I am not sure if I will make it til the results of Props 4 and 8 come in. It's that third glass of Gewürtstraminer kicking in but I am hoping they're defeated. It's going to be tight either way. WTF ?? Michelle Bachmann was re-elected. Oh, EPIC FAIL. I hope Franken can pull out a win in Minnesota. North Carolina still hasn't been called for electoral votes? Well, at least Liddy Dole lost her Senate seat. YES WE CAN.

The world reacts to Obama's win: www.americablog.com/2008/11/world-reacts.html WTF ?? Michelle Bachmann was re-elected. Oh, EPIC FAIL. Seriously? How? The mind boggles. Some people just don't learn! Sadly, SF's Prop R to rename the sewage plant after George W Bush failed. I am disappointed cause it was so apt, but oh well. At least it made it on the ballot. Follow Prop 8 (and Prop 4) results here: www.sfgate.com/election/races/2008/11/04/

The shock and the weariness that went with it are starting to wear off and now I'm starting to get all excited and hyper. ;D Just as it's getting really late and I was wanting to go to bed.

Wow. The latest in the Franken race has them seperated by less than 100 votes!!! They are saying there will probably be a recount.

Wow. The latest in the Franken race has them seperated by less than 100 votes!!! They are saying there will probably be a recount. Minnesota law calls for an automatic recount for any state or federal contest with a 0.5% margin of victory (although it can be waived by the loosing candidate). Given the number of votes currently posted for the race, that would mean any margin less than 11,000+ would be headed to an automatic recount.

That looks bad. I really can't believe it... *shakes head dissaprovingly*

it does look bad but there are still 18% of the precincts left to report, and if Obama can win here in NC (even if it was just by 12k votes) AND we elect our first female Gov. then anything can happen. I have faith in you Cali don't let me down

If Prop 8 goes through I hope the various celebs who got married there like Ellen and George Takei speak out about it. I can only imagine what it must feel

it does look bad... but the No vote is slowly catching up... just don't think there is enough precincts left to catch up unless all the remaining precincts are heavy No votes....

well... you can be sure that there will be court fights over what to do with all the marriage that happened already...

Indeed!
Ugh... It shouldn't even matter whether you support gay marriage or not: it's just plain WRONG to take away someone's rights!

I feel like screaming, people, you just took away Ellen DeGeneres marriage. Are you happy now? It just feels so sad after there was so much beautiful coverage of it. The resulting court battles are definitely going to be interesting.

YES YOU CAN YES HE DID!!!!!A night that changed history - now let it change America I wonder if sheepie was able to stay awake long enough to hear the results? Hee - I got till 4am when California, Oregon & Washington were declared pushing Obama way over the 270 and then I crawled into bed, a little tired, a little drunk and a lot happy

Ha Sheepie- I made it to the same time as you and then, like McCain, had to admit defeat! I'm actually strangely emotional and a bit teary about it all- let's hope good things are ahead now.
Sadly though, looking on here at the Prop 8 news, the happiness has been tinged with sadness- what a bizarre and sad example of how progressive and reactionary people and politics can be all in one night.
