Due to debut on Oct. 12, this Chucky series has a key difference: The protagonist (?) Jake, played by 13yo Zackary Arthur, will be gay and nursing a crush on one of his male classmates, Devon (played by Björgvin Arnarson). I'm glad to see the horror genre include a gay male lead but I'm a bit iffy about him knowing - and potentially encouraging - Chucky's homicidal tendencies.

Gay lead or not, I've always been a Chucky's fan and can't wait for that.

And there's also a new trailer which does a better job laying the groundwork for the plot. The more I see of it, the more excited I get. And Syfy joining the list of networks with a gay male-led series is definitely a win. (Technically, they also had The Magicians but Q's sexuality was never confirmed until that character was about to be written out.)

Anyone know where I can watch this in Europe? In the UK it will be shown on Sky TV (probably Sky Max) but they haven't announced a start date yet. I haven't read of any other European country picking it up so far.

I'm only able to find the gay romance-related scenes which are nicely-written and -acted. It's a bit of a shame that this sweet adolescent romance takes place within a horror show with swearing etc., because it would really be beneficial representation for young teens who probably won't get to watch this show. It's something I would certainly have appreciated at that age, and we've not really had that since The Fosters ended.

Jake and Devon kissed in the latest episode. It was all kinds of adorable.

I heard about the kiss so I binged the 5 episodes that was out. Liked it a lot. Much better than I expected. The characters aren't quite one dimensional like most horror shows.

That's good, but they are running out of people to kill. Considering the age of the kids, they will all be orphans in foster care by early next season

Trailer for season 2. Devon Sawa returns playing an apparently unrelated character, the headmaster of the boys' Catholic boarding school.

Considering the age of the kids, they will all be orphans in foster care by early next season Like I said, they have basically killed almost all the adults on the show. I guess it make sense they move setting to a boys' school to have more victims. I get how Jake got enough money to afford the school (since I assume he inherited from all the deaths last season), but how do Devon afford it? I thought his mom was just a cop

Season 2 trailer. As people speculated, the kids are going to be put in a facility for juveniles. Oh, and Devon Sawa is back in some capacity. http://instagram.com/p/CiflgK5JbmL

Didn't even realized that S2 started already. Caught up today and here are a few thoughts:
- Nice that they didn't drop the gay storyline for S2. It was front and center - Considering his uncle, aunt, and cousin all died, shouldn't Jake have inherited all their money? Since they were living in a mansion, that should be a good amount of money - It was such an weak excuse to change the setting to the church, but it is an easy way to infuse a bunch of adults around the gang - It is way too easy to brainwash people on the show.

Happy news, I wasn't expecting it because I heard ratings were not doing so well this season - plus the usual bigots were out in full force about the gay central couple as well as Glen/Glenda - but we have a season 3! https://www.instagram.com/p/CncYc0XhlBB

Surprisingly, the show's third season production seems to not have been delayed by the strikes and will debut this October 4th.

I guess it isn't surprising that they finished filming the season, but I thought the strike would mean they couldn't film any of these promotions either

It seems they only finished filming the first half of the season, which is what will premiere on Oct. 4th. The show will then go on hiatus until 2024 until they're able to finish producing the back half of the season. Here's the full trailer for the first half - you do get a blink and miss clinch between the boyfriends:

Watched the first half of the current season. Can safely say they didn't shy away from their gay relationship. I guess they are trying to take advantage of the fact that the actor for Jake is buff now. Devon looks tiny next to Jake.
They made it way too easy to access the White House and the First Family. Not to mention ppl seem to keep leaving murder weapons lying around

Chucky sure came back strong, considering he is dying. I do feel like this is going to be the final season, as it'll be hard for Chucky to top that kill at the end of the latest episode. Oh, and they finally portrayed Jake and Devon like real teens in love. Hollyoaks, Heartstopper, Heartbreak High, etc. - please take notes.
