News for Guy! Something to watch out for in early 2009. He has a guest role in The Royal as a wired on drugs/boozed up DJ! EXCLUSIVE: Guy Burnet to guest in 'The Royal' Saturday, November 1 2008, 00:02 GMT By Kris Green, Soaps Editor Lime Pictures Guy Burnet is to make a guest appearance in The Royal as a crazed DJ in his first post-Hollyoaks role, Digital Spy can exclusively reveal. The 25-year-old, who is most noted for his role as Craig Dean in the Channel 4 teen soap, filmed his scenes as DJ Lenny earlier this week on a boat in Southampton. Speaking of the part, he told DS: "It's an amazing character. I feature in a one-off episode where I play a late '60s radio DJ who's wired on drugs and booze - and he's got a gun. "He's a completely over-the-top character. It's the best thing I've ever done - it's amazing. I've been filming all week on a boat." The show's producer Ken Horn said: "We are so pleased to have Guy join the cast of the The Royal as a guest star in one of his first roles since leaving Hollyoaks. "It's a really dramatic and exciting episode and Guy is perfect for the role of Lenny the DJ. We had a great time filming the scenes on a boat in Southampton and Guy was a delight to work with." Burnet's scenes in The Royal are due to air in the early part of 2009. Later this month, he returns to his role of Craig Dean for five episodes of Late Night Hollyoaks, scheduled to air on E4 from Monday, November 24. Burnet quit his Hollyoaks role last August, but his character made a brief comeback in September for his much-anticipated Sunset Ending with John Paul McQueen (James Sutton). Wow something to look forward to. Thank you for this. I love Guy Burnet he is awesome!! and the way he played the Character Craig was simply amazing.

Article on DS re James' role in Casualty!! Lime Pictures Former Hollyoaks actor James Sutton has landed a guest role in BBC One's flagship medical drama Casualty. The 25-year-old, who played popular character John Paul McQueen for two years, will appear as Eli, a narcoleptic whose condition causes him to spontaneously fall asleep. Eli's close friend Jenna (Pippa Duffy) asks him to watch her cat while she's at work, but when Eli notices that she's left something behind, he decides to follow her. However, as he waits as the bus stop, he suddenly falls asleep and misses his ride. Walking along the road later, he is startled by a group of girls who are out on their Christmas party. When they playfully approach him, he crumples into a heap on the ground. Unbeknown to the flirtatious group, Eli also suffers from cataplexy, a disorder which induces sleep attacks and is commonly linked to narcolepsy. As he continues his journey, he is soon confronted by two yobs on bikes who try to steal his bag, causing him to collapse once again. Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy, Sutton said of the role: "It was a really interesting part to play and I did some great research, too. Narcolepsy isn't a condition you really hear about, either. Casualty's a great place to work and I had a blast filming." Series producer Oliver Kent added: "I'm a big fan of Hollyoaks and this was a great opportunity to cast a fantastic actor like James Sutton." Sutton's episode - entitled 'Doing The Right Thing' - was filmed in mid-September and will transmit on Saturday, December 13 on BBC One. Sutton quit his Hollyoaks role in June when the McDean storyline reached its natural Sunset Ending conclusion. He made a brief reappearance when mad man Niall Rafferty attempted to kill the entire McQueen clan by blowing them up in a church. Earlier this month, it was announced that Sutton's former co-star Guy Burnet is to make a guest appearance in ITV medical drama The Royal. Plus first pic of him in the role! www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/a1...-casualty.html

I'm so glad that James' 'spreading his wings' with a guest-star role on a show that I heard reaches lots of viewers. Good for him. If I lived in Kent, I might have done that contest for the panto, Carl. Lots of excited fans are anxiously awaiting to see Jake as Jack!

Yeah, it's great that both he and Guy are in shows on prime time TV, on the more popular channels and on popular shows with big viewing audiences - in a brief space of time. Both in medical dramas too!!
Let's hope it's a harbinger of great futures for them both!!

Carl, I hope that Jake had a great opening night for the play he's in this weekend AND I think the charity thing he's doing is happening tomorrow as well. Only a couple of more weeks until the LNHO specials.

So did the whole cheating, lying thing with Craig not teach Sarah anything at all?

Or, the situation in 2006 with Sarah finding out about her mother's affair with her boyfriend Rhys. So did the whole cheating, lying thing with Craig not teach Sarah anything at all?

That is one of the stupidest storyline directions I have seen in a long time especially considering the history of both characters. Rubbish.

{blasphemy} Eh. James isn't Laurence Olivier. IMHO he did some less than Shakespeare stuff in his time on Hollyoaks too. So I don't feel he would have been above it or anything.{/blasphemy} re: Sarah/Zoe It's a Soap Opera. And it's a late night mini-series. Some lesbian frolicking is completely in keeping with that in my opinion. Personally I don't see what the big deal is. If characters didn't fall into bed unrealistically/indiscriminately, we wouldn't have any of these stories to watch.

Nope, I agree that James isn't the second coming of Laurence Oliver, but I'm still pleased as punch that he decided to opt out of participating in this late night project.

A Guy Burnet interview: Burnet: I'm proud of gay storyline! Guy Burnet has been describing his pride over being involved in ground-breaking Hollyoaks storylines, as he returns in the soap's spin-off mini series. The actor will bring back his popular character Craig Dean for Hollyoaks Later, and for once the cheeky student's gay relationship with John Paul McQueen (James Sutton) will take a back seat. But Guy was still keen to talk about the impact the storyline has had. "I can't tell even you how proud I am, it was basically the baby of me, James and (producer) Bryan Kirkwood and we worked on it really hard for two years," says Guy. "Initially the idea was that it would be a gay relationship between these two guys, but I don't think that's as interesting as flawed characteristics. "So you had John Paul coming out as being gay and proud, but he had to deal with his family's religion and then you have something that was never covered in any medium, which was a character who was heterosexual who you then had to justify being attracted to a man," he adds. "In doing my research, I found a lot of people who perhaps were married with children and then discovered they had gay tendencies. "You can't categorise Craig Dean in any way, he said 'I don't know what I am, I'm confused', which I know p****d a lot of people off, but I think there were a lot of people out there who related to that and they're the people I wanted to do it for." :: Hollyoaks Later is on E4 from Monday November 24 and on Channel 4 from Monday December 1. www.thisislincolnshire.co.uk/...l/article.html
