If you look at the ufa production company site (which produces VL and AWZ) through the wayback machine, they list who was in charge at the time the snapshot of the site was taken.
BEFORE Olli came back:

Current: Autoren Sarah Höflich, Manuel Meimberg
This site lists Meimberg as "Chefautor". Gabi interviewed Meimberg in early April 2008, so he was already in charge back then.
Usually when a new author comes, it can be noticed by a lot of new characters joining the show (for example like Sebastian, Lydia, Fabian, their parents, Rebecca on VL or Juli and Celine on AWZ).
