As a programming note - GMMTV posted on their instagram that Tonhon Chonlatee episode 8 is postponed until next Friday - January 8th due to the New Year's Holiday.
While using jealousy seems like a good idea to get Tonhon to open up to his feelings for Chonlatee, I am not sure that it is going to end well. Tonhon seems to react with his fists way too quickly. Na is going to get hurt - either physically (due to a bashing from Tonhon) or emotionally from Chonlatee dropping him as soon as Tonhon starts to reciprocate Chon's feelings) or probably both). Now Na isn't perfect - his defense mechanism of using his family's wealth to try to buy influence/friendship/love isn't great, but he really tries hard and seems sincerely interested in Chon.
I did have a good laugh at Tonhon's utter confusion that Chonlatee would come back to live at their house but sleep in Miriam's room.

I don't like the ideal of using Na to try and make Tonhon admit he has feelings for Chon that being said he does know why there using him and seems to think he can change Chon's feeling for himself

I feel so bad for Na. He is so precious and pure. I really hope he gets some kind of happy ending since he won't be paired with Chon in the end.
I want to support Chon and Tonhon, but I am struggling to see why they even like each other much less any redeeming factors for them. Tonhon is overbearing and violent. Chon is whiny and is pretty willing to play games in order to get what he wants, though he could be kind at times. It just make it hard to cheer on them getting together

I am not sure what to think about episode 8. The first 10 minutes were pretty good - and it actually looked like a really fun weekend of friends getting to explore coastal Thailand's culture. The kites were cute, the tiny bananas (or were they plantains?) and the monkeys were fun. Even the frozen treats (which looked more like sherbet to me than ice cream) looked like fun until Ton's jealousy reared its very ugly, angry head - and poor Na's jaw really looked like that punch was real for several scenes afterward.
Na talking Ton down from his rage and getting him to think through his feelings to get him to realize what everyone else had gotten 4 episodes ago was probably one of the best scenes in this episode - and Na's selfless desire to see Chon happy gave him some more positive credit in my thoughts. That said both Na and Ton showed in their second one-on-one conversation that they both view Chon as a commodity to be had and not a separate person with free will and agency. Ton reinforced that with his continual possessiveness - leading to correcting Chon, that Chon was his wifey when Chon was trying to figure out their standing. The part of me that wasn't admiring Pod and Khaotung's assets on display, was really hoping that Chon's mother would come in and stop the foolishness (She had to have sighed with relief when she thought that it was over after Chon's poorly thought out kissing of Ton - she is a supportive mother and I think she would have been very happy with Na (or any other non-Ton guy) as a son-in-law). It did please me that Chon did assert himself on the bridge - making it clear what he wants and does not want - too often his character has been a push-over, so it was nice to see that there is some steel there.
The intimacy - I just don't see Ton making such an abrupt leap. He had a lot of trouble with the first kiss and now we are supposed to believe that he was always ready for much much more - that he just needed Na to tell him to go for it??? .
Well at least Miriam, Ni and Ai realized what asses they all were to Na. I wouldn't have minded a one-on-one conversation between Chon and Na though - as Chon really should apologize to him. Na seems to have just gone back to being friends with Chon and Pang at school - I will say that at least he doesn't appear to be hanging back, but actually was with them during the calculus notes seen (and boy is it petty to be withholding calculus notes as a ploy to teach someone to respect their elders/get back at the guy who picked up your ex-boyfriend.
The photos - definitely in Chon's hindsight a bad idea to take them - but how the heck did they get out into the open? I don't think Chon would be stupid enough to post them anywhere and even if Pang was thirsting over them when she viewed them on Chon's phone - I don't see her being stupid enough to post them anywhere either. I will admit that I enjoyed the water splashing fight (though my feelings afterward are that Amp and Ton are probably made for each other - they both fly off in rages in a hot second).
Probably the one sign of real growth in Ton is his realization that sometimes when threatened he decides to go off by himself to think things through instead of punching first. The beach sign was probably the most positive thing he has done in awhile - and I am not sure the Ton from the first episode would have gone to the rescue of the couple.

I will add the other links as they become available, but here is the first part of episode 9 courtesy of GMMTV: Other links: www.youtube.com/watch?v=UbKf*g3n5Q8 (the part 4 clip has an unfortunate letter combo in the link - the asterisk should be an a - and the board is blocking the word and making the link not work - in the decade that I have been posting on this board - this about the third or fourth time that I have seen this happen)

You can also get yourself a copy of the anchor necklace:
I have to wonder if between series, GMMTV forces Pod to carve anchor necklaces.

I used bitly to shorten the link, so this works for the 4th clip of episode 9. It just doesn't work to embed the video. bit.ly/2LRlCQN

Well, Itt has a thing for his boss - that may have been the wackiest but funniest couple minutes of the episode.
I don't want to see any more sad Chon. I have no idea how they will wrap this all up in next week's episode.
Having Chon watch a clip from 2gether was kind of meta.

Well, that wasn't the worst BL (or even the worst Thai BL) I have watched, but it was certainly competing for that title in this last episode. They checked off 1. You are the only guy I have ever liked, 2. More wifey crap (with added bonus of Ton dragging and hugging Chon like he is a rag doll repeatedly), 3. driving Chon's mother into an incoherent rage (I was with her) with the homophobia (and I still cannot believe that she would be all in favor of a baby solution), 3. yet more weird exploitation of Mirian (a surrogacy, really???), 5. sidelining the 2 characters who have been consistent highlights - Na and Pang (who each had less than a minute in the final - and poor Pang had to waste her time with awful exposition of what happened to Amp), and finally, neither Ton or Chon had any objections at all to their parents' crazy plan for them to have a child??? (and as soon as I saw Ton making covetous looks at the baby in the waiting room, I knew we were in trouble) - so yeah for controlling parents. I got so mad - I almost forgot that Ton's sister outed Ai and Ni - making everything worse.
At least Na got a cute boyfriend who's only line plagiarized Sarawat from 2gether the series (though it is a pretty thirsty pick-up line and I don't really blame Na for digging it).
I also thought the scene on the pier at the end was really pretty (maybe the director thought we needed a palate cleanser after the pure dreck that was the rest of the episode)
This show had a lot of potential that it just didn't live up to - including quite a few actors who have elsewhere shown themselves to be pretty talented. Here's hoping that A Tale of a Thousand Stars will be a much better show for our upcoming Fridays now that this one is done.

I agree, the last episode felt like they writers thought they'd have more time to finish up the story, but then realized they only had one episode left so they had to get to a resolution with all the characters really fast. Also, let's be super creepy about Miriam's sex life or lack there of, "You can gestate my grandchild because you're a virgin". I'm going to imagine she got her own life in the 3 years we didn't see, and wasn't just a prop for the guys.

I think it is possible the production is setting it up so there could A mini series or even A second season

It was a horrible ending. The baby solution is horrible especially when you consider that Ton and Chon never discussed kids. Now they are having one just to please the dad? That is no reason to have a kid, especially at their age (Aren't Chon just 18?). And like all of you said, I really feel bad for Miriam, who just get used and used and used.
While it sucks that Na didn't get much screen time in the last episode, at least he got a boyfriend. And without all the craziness that comes from all the other couples.
I disagree that they are trying to set up a S2. The writers rapid-fire tied off all the storyline there isn't much left for a second season. I guess they could do one of Chon and Ton juggling a baby and school?
