I think the show's fantastic and some of the contestants are gorgeous in and out of drag. It's a combination of Project Runway and America's Next Top Model. RuPaul's a fabulous judge and a really supportive guide to her "dolls" when she's in Mr. Charles mode.
I love this show. I think that drag performers create wonderful works of art, starting with their amazing makeup transformations.
Tammie scared me initially (those eyebrows!!), but once I caught onto the 30's/40's homage, then I GOT her.
I think I'm torn between Nina (who's on fire) and Shannel. OMG, when she came through the door, I was absolutely blown away by her look and then the photo shoot. Amazing.

I caught some of the premiere episode with the final competiton between the two acts, though I got distracted by something and only caught the DESTINY'S CHILD group. They were really good and I loved the makeup. I will have to see about catching the second episode this week.

That's the second episode, B-chick. The first episode has the photo shoot and the "design on a dime" in which they have to deal with crap from a dollar store and some thrift store for the new outfit that represents their drag persona.

Oops! Thanks for the clarification on the episodes. I need to pay more attention.

I'm so much in LOVE with RuPaul's Drag Race that I've signed up on the Logo website. Has anyone seen this week's episode?
It was LOCO-terrific!!

Just saw the most recent episode.
The teleprompter task was awesome to watch. Loved whathisname saying "This is your name" at the end instead of inserting his name at the end. ;D

That was the awesome Nina Flowers. Have you seen the "Under The Hood" clips on the DragRace website?!
Hysterical. My drag name is Daisy Doosh.

Here's the link to all the full episodes: www.logoonline.com/shows/dyn/rupauls_drag_race/videos.jhtmlI just watched the MAC VIVA GLAM Challenge episode. Good episode. I was surprised that Shannel wasn't in the bottom two. I think she's great with makeup and has style but I agree about the ego, the inability to listen and the tendency to look costume-y. Loved Bebe's "Josephine Baker" look. That was awesome. So was Nina Flowers. I think they're going to be two of the final three, along with Ongina. Personally, I like Ongina's personality but I think Bebe and Nina are stronger. Stunned that Jade went home instead of Rebecca. Jade had issues - I agree about the lack of presence and the tuck - but I thought Rebecca was weaker overall. Rebecca definitely needs to go next week, then Shannel.

I guess my call on the final 3 was off. I didn't expect Ongina to go. Wow. Admittedly it wasn't her best week, especially during the lip-sync, but damn. And I have to say that Sweet Pea, on first glance, I didn't realize she was a she.

I voiced my issues with this week's episode on Tom and Lorenzo's blog about the show. When I get home from work tonight, I'll post those thoughts on the thread.
I just have to say, if Nina Flowers' eliminated BEFORE the medicore Rebecca Glasscock, then I'm done watching the show.
I'm serious. Seeing Ms. Ongina being eliminated hurt, but I really would cry if Ms. Nina's gone before Ms. Rebecca.

Rebecca really is one-not. Not horrific overall but definitely the weaker than Ongina and the weakest of all the contestants. I still can't get over all the magic Shannel worked on Sweat Pea. Can't wait to read your thoughts on it D-Diva. I have to say I did laugh when the ladies had to workout. That was comedy gold.

Comments from the Tom and Lorenzo Blog.
I'm really dissapointed that Rebecca won this challenge, because she is a "beautiful girl" looking drag queen, with NO personality whatsoever.
It seems like Ms. Ru's interested in seeing how Miss Glasscock could develop her stage persona, but it's also at the cost of elminating other stronger performers that already have the personality that is needed to be a strong and fierce drag queen.
Yes, Nina and Ongina are doing the "genderf**k" style of drag, but I think that America and the rest of the world is ready for that (I know that I am.) and not another version of Ms. Ru. Especially a substandard version of that type of persona.

Rebecca really comes across as having no personality. I still think between she and Jade, Jade was the stronger competitor. I can't believe they tossed her out and kept Rebecca. Both had a similar approach to drag but it's a different level - lower level, if you will, than Shannel, Nina, Bebe and Ongina.
Remember the breakdown last week with Rebecca? No nerve and I thought that was one of the criteria in order to win. She also lacks Charisma, Uniqueness and Talent. All the others remaining have it but she doesn't.
It seems like she was kept on solely for the potential drama.

B-chick - I said almost the same thing about Rebecca on the TWoP thread for the show, after last week's elmination of Jade.

Not Shannel! Not when Rebecca is still around.
Nina or Bebe better win!

Rebecca in the top 3?! A poster on TWoP called her this show's version of Wendy Pepper from Bravo's first season of Project Runway.
I do give her props for having the nerve in putting herself out there, in front of the American tv viewing public, but I really don't want to see "potential" in a contestant. I want to see someone that can be a rightful contender to be the "next superstar drag queen".
It's too bad that Ms. Shannel just go tired of not winning, but I'm glad that Ms. Bebe and Ms. Nina (Team Nina FTW!!!) are made it to the top 3.
I really hope that Rebecca takes in everything that she's witnessed on the show (especially on how she's made it to the top 3) and learns something about what she needs to do, in order to become a better drag queen performer. The thing about the age of Ms. Nina, IMO was a slap in the face to every fabulous drag queen that's been doing what they've done best, since before Ms. Rebecca was even conceived by her parents.
I think Ms. Ru does want to inspire the next generation of "children" that might find themselves wanting to put on a pair of hose, 3" heels and tons of Mac lipglass, but it has to be a project in which they can grow and develop at a pace that works for newbies.
Like Drag 101 or something.

I am glad BeBe won but I have to say I realized that I might have been subconsciously pulling for Nina, especially after the video cause I did feel badly watching her be so gracious. It pulled at the heart strings. I hope that Nina also gets something out of this that will help her career too.
