Ah, that was a good short film. Thank for posting it, Hari. With the subtitles, I thought it was a French film, but then I heard their accents.

I found it on this French site, that's why it's subtitled in French. Thanks Amber

Good little film, even though I saw the twist coming Ha - That "Rainbow" shop reminds me of the first time I ever went into a "gay" shop - funnily enough it had Tom of Finland merchandise too ;D

Thanks for posting. But I didn't quite catch it. I know the boy's mom is a lesbian, but is he gay too?

As far as I understand, the movie is not telling. So it's left to our own speculations

As far as I understand, the movie is not telling. So it's left to our own speculations But I can't really catch the last part, where the boy is asking his mom for money for a movie. Did he mention about asking his mom to help him out on a date with his friend?

As far as I understand, the movie is not telling. So it's left to our own speculations But I can't really catch the last part, where the boy is asking his mom for money for a movie. Did he mention about asking his mom to help him out on a date with his friend? My take on that, was that he was hinting that if she gave him some money to go to the cinema with his pal, she would have the house to herself for the night - nudge nudge wink wink. For me the twist of the story is that throughout it leads you to think that the boy is gay and wondering how to tell his Mum - though in reality we're given nothing concrete about that fact - when the twist is revealed - you realise that all the so called signs actually have a double meaning. He's good at cleaning cooking etc (because supposedly as a lesbian, housework is not her forte) He's in the gay shop to purchase his "proud to have a lesbian Mum" T-shirt. His father's concern about him cleaning the house (is living with a gay mother turning his son gay as well) etc, etc, etc Anyway, that's my take on the story.
