I would not pick on the translation. Bad or good, somebody still made an effort so that those linguistically challenged can understand it.

Awwwwwww Flips, I do love how your mind works ;D Thanks for that! Re Translation: Well English is not my first language, but even I struggled with some words, when watching the subtitled clip. You are right Ivan! Someone put some effort into translating what they were saying. And I do believe we are all very grateful, that they provided the subs as well. I am just asking myself, if I would wanna know, if my translation wasn't just off, but down right wrong at some points. And the answer is yes. Funny or awkward I can live with, but wrong is something else entirely. Oh and Erwin was last seen in their bedroom, when Judith and Chrissi had that talk after Olli fired Chrissi. You can see him clearly behind Judith sitting in the shelf between the door and the balcony. (He was there on the June 4th epi as well, it just took me a while to be able to concentrate on the background ) Need to watch those last epis again to see if I can find him. Woe is me ;D ;D ;D

I have to check that episode, I haven't seen him for a long time ;D As for the translation, with people having a direct line to them, I think it would better be done that way. I think they know it's not good. Anyway, learn the language. Any translation is necessarily a translator's interpretation of the original. Unless it is google's translation, then it's anyone's guess what that is

The handcuffs part of your video made me literally laugh out loud, flippa. Loved it! As for the translation, I certainly hope my above comment isn't seen as picking on it, because I'm entirely and totally grateful for it. I mean, I couldn't have written my long ass comments about the vlog if I didn't know what they are saying. I'm a beggar and I am not a chooser!! End of story.

About my above comment(s): I still haven't seen the subbed video I watched the German one while talking to my friend on the phone with him translating then he checked the English video and told me what the subs said. I will take any translation I will get, since I couldn't see the subbed video I woke my friend up to get a translation (at least he isn't mad at me Said friend learned German, English (and French) all at the same time (his Mam is French-Italian, his Dad is German-French) so he is fluent in the language. I'm trying to learn German but am having a bit of a hard time (my teacher sped through everything). So I'm not complaining (I know when I translate things from one language to another I always do a completely literal translation and end up confusing myself, so I'm one to talk :0) Flippa: loved the video it was cute

Sonnenschein, you were right, Erwin is on the shelf. Although how could you see it with Olli in his "Heute bedient der Chef" outfit standing next to it is beyond me I had to rewind twice ;D I guess the chicken on the shelf symbolises that Christian does not have to choke it anymore

Poor Erwin, I guess he's reduced to 'voyeur' status now. BTW, references to our dear Erwin reminds me of my favorite chicken joke: A chicken and an egg are lying in bed.
The chicken is leaning against the headboard smoking a cigarette, with a satisfied smile on its face.
The egg, clearly angry, grabs the sheet, rolls over, and says,
"Well, I guess we finally answered THAT question."

(thanks Zam, at least i figured out it was just me having problems. yay! finally got to watch it again and again...) shirley, please tell "someone" how utterly grateful we are to have this, it's gonna be like christmas every friday for me!! i'd be curious to know if any part of these vlogs are going to be improvised or are they following a set script? (i seem to remember one or both of them saying in an interview that while filming the episodes they have to stick to the dialog as written.) as Ivan pointed out we are getting as much if not more than we get in an average episode of Oli and Christian, and having the additional insight into the character's thoughts and feelings is fantastic. my personal .02 on the translations, is that i'm just so very flattered that they thought to add english subs at all as it's obvious that they are thinking of their international fans. if they aren't spot on, that's fine by me as the general gist is clear and the acting shines. plus, it should just make us appreciate our wonderful translators here on the board who go the extra km to ensure we get the most subtle nuances right

I think it is a good fit for Olli and a PERFECT fit for Jo. I do agree that Christian is more iffy. I wouldn't mind if Olli did a few solo episodes. I think one in character problem is for me that Christian doesn't really know the Ibiza friends, so with who he is I would assume that he would feel weird talking to them. It would make sense if they were sending these to Andi, Coco, Constantin or somebody else they know.

It did seem like an acting exercise for the first few minutes of the vlog, but I loved the entire presentation. It was satisfying to the voyeur in me, especially when they joked about how things would be turning X-rated. (It actually looked like one of those porn web sites for a few seconds there when the guys were going at it). Nonetheless, this is such a great testament to the characters and a wonderful shout out to those outside of Germany who adore this coupling, the show and these particular actors. I cannot wait for the future installments. And who needs to fanwank now when the boys can do it for us?

fanwank "To fill in plot holes or explain away lapses in continuity in fictional works by coming up with (often convoluted) explanations of how it could have happened." Source: www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=fanwankHope this answers your question

Okay, after watching it about ten dozen times, ahem, I've determined that my favorite moment of the entire first vlog is Christian's reaction to Olli saying that he doesn't want to lose him. Absolutely great. I could watch that moment on repeat, frankly. It's really truly excellent acting. Hooray for Thore! (Jo's acting was awesome, too, throughout, but that's my favorite moment.)

I just picked the greatest week to be away from the computer last week. Amazing episodes and the start of the vblog. Of course I knew about all of this beforehand but I’m still a little pissed off at myself . Having seen all of last week's episodes on TV without the help of subtitles or even the recaps I sometimes feel understand more from the other scenes than the C&O ones - I'm sure it's because I get distracted/blinded by the looks and sheer charisma of our guys. I remember that there was a lot of discussion on the spoiler discussion thread a couple of months ago about what Christian's look in the bedroom scene in the July 8 episode meant - concern, longing, anticipation, looking for reassurance - it was better than all of those things combined. So is this. There isn’t much that they guys can do that isn’t incredibly affectionate and lovable. Hopefully the boys will be on tonight.

HelpWhat does " Tscho with Tcholli" mean at the close of the vlog? I've tried google and babelfish but no luck. There's a typo in there. It should be "Tschö mit Tscholli" Tschö is a variation of Tschüss which means "Bye!" and Tscholli is a nickname for a guy who's nice but a bit slow on the uptake. Basically it's a very silly wordplay on "Bye-bye!" which rhymes with Christian and Olli. I'm really glad it didn't have to translate that bit. It probably would have taken Tihkon and me 20 minutes to come up with something that made both sense in English and got the joke across.

I've been downloading all of the clips to my computer, so that if there are ever issues with youtube and the clips are no longer available on-line, I'll still have them. I'd love to do the same with these vlog entries, but I can't figure out how to download them. I have a few programs I've used in the past to download on-line videos, but none of them seem to work. Does anyone know of a program that I can use for this?
