Meet the characters in the Indian remake, Class.
Still no premiere date (but I'm assuming soon) so we can have fun guessing who's who. My guesses: Faruq = Omar Sharan = Ander Balli = Christian
Veer Dhruv = Polo.
ETA: I amended my guess for Polo after they revealed some characters' last names. Pretty much confirmed Faruq is Omar as he shares a (Muslim) surname Manzoor with Saba (= Nadia). Veer is very likely to be Guzman as his surname Ahuja is the same as the murdered girl, Suhani (= Marina). Neeraj and Dheeraj Prasad must be the brothers Nano and Samu. So that leaves Sharan, Dhruv and Balli as the odd ones out among the men. I'm confident Balli is Christian, so it's a toss-up between Sharan and Dhruv as to who's Ander and who's Polo. Either way, I think chances are good that both will be involved in gay storylines.

Class has a premiere date set - Feb 3rd - along with a full trailer that's sadly devoid of gay content (we know it's there, based on the teaser).

I am suprised it gives not thread for the show. About the tittle I allways think about the Dr. Who Spin Off Class, it was a shame that it do not give a second season especially after the annouce at the end, that the villian are the weeping Angels.
Here is the trailer Yeah it is really a copy from the story of Elite. So it feels a bit like nostalgic, because we know how the story goes on. But it is, because of the environment India als really difference and become his own charme, I think. They also make a funny easter egg joke, about the house, that his dad was in Spain and liked that house so much, so they built a coby of the house here.
First I think it is mostly produced for the Indian Market, because the Dubs looks really cheap, a bit unproffesional, also only avaible in Indian langauges and English and Spanish, but yes it gives a lot of Subs for nearly every big language. The difference between poor and rich, are a lot bigger, because yes the difference between poor and rich are in Indian a lot bigger than in europe, especially the poorer are a lot poorer. Especially with the indian caste system, I learned like I think nearly every Europen in school a bit about the caste system, in Geography, but in the End, long time ago and memorys are mostly gone. First I was also a bit thinking, is Islam a topic in India? So I make a backround check and was suprised. How much Islam people live in India 14 % are Islam, to compare in Germany are 7 % Islam, GB around 5 %, USA only 1 % Islam. But about the homosexuality, is Indian a lot more conservative and I dont think it is a huge difference between Islam or not, not like in other western countrys. I think there is more what matters how rich and in what caste you are, that you can be allowed to be gay open. So maybe we will see, if they really go the route with the Islam as problem or more because like in reality you are poor and dont diverse to be gay, you had not enough money to buy your soul free, but Omar looks in general in this Show more outed, than in the Original Show.
I watched currently 2 Episodes, the Gays are kissing, making out and we see a after Sex scene. But maybe I only think it, prejudices, it is less than the straight ones. So I will not judge till the End.
I get only per accident, because of Twitter, the news, that it is airing, there I think is no advertising at all, at least for europe, about the show. So what says us this, I do not really think it gives a second Season, sorry to say this, Netflix do not believe really in this project, at least not in a worldwide view, sucess. And yes the bad dub, I think gets also a lot of people skip this show, not many wanted to read allways subs, because they dont unterstand what the people say.

I heard this is a really good remake, but I haven't gotten round to watching it. It's very promising that they've kept the gay/bi storylines intact.
I've seen quite a bit of promo for the show, and I see it is #1 in India, but it does worry me that it was in production for 3 years before its release this month. Obviously some of that time was lost due to the pandemic but there have been many, many other productions (not just Netflix) which made it through without delays anywhere close to that length.

I have only watched a couple of episodes, but I like it so far. The gay characters have chemistry. It's weird watching an almost exact replica of Elite just in another language, country and culture though. Like... everything is pretty much the same. That means some of the plot works, some of it doesn't. I think the "poor people" angle is more effective as there is a bigger difference between poor and rich in India, which is also the case for Dehli. What doesn't work is the line "we don't want muslims in our country". It's taken directly from the original. It works in Spain but not in India because India has a fairly big muslim population (it's the second biggest religion), so it doesn't make much sense to say that as there are already many muslims in India, with a long history, and most people should not bat an eye at seeing muslims, especially in such a big city as Dehli.

Actually, anti-Muslim sentiment in India is a lot more common than that and there are frequent flare-ups with the other religions. Hinduism is the majority religion but Sikhism, Buddhism and Jainism are all native religions, where Islam is associated with invaders from central Asia and the Islamic republic of Pakistan. It has been a sore point for centuries and Delhi, specifically, is a very recent flashpoint. This show has been in development for three years so it's quite likely to have been scripted around the time of the 2020 Delhi riots. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020_Delhi_riots

I am currently on Episode 4, I really liked it so far.
And yes they go the route, what I was thinking is reaslistic, for India, it matters how poor, which caste you are, if you wanted to be gay. And was a bit shocked about the police scene, how they act about poor gays, but it is the same way, like in Made in Heaven(Prime), mostly like also my prejustice view about India in general about Gays. So here I must say in honor how brave the production is, to show a mirror to the society in India. Only when you look at it, something can change in the bigger way.
