I think the season will end with When Claudia "kills" Lestat and she and Louis leave for Europe. Then we'll get Lestat's narration of TVL in season 2. They are probally going to do TVL and later part of first book at the same time to keep both Louis and Lestat on screen

This show is simply stunning. I'm always in awe of the beautiful cinematography, elaborate sets, and ornate costumes. I've watched the original film and I have to say that this adaptation blows it out of the water. Making Louis a Black gay man navigating through period typical racism and homophobia was a clever choice because it gives him a compelling reason for why he would choose to become a vampire. It's an example of an adaptation that fundamentally changes the source material to adapt to the modern age and it does so surprisingly well. I wasn't keen on the brutal domestic violence and implied sexual assault in episode 5, but I trust the writers to continue to deliver such high quality storytelling.

This show is awesome. Episode 6 was great. Lestat is just so much fun and fucked up to watch.

I can't remeber one time Louis saying the L word to Lestat and now he just calls Armand the love of his life. I hope that is a sign that Louis is under the influence of Armand.

I liked the plot twist at the end. I'm not talking about A, the other plot twist. The garbage dump thing. I admit it, the show knows how to surprise. I always suspected the A thing, as I've read some speculation on another website.

I thought the final episode was great with Louie being the one to cut Lestat throat you could really see the struggle in Louie I believe in the book it was Claudie who cut his throat and Louie had no Ideal of her plan until she carried it out

Will this new spin-off have gay characters?

Will this new spin-off have gay characters? Apparently this island is owned by Armand, so I'm guessing yes, although the plotline above doesn't suggest a lot of time for romance. I was thinking it's incredible that they're only just hiring a writer and expecting to get it out before the end of the year, but then I read that it's actually six "short form" episodes, of 10-15 minutes' duration each - so only about two normal-length episodes. I guess it's doable if they cast in the next month or so and film over the summer, give another 3 months post-production and you could see it debut in time for Christmas.

It seems Sam Reid is playing a queer co-lead simultaneously in Aussie drama The Newsreader, which is already about to begin its second season (the first premiered 2 years ago). Not sure how that was missed in all the press for IWAV.

The showrunner made a bad choice in adapting only the second part of book 1 for season 2. Lestat is barely in it and he's heart of the series.

I thought the short-form spin-off The Night Island would be coming sometime this year to tide us over until the new season in 2024, but it seems like there is no news? Did they not manage to film it before the strikes, or has it been scrapped entirely?
