I guess it's one thing having Roman in AWZ out (as a pro figure skater) and other pulling it off in a sport like boxing. A gay..........figure skater?! My God it boggles the imagination! Thinking about the culture in super-macho sports like boxing and one can easily understand the problem with homophobia that might arise.

My God it boggles the imagination! *snort* I almost made some horrible comment about how I thought they ALL were, but your's is so much funnier (and not sterotypical like mine would have been). It's the skin-tight spandex, sequins and sparkles--no one can resist those.

beof, I do think that Christian was looking to cover. I think the "wouldn't be too bad" thing was a reflection of the fact that Christian has never really liked Olivia and isn't very enthusiastic about having her around. The phrase "old married couple" was also used by Lars to describe Christian and Olli to Judith when she was looking to move into the flat share. Based on that, and on the way the boys interact, she assumed that they were a couple, even though they weren't yet at that point. So maybe Christian is sensitive to those words? Even though she got off to a good start, being knowledgeable about boxing, Olivia quickly started to irritate Christian by getting drunk and hitting on him, which was more than he bargained for when he agreed to this little champagne party. I actually thought that C was saying that being with O longterm wouldn't be so bad -just from reading their body language but I don't know what the original German said - so that's only a guess. (Responding to beof) * merged the two separate posts of the quote and your response to it into one post.

No, I didn't get that impression from the original German. Christian first says maybe they should party with Olivia after all. Then a few lines about why. Then he asks Olli if he is in the mood for that? Which to me refered back to partying with Olivia.

And the womens' outfits look nice too!

(And she went to sleep with a boxing glove of Christian's, snuggled with it, even. *g*) I was re-watching this episode and noticed a few other details that I overlooked on previous viewings: * Not only was Olivia clutching one of Christian's boxing gloves like a Teddy bear, she was using the other glove as a pillow. * Judith seems so much more "glammed up" than usual. She comes across as a very beautiful, self-assured woman, rather than the whiny indecisive girl pining (God only knows why) after Fabian while hottie Constantin is willing to do anything for her. * While Christian and Olivia were arguing over who was the greatest boxer ever ( Joe Louis or Muhammad Ali), Olli piped in with Max Schmeling. Not being a boxing fan, I didn't know if he was just making a joke or being serious. Turns out, Olli must know a bit about boxing too. I looked up Max Schmeling on Wikipedia; he has quite an interesting story himself. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Max_Schmeling* When Olivia climbed onto Christian's bed, Olli had a comforter over his head. But in the next moment, he turned onto his right side, snuggling up against Olivia (who he assumed was Christian). That would mean Olli was lying on his back with the comforter draped over his face. That's not really a natural sleeping position for anyone, so I can only imagine it was used to set up the subsequent action. * I don't think I have a particular fetish for feet but Christian and Olli's feet do look SOOO cute poking out from underneath the bedding.
