-screen which adds to their performances on-screen. Thore is completely committed to his role-- if he wasn't there would be no way he could pull off the kind of intensely erotic scenes we've seen time and time again from these two. If there's some stiffness in Thore's body language it is most likely because the director requested he do it that way, not because Thore has some hesitation about being physical with Jo. I'm sure he got over that a long time ago.

For example in the stables for the most part his body language seemed to be shouting I don't want to be here. Angle of body, lack of movement of arms, face turned away from Jo. Olli: What's the matter? You're waaaaayyyyyy over there... Christian: Nothing (finishes buckling his pants) Olli: (tickling Christian with a piece of hay) It's something... tell me Christian: (small shrug) Someone might still be here Olli: So? (kissing Christian) Christian: (trying to think while kissing Olli) I, uh, (not successful in thinking) Olli: (still kissing) you what? Christian: (pushing Olli back slighly to get oxygen into his brain) If my boss find out I'll be in trouble. I like this job. Olli: (rolls away and starts to get dressed) Ok. You're right. Christian: (pulls Olli back on top of him) Where do you think you're going?

Why do people have to read so much into everything. I believe Thore and Jo are comfortable with each other by now since playing there character for almost three years together.

aww Liz, what a way to soothe the savage beast! All this talk about Thore being "uncomfortable/akward/directors fault......to hell with it all. We got a fanatastic long awated "after sex" scene and I, for one, am extatic about it. Thanks to everyone who had a hand (no pun intended) in putting this up there for us to watch.

you know i agree with a lot of what flippa says - not all but a lot. and i feel bad now cos i made a big deal of it in the sneak preview thread yesterday. but to be honest, as uncomfortable and as unnatural as he looked in 10 secs of the haystack scene, he redeemed himself in the kitchen scene. i don't know what it was, thore, director, weather that day - whatever, it didn't come off quite how i expected. but then nothing really does with VL and in the scene after thore proved he's a confident actor. so swings and roundabouts really. there were things he could have done to make that arm look more comfortable, it wasn't so much the position as the way it was still and looked like it was being 'held' were it was (uncomfortably). but it's not ALL thore's fault. someone should have said. but then maybe they were trying to CONVEY something, not everyone is relaxed and elegant in a bale of hay. maybe christian got so OVERexcited - it being a while and all, and with his myocarditis- he's desperately trying to calm himself down before olli gives him a lust related heart attack?! the possibilities are endless.

I would have loved a scene too where Christian is totally into cuddling but I didn't see it as dramatic. It seemed like they both had the thought that they need "that" more often and Olli chose the right direction to talk about it and when they did Christian seemed happier. The flatshare scene then made up for it because I don't think I saw Christian happier in the last months and both acted like they used to. My original fear was that they go the way to tell us they changed somehow or Olli did but that scene made clear they still have the basis. If they wouldn't work in scenes like this (also from the writing) I would be more worried. In the last months exactly scenes like that weren't in the episodes because it wasn't needed for the plot (probably because they always used at least one scene for Rebecca and so on). I loved Christians little crazy stare like he wants to kill "Rob" in that moment. But it wasn't like it was wrong that Olli was excited about the horse thing. I think he really was.

Thanks Joanna ;D for the caps I agree with you to a certain degree. I said something similar in the sneek preview post. I dont think many people agreed with me either but everybody's entitled to an opinion - no wrongs or rights just differences. However, when it seems to cause such a kerfuffle I sometimes wonder why I bother. I mean much as I love Chrolli at the end of the day it's only a soap and I have plenty other things to be worried or stressed about. What I'm trying to say is I dont like sometimes when the discussions get heated. Does anyone get me?
