this is by the same production behind Amore? Not to my knowledge. They co-produced In Between though. Amore and Handsome Just Looking are both made by Star Image Digital Network.

Edited to add - a very good start. Another one to look forward to over the next few weeks. The boys have some nice chemistry.

I kind of thought that the guy who came to the restaurant was more interested in Kian (though with those dimples, who wouldn't be?) than Aron so far has been. Though from the promo for next week's episode, it looks like jealousy might finally get Aron's attention.
I don't think Kian has any idea just how much work a restaurant will entail - he seems more excited about the glamour of it, then considering the long hours of food preparation (not just the preparing, but ordering the ingredients and making sure all the equipment is ready to use), cleaning, dealing with staffing, and on top of that trying to make a go of it during COVID.

I think we are supposed to see Kian and Aron as being the same age - but Kian's immaturity makes me think he is younger. I think Kian is starting to realize that he has feelings for Aron - but has no understanding of how to tell him. Next week's unexpected visitor might really get Aron out of his "big brother caregiver role" and into a jealous suitor mode (here's hoping).

I think I remember that Kian was the youngest child - so I think his being the baby of the family left him quite spoiled. Many of his interactions with Aron seem to point to Aron also treating him as the kid brother - so I think it was a bit of a shock for him to realize that Aron was really upset. He was treating Aron like a servant - making him cook lunch for Kian and his friend, ordering him to film them instead of inviting him to lunch with the two. I don't think I would forgive him that easily (even if I was starting to realize that I had feelings for the kid).

Not a great deal happens in this series which makes me wonder why I like it so much, but I do. I think the slightly more isolated setting gives it a naturalistic vibe that is pleasant to watch and it also seems to have an innocent charm about it that keeps me interested too.
Both boys are adorable and even though Kian is a bit of a spoilt brat, he just has to smile and show his dimple to win me over (yes, I can be that shallow!). I loved their frolicking in the first half of the last episode which was cute and spontaneous and gave me a real indication that their bromance is now hurtling towards romance. I felt they both exposed a little of the deeper feelings they secretly have for each other.
Unfortunately they're not on the same page when it comes to their levels of maturity and that's the big issue that will need to be tackled in the remaining episodes. Kian falls back far too easily into treating Aron as an underling when it's convenient for him, and while the power balance might be in his favour at present, it's Aron who is the one who's learned to be truly self-dependant. Of the two, it's Kian who would be lost without Aron.
I have to admit, part of me wants Aron to continue with his already hard fought-for scholarship rather than just quietly fall into place as part of Kian's latest whim of running a restaurant, but we'll see... It the dreaded penultimate-curse episode next week so I'm expecting tears and a cliff-hanger.

I liked this show too - even if Kian was generally immature (and sometimes treated Aron as a servant and not a friend) and I never quite saw any sparks of passion between the two of them, it still showed at the end just how much they care for each other. One of those cases where friendship can build to something more. It might not have had the light fluffy first love feeling of Boy's Lockdown - but the production and cinematography was really nice. I guess the only show that in some ways had a similar vibe was the Thai show, Ingredients (mostly due to the food/cooking aspects and two friends living together).
Kian's relatives are really awful people though - informing him that his dad passed away by text is just terrible.
Last thing - Kian showed tremendous growth - he was clearly proud that Aron had earned the scholarship, and while his facial expressions and tone were bittersweet - he did not for once make it about himself, but instead said the right things.
I am intrigued to see where they take this - the ending card stating that this was the end of Book I certainly promises more, and I actually find myself looking forward to it.
