I'm so confused. It feels more like mafia academy than Porsche is Kinn's bodyguard, except when he screwed it all up being drunk. Also, I'm thinking the person who hired the woman to attack Kinn is one of his brother's who is resentful that he is taking over. I also think that given Porsche is such a dud as a bodyguard that there is some reason beyond that initial fight that made them want to hire him. It just feels like they're hinting at Porsche being more important. Why would they give Porsche such an important job of guarding the heir to the business if he is clearly not trained for it. Something else is going on. Either that or I'm over thinking everything! I read a summary of the original story that inspired this show. I'm not sure how closely they'll follow the source material but without delving into spoiler territory, let's just say you're on the right track. Tonight's episode had a couple of key events but the rest felt a bit like filler. I think they have pacing issues, or maybe it's just how they're cutting it for the censored episodes. I don't think there were any subplots not affecting the leads tonight. Next week's previews promise it'll be one of the dramatic moments of the series. I agree, there are pacing issues. I don't think it has anything to do with the censoring. There were like maybe three scenes that felt like they mattered to the larger plot. Porsche working to improve his bodyguard skills, that scene with the mystery man, and when Kinn and Porsche were chatting on the docks. Also, I hate drunken first kisses. One being sober undermines the relationship. Particularly in the case when the sober one is already in a position of power over the other.

One being sober undermines the relationship. Particularly in the case when the sober one is already in a position of power over the other. Maybe the word censoring is a bit misleading, the vast majority of the content they cut for these "censored" versions isn't in fact sexually explicit but simply what they consider unimportant to the overarching plot. Like I mentioned, I only read a recap of the original story. I went back and tried to read some of the actual writing and now suspect the pacing issues are carried over from the source. It is quite slow moving. Maybe they are being faithful to the source, although you'd think that's one element they would tweak for the screen adaptation. What works in writing (barely) doesn't necessarily work for the screen. While I agree with the preference for a sober first kiss, I think you also have to consider that Porsche identifies as straight. There was really no indication that he was interested in Kinn that way. At least with Kinn they did show some desire on his part before this. And this is where I think there's something missing in what they choose to show us, at a minimum curiosity from Porsche about Kinn/gay relationships. Without that, it does make the kiss a little icky, especially - as you noted - when you throw in the power dynamic, but it also felt like it couldn't happen any other way. (It doesn't help that Apo's drunk face is extremely boyish - I will commend him on achieving such a transformation from his usual face, but it all makes it feel like Kinn is taking advantage of someone vulnerable.) And fair warning for the next episode: Porsche is kidnapped, stripped and drugged up to the gills with some libido enhancing drug. He is massively horny by the time Kinn rescues him (some bodyguard Porsche is turning out to be, it feels like the employer he's supposed to be protecting is the one rescuing him half the time!) and they have *no choice* (uh, sure) but to screw the horniness away. So yeah, it's gonna get ickier. The recap I read implies that Porsche is the bottom. Bodyguard Arm proves that he isn't a nerd at all! I know right, I was wide-eyed when the shirt came off and cursing Porsche when he stopped him from dropping the trousers too, LOL! The uncensored version is only 47 mins long this time (and the first few mins are credits and recap), any idea how long the version that aired on TV was?

The uncensored version is only 47 mins long this time (and the first few mins are credits and recap), any idea how long the version that aired on TV was? Because they didn't release the TV version online there's no definitive detail on the iQIYI site about the actual length of the broadcast version, but the TV slot they have is an hour long with the advertising time for an hour slot in Thailand being 15 mins so I would guess the TV episode would last around the standard 45 minutes, the same as the previous ones. The fact they put in a lot of recap is also an indication that there probably wasn't much difference between the two as it's common for 'previously on' (and 'next week on') scenes to get used to bolster shows up or down to their correct duration on TV. My guess is that we got an extra two minutes on the La Forte version, with the length of the kiss scene probably being a major part of that time. I'm pretty sure that would have been shaved down a bit for the TV broadcast.

iQIYI appear to have rejigged their site for KinnPorsche and have separated the episodes into a TV version page and a La Forte page. The TV version of the third episode has now been uploaded, as have the first two episodes which were removed last week. I've added the TV version link for episode 3 into the same post that contains the La Forte link. I'm not sure if this means the TV link will be delayed by a week as a matter of course from now on. Today's episode 4 has already been uploaded to the La Forte page but, so far, not to the TV page. My guess is that we got an extra two minutes on the La Forte version, with the length of the kiss scene probably being a major part of that time. I'm pretty sure that would have been shaved down a bit for the TV broadcast. Now that we have the TV version details I can answer justinate more accurately. The TV version of episode 3 lasts 44mins and 29 seconds. The La Forte version lasts 47 mins and 29 seconds, so we got 3 extra minutes with the uncensored version. I didn't check the episode in depth to see what differences there were but noticed two things; the 'previously on' montage at the start was considerably shorter on the TV version and the kiss scene at the end had been shaved down. It didn't contain any close up detail or show Porsche responding to Kinn's kiss by going in for seconds. Also the TV version blurred out all the beer drinking.

The show seems to have hit its groove now. The latest episode gelled well together, there did not appear to be any filler, we got movement on another romance (Wik/Porchay) some new interactions (Pete/Kinn, Porsche and his friends) ... maybe I have low expectations/am easily impressed but I found the final fight scene in the truck was well-choreographed. I also got a chuckle out of the blatant product placement for the shower device - naked wet Apo is definitely the way to advertise your goods. There were some weak moments - notably the last conversation between the leads, which unfortunately was let down by a poor script and questionable acting. And I certainly wouldn't have minded some new perspectives of the first time sex instead of just flashbacks to what we already saw last week.

Man, episode 6 was very beautifully shot. I love getting to see Kinn smile throughout the episode since he's been very serious or yelling a good portion of the time with maybe the occasional smirk. I'm also glad that they touch on some of the issues that came up from how their relationship started forming and that Kinn at least acknowledged what he did was wrong. Some really great character development came from this episode and it's probably my fav so far since episode 1.

That episode actually made me want to root for KinnPorsche as a couple, even though Porsche deserves so much better, so good job on that. I did spend part of the episode screaming at Porsche for forgiving Kinn, but at least they talked about it.
Also, is this the first time Porsche mentioned what happened to his parents? I think the car accident that killed them will be important. It's related to Kinn's family in some way, and it's probably connected to why they hired Porsche in the first place.
