I liked the episode. Hoyt and Jessica complement each other well. Dr. Ludwig was rather awesome and highly amusing. I see the Eric-Sookie-Bill dynamic is starting up. The Rev's wife... name is escaping... whipped up her best pudding for Jason. Hmmmm. I give that 2 more eps before they're tearing up the sheets. Poor Lafayette. Sam and Dean! ;D Most of it felt like a set up for the new episode in 2 weeks. I wasn't surprised about Daphne but I am wondering why Tara is so slow on the uptick that something isn't quite right at Maryann's place. Preview for the next new episode on July 12th:

I enjoyed 204. Lots of good stuff though I need the FotS storyline to either gain speed or wrap up. Poor Sam. And poor Tara eventually from what the show is indicating. Anyone else thinking Rosemary's Baby? This had some wonderful goodies in the comments section: jezebel.com/5313400/true-blood-food-sex--room-service

I can't believe it that they ended up on such a cliffhanger, bastards ;D

I liked 208 a lot. Lots of good vampire action and I am liking Godric in this incarnation. I hope the Maryann-Sam storyline climaxes soon cause I've long since been bored by it. Promo for ep 209

Godric/blonde guy are such a slashable pair.
With that said, how typical that LaFayette is yet another quirky side-character, while the show is oozing with straight sexuality. These shows tend to frustrate me in how blatantly heterosexist they are.
I do like Maryann's cuisine ;3. Not to mention, I'm waiting like crazy for the vampire queen to show up for the first time, to shake things up.

RE: 209... which I am x-posting from my facebook cause I am sick and feeling lazy : Very good episode. And yes... that dream was a treat for the eyes. Dare I state that Eric/Sookie > Bill/Sookie? If I didn't already adore Lafayette, I would have after this episode. I love him protecting Tara and throwing down with Eggs. Also,... Eric was all kinds of awesome too. AS brought me to tears in the final few minutes. My two favorite characters were both on fire (no pun!) in last night's episodes. Sam! Well, he is a survivor if nothing else. I have to say, the article did raise a good question... why is Sookie so dumb? I mean she's not as dumb as Jason but from the one book I read from the series, she played dumb but wasn't. In the series, she comes off as DUMB, which is frustrating since she's the lead character. Which leads me to another question... how is Sookie going to react to Tara having moved both Eggs and Maryann to her Gran's house without ever asking or telling her? ETA: The Godric storyline... I would have liked for him to stay around a little longer. His storyline was too short and the Maryann one has gone on too long. Here's a write-up of the most recent episode (comments on that site are always fun): jezebel.com/5339075/true-blood-sookies-dreamy-nightmarePreview for 210: Now I have some DeRo to watch.

The Godric and Eric scenes had me teary-eyed. I just started watching the show, and am really enjoying. I'm going to have to watch the first season soon.
I prefer Sookie and Eric:)

I felt like Godric after watching this, having seen all kinds of programmes there are still things that surprise me ;D Very nice episode and I prefer Eric and Sookie, too. Unless Eric would prefer Lafayette. BTW Maryann storyline bores me now, the only scene I liked was with Lafayette and Tara's mother.

That scene of Maryann taunting Mrs. Thornton with the liquor? Damn! That was harsh. Lafayette was just so beyond awesome in this episode. Loved how he tossed Eggs over his shoulder like the boy weighed 15 lbs. He is FIERCE! ;D This show needs more Lafayette... and to end Maryann's storyline although it at least finally moved forward. I'm still over it, though. I had to watch the dream sequence twice cause the first time I was too busy being shallow about AS to hear the dialogue. TPTB needs to show more of that! ETA... here's another recap of ep 209: io9.com/5339437/quantum-death-leaps-wont-staunch-your-bloody-vampire-tears

re: 210 Why so short, TB? I thought the episode cut out early but nope, it was just a time cheat. Good episode and LOVED the teaming up of Jason-Andy-Sam. Tara's er, intervention, was interesting. So what is Sookie? Not enough Eric or Lafayette! Here's a commentary for the ep: watching-tv.ew.com/2009/08/23/true-blood-review-sookie-shocks-maryann/Promo for 211:

Even though the show pisses me off for how degayed it is (Godric was gay and made Eric clearly a sexual partner when he turned him, not this "father, brother, child" crap), I cannot wait to see Queen Sophie-Ann; she's so pretty. Redheads ftw.
And Michelle Forbes as Maryann is pure genius.

Degayed or not, the best show on TV atm, for me anyway. I thought too it was cut out, but it looked complete. I guess they wanted Bill's visit to be a cliffhanger and they did not have enough stuff to put into this episode.

I wouldn't call it the best show. It would be best if the gay director had decided to treat gay characters more decently, like in the book.
So far, Nurse Jackie is my absolute favorite. Momo is such a fucking hottie.
