And here's the new cast portraits of Vegas and Pete: Are they going to drip feed us the whole cast over the coming days to build up the interest again? It's looking likely seeing as we've just got seven weeks to go before the series starts.

I'm very intrigued by this. For one, it's not a genre where we typically see gay leads, and for another, it looks extremely sexy. I think I even saw one of the guys naked for a split-second.

Another new couple poster: Kinn's long-time friend, Tay and his other half, Time (who was originally going to be played by Green Phongsathorn but is now played by JJ Chalach Tantijibul). As well as the 'Bodyguard' poster, featuring Arm, Pol, Big and Ken.

The Vegas/Pete poster doesn't have a pair of handcuffs in sight! And cute puppy couple Kim/Porchay have been given an easier spelling so that we don't have to constantly remember which keys to press to add the diacritic onto Porsché.

This newly released trailer has been announced as the uncut version. I haven't watched it through but I did notice there was one close-up of Kinn and Porsche in the swimming pool on the side of the building that we get the long distance shot of in the original trailer. It's a real blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment, but there may be other snippets too.

The TV version is 45 minutes long and free. The uncensored version is 60 minutes long but requires a VIP subscription to watch. That's a big difference - 15 minutes, about 33% longer - for the uncensored version. Any idea what's censored? I can't imagine it is all sex/nudity. (There was notably none in the TV version.)

There was one blink and you miss it sex scene between Porsche and a random from the bar that was so dark you could barely see anything. It seemed irrelevant to anything. They probably cut down the fight scenes too, but I couldn't say for sure without actually watching both. Considering some of the promotional material I do wonder how much if any of the sex/nudity will be in the tv version compared to the VIP one.

They probably cut down the fight scenes too, but I couldn't say for sure without actually watching both. Considering some of the promotional material I do wonder how much if any of the sex/nudity will be in the tv version compared to the VIP one. I guess a random sex scene can be easily sliced out, as with some of the fight scenes, but would those really account for 15 minutes of airtime? (Especially when you say the one sex scene in the pilot was blink-and-miss. My guess is it was thrown in to justify the paid upgrade to the "uncensored" version.) We'll have to see in later episodes. If most of the central couple's love scenes get the cut too, it will be very glaring. But even then I cannot imagine it would account for a full 15 minutes of airtime. Could there be some subplots which are getting the cut? Watching the free TV version, I did not notice any other subplot or scenes that didn't include either Kinn and/or Porsche. Overall, I thought it was an interesting premise and one that's never been done, at least not to this scale, with gay principal protagonists. Sure, there were some eyeroll-worthy moments but equally, some scenes/sets/choreography that quite impressed me. It certainly doesn't feel like a cut-rate production. With the Filipinos doing Rainbow Prince, it's very promising that Southeast Asian countries are exploring big-budget productions with more varied themes that star gay protagonists. I hope both shows are successes because I would hate for their TV industries to regress if they think such experiments are not going to be popular and lucrative. Also, can I just say, the actor playing Porsche and one of the background bodyguards (I think Ken?) are very handsome. Shame the latter is not in one of the gay couples, LOL. Okay, and what's with three characters named Kinn, Kim and Ken?

Still enjoying the novelty of this series, and man is Apo (Porsche) ever so gorgeous. The sexual tension between him and Kinn is rising nicely. But I do have a couple of beefs with the series. I'll preface my remarks by noting that I've not seen the source material, so I don't know if these are adapted directly. But why on earth is Porsche such an unmitigated screw-up? I can understand him not having the physical training, firearms training etc. I can understand him being resentful and cocky (in fact, that's one of the things I like about the series, he and Kinn seem equally matched in the cockiness department!) But why have him piss into the carp pond, get drunk on his first mission, AND beat up the minor family's son, all in the span of a single episode? At the very least, they could've spread it out over two episodes. Or had Porsche give a better excuse than saying he thought Macau was the maid's son. Wasn't that brat actually skipping stones over the pond? Have him say, I know the oldest son loves his carp and this brat was potentially harming them - it would also have built up to Thankhun taking him on as his personal bodyguard. (Did enjoy that 'twist' at the end of the ep.)
Also, are ALL three of the mafia don's sons gay? I mean, that's an incredible coincidence. Kinn's older bro is the most flamboyant of them all, I have to say I never pictured the proclaimed "psycho" being remotely like that so that took me by surprise. And if I understand correctly, Porchay will also be gay (is his partner Kim meant to be the same as Kinn's younger brother?), so another set of queer brothers. It does merit a raised eyebrow though.
Which brings me to my other problem with this series: none of these other characters/couples are given any meaningful character development. Obviously, the series is titled KinnPorsche but if they want us to care about these supporting characters, there has to be more to them - their own story, not just progressing the arcs of the two leads. The only gay couple seen in this episode are Time and Tay, in the background. We do get a brief intro to Vegas and a hint of his attraction to Porsche's roommate Pete.
Oh, and Pete provides the first nudity of the series (partial butt) early in this episode.

I'm so confused. It feels more like mafia academy than Porsche is Kinn's bodyguard, except when he screwed it all up being drunk.
Also, I'm thinking the person who hired the woman to attack Kinn is one of his brother's who is resentful that he is taking over. I also think that given Porsche is such a dud as a bodyguard that there is some reason beyond that initial fight that made them want to hire him. It just feels like they're hinting at Porsche being more important. Why would they give Porsche such an important job of guarding the heir to the business if he is clearly not trained for it. Something else is going on. Either that or I'm over thinking everything!

Something else is going on. Either that or I'm over thinking everything! I read a summary of the original story that inspired this show. I'm not sure how closely they'll follow the source material but without delving into spoiler territory, let's just say you're on the right track. Tonight's episode had a couple of key events but the rest felt a bit like filler. I think they have pacing issues, or maybe it's just how they're cutting it for the censored episodes. I don't think there were any subplots not affecting the leads tonight. Next week's previews promise it'll be one of the dramatic moments of the series.
