I decided to make a thread for this earlier than planned (I had put a post in the 2gether thread: gaydaytime.proboards.com/post/376576) because I saw an extended Fan-made trailer. Here is GMMTV's trailer (repeated from the original post): and the extended trailer, courtesy of Yflix: I have seen a November air date for the series (mydramalist has Nov. 13: mydramalist.com/61973-ton-hon-chon-tee)

I'm really looking forward to this. I love "Fong" from 2gether. Was really hoping he would get a love interest in 2gether, but this is even better.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to this too. I first saw Thanawat in 'Cause your my Boy' and thought he was the cutest character in it. He was totally wasted though and didn't get that much screen time, so I'm pleased to see him finally get a main role. He and Podd look to have good chemistry from the clips I've seen. And an added bonus for me is that we've got Mike and Toptap back too.

That was fun - definitely adding to the must watch list. Both leads are doing a great job so far - and now I demand that GMMTV do a special episode (or even series) set in that period piece from Korea or Japan. It was over the top and delightful. Things I loved - Pod in just a towel multiple times - and Chonlatee looked liked he was ready to eat Tonhon (not that I blame him). Chonlatee's physical response to the second view of a towel-clad Tonhon was hilarious - I don't know how he could move with all those layers on. Plus Tonhon in the tiniest of Chonlatee's pajamas was amazing. Chonlatee's mother and friend were both quite supportive - and it was refreshing to have a character who was at least somewhat out, even if he wasn't ready to tell Tonhon yet. Tonhon explaining how manly his buddies were and how they chased after girls - only to find them in the shower together - though could they have panned the camera down just a little more I did like the "Lady and the Tramp"-style noodle eating leading almost to a kiss - but what a show they were giving to the other patrons of the food stall. I didn't care for the over-thirsty man hitting on Chonlatee, but I also didn't like the way Chonlatee decided to over-compensate in his response to prove his manliness (somewhat of a recurring theme - like the face mask scene and after Tonhon's comments about the plushies).

I am going to pretend that the last clip never happened. I think the show is trying to set things up to show Thonhon as very much insecure in his sexuality and will discover himself - I am just not sure the script or director are going to make it work out in the end so that Thonhon will be a character you want to sympathize with. The interactions between him and his family over the phone show that he has grown up in an environment where his father acts hypermasculine. His father appears to be stuck in an arranged marriage - and while seemingly caring for his wife, it all seemed a little fake (and I suspect a more soapy drama would probably be exploring the father discovering himself with a younger woman (or man?)). His sister and brother-in-law seemed very distant from each other - and their reaction to the demand for grandchildren seemed a little over the top (maybe I am just seeing fake relationships in every direction). As an aside, it took me a while to figure out that the Brother-in-law was Guy who played Dim in 2gether the series! Thonhon keeps touching Chonlatee - the hugging after the dance, the insistence that Chonlatee sleep in the same bed all definitely show that there is some buried feelings there. Hypothetically, if I came home to find my 2 roommates taking a shower together - I probably would ask some questions, though I wouldn't barge into the bathroom like Thonhon did. They seemed to gloss that over way too quickly - and the bedroom arrangement conversation should have set even more red flags off in Thonhon's brain (if he had a few brain cells). That said, the pairing of Ai and Ni is delightful (though Mike as Ni is still overacting in his cringey style at times) - and Mike and Toptap are clearly enjoying acting with each other. Also, I had no idea that Thai dogs meow - which was just an absolutely incredible scene. Chonlatee is adorably awkward with everyone - the scene with Pang that was in the trailer (her telling him that he had something that Amp did not while poking his chest - and Chon saying "my nipple?") was even better in context. I kind of felt like he is the Joey in much better Thai remake of Amore - all the boys seem into him - 1. the awkward brotherly affection (or is it more) from Thonhon, followed by 2. the cheesy flirtations of Neung [Gunsmile - aren't you getting a bit old to play a college student - at least they let Guy play a married man in this one - but it definitely is another case of GMMTV scraping the bottom of the barrel with their stable of actors and squeezing them into roles that they have outgrown] during the freshman orientation that came off as slightly creepy as Neung tried to convince Chonlatee to let Neung take pictures of him, and then 3. Neo (from 'Cause Your My Boy) playing Na (an over the top douchey rich kid with delusions of godhood) hits on him in a fashion that actually made Chonlatee look like the less awkward person. I will give them this - that awkward visit to the bar followed by the Massage Parlor? (I don't quite want to leap to the possibility that they went to a brothel - though many commentators on the videos seemed to think so) brought back memories of awkward closet-life and the well-meaning friends trying to fix you up with random girls, because they couldn't understand why you preferred to be single. Chonlatee was amazingly awkward - even the dance was surprisingly awkward (and why couldn't they get Toptap to do some real dancing?). But it was more a case of Thonhon trying to project an image of himself as a cool, sexy, straight guy - and confident. But if he was so into it, why call Ai in the middle of his massage? I kind of think he realized that he didn't want to do what he was doing - and on some level, he knows that Ai and Ni weren't going through with it either. So his declaration that he would be joining Ai was his escape plan. It still was a bit unforgivable to push Chonlatee (who clearly had absolutely no interest) into the hotel room with masseuse. Edited to add: I don't think I have ever used the word "awkward" so many times in a post before I will give Khaotung credit - I was hoping for the Wise Love Philosopher from 2gether the series (or at least the one of Win's friends who usually was the holder of the only braincell between the four of them), but he is convincingly delivering a very different, insecure and awkward kid that I am enjoying almost as much. Shows that he is actually very talented.

Chonlatee's mother now ranks as my favorite Thai mother.
Ton is pretty dense - the swarm of boys interrupting lunch was a delight. Na is a tiny bit full of himself and incredibly socially awkward - yet he manages to come off as really charming. Chonlatee - there are worse things then maybe letting that goofball take you out on a date. I kind of think that Chonlatee might just be Na's first crush, which is an interesting parallel to Chonlatee's feelings for Thonhon.
Well I am glad that Chonlatee didn't do anything with the woman at the Massage Parlor/Brothel/whatever that was - the manicure was actually pretty funny. I am less comfortable with Ai and Ni's plan to have them both pretend to be vying for Miriam's heart (frankly, Thonhon seemed okay with the idea of them being part of a throuple with her) while paying her to be part of this.

Na continued to be delightfully adorkable - and wasn't phased by Tonhon's brutal attack on Neung. And while I kind of get Chonlatee's reluctance to even consider Na as potential boyfriend, I wish they would pair up. I don't know if we are supposed to see Na as a uninvited hanger-on with Pang and Chonlatee - or if they have really brought him into their group as a friend/classmate. Na is generally positioned behind the two of them when they are walking or for example when they were waiting in line for their name tags. Tonhon is a master at sending mixed signals - the gym scene was definitely done for laughs, but I couldn't help feeling really sorry for Chonlatee there. Chonlatee is fairly insecure to begin with - and having Tonhon comment on his body like that was uncalled for. It is not pleasant to be put in that kind of situation, exposed to your crush while your crush does/says things that make you uncomfortable. Tonhon's dropped towel and the rather optimistic elephant logo censor did actually make me laugh pretty hard though. Then follow that up with Tonhon's confrontation with Neung. I actually did not care for Ai and Ni's choice of interrogation methods - it came off as bit creepy and like they were going to taking advantage of him. Though I did like how they brought Miriam in - during their later conversation about Tonhon's dad. She at least seemed like a voice of reason, whereas Ai and Ni are too blinded by Tonhon to realize just how awful it is that they have to hide themselves from him. A very weird power-dynamic in those friendships. Tonhon's ex is definitely get the evil ex-girlfriend edit and she is doing a masterful job of the playing the role to the hilt. The Birthday party really felt tacked on at the end - and they did not do a good job with the transition to it. But it was nice to see that Tonhon is also very insecure - and his insecurities have made Tonhon into the straight-acting, very much repressed person that he is. Tonhon has likely spent his whole life trying to be the ideal son to a pair of overbearing parents. His father is frankly an ass - macho, hypermasculine, and caring too much for his own image as the successful patriarch of the family. The mother appears to have been bull-dozed over long ago into a supporting character in her husband's life. They both pick at their daughter and son-in-law - berating them for the lack of grandchildren. Poor Guy and all those Oysters Then the father getting up in front of his friends, family, and employees and telling them that his only hope for grandchildren was his son - and then offering his son up to anyone with an empty (but fertile) womb. Just yuck - and the sad look on Tonhon's face, because he secretly knows that he is never going to be able to give his father what his father wants (even if Tonhon isn't ready to admit it yet). I also was a bit confused by the interaction between Tonhon's mother and Chonlatee - It wasn't quite the reaction I expected, which would have been something like: Oh no, here is the boy I was trying to keep my son away from, because I just know that if I don't do something, they will start kissing. But there was something off about it. I have to wonder if maybe there was more to the moving to Bangkok - that perhaps Tonhon's father and Chonlatee's mother had something going on in the past, and Tonhon's mother knew about it and wasn't happy. She seemed pretty frosty to Chonlatee's mother at the party. One last nice thing - now we know where Chonlatee gets his dancing skills from. I did not expect his mother to be doing the entertainment - nor expected Tonhon's father enjoying it so much.

While I can see that Chonlatee likes Tonhon, I just don't see him returning the feelings. On the other hand, while Na was a little irritating on the beginning, he really grew on me, and I would actually prefer ChonlateeNa more than ChonlateeTonhon.

Pod is so handsome. Sigh.
That's all I have to contribute, lol.
Have yet to like him aesthetically with any of his scene partners though, unfortunately. Which is why I can't get into this one, as undressed as he is all the time I can see.
Well, there was his debut as Sun in the Kiss series when he was Kao's potential love interest. He and New looked good together. Nice chemistry too. I wish they could actually play a main couple in a show.

I am not sure how it happened, but Miriam has become my favorite - even if she is enabling Ai and Ni's cover-up of their sexuality.
Thonhon is still doing a master class in making gay guys thirsty. His father continued the descent into toxic behavior that was telegraphed from the last few scenes of last week's episode. Giving strong support to the idea that nurture (or in this case lack of nurturing) shaped young Thonhon into the toxic masculine brat that he is today.
Chon is adorable and Khaotung got to dust off his wise love philosopher skills from 2gether with his portrayal of Chon trying to comfort Thonhon after Bai (I think that was her name) posted a picture of her new beau. The confrontation at the washing machine was hilarious - and I really liked how Chon kept copying Miriam when they were trying to chase Bai off.
I am really hoping that Bai isn't trying to roofie Chon so that he will head off willingly with Neung. I did like Na trying to be the White Knight and drinking Chon's drink instead - though right after the drink he looked a bit shocked with how strong the drink was, though he righted himself quickly and tugged on the confident persona that he seems to wear as a mask (I keep thinking Neo is playing Na as an insecure boy wearing the mask of a very confident player - and I kind of like that).
I can't believe that we are already more than half-way done with this show.

Huh, they started tackling this sooner than I thought. Thought they will drag this out as much as they can. I still much rather Chon be paired with Na than Ton though
