Coming in 2019, a six-part BBC miniseries writen by Russell T Davies (Queer as Folk, Doctor Who). inews.co.uk/culture/years-and-years-everything-we-know-about-the-new-russell-t-davies-and-emma-thompson-political-drama/"As Britain is rocked by unstable political, economic and technological advances, we follow the Lyons family as their complex lives converge on one crucial night in 2019," the synopsis reads. "Then, over the next 15 years, the twists and turns of everyday life are explored as we find out if this ordinary family could ever change the world." Openly gay actors Russell Tovey and Dino Fetscher will be playing a couple in the miniseries.

Something to look forward to. I know the gay content won't be nearly as bold as QAF or Cucumber since it's targeted at a general audience, but it's from RTD and stars Russell Tovey - two ticks from me.

I loved the premiere, looks like Tovey's character is the main character among the main characters, right?

I thought it was a fairly ensemble show but yes he was featured more than some of the other main characters.
I did find the "graphic gay sex" scene that Russell was promoting before the premiere to be overhyped, as usual. I wish actors would just stop telling us how explicit/daring nudity/sex scenes they've filmed are, because without fail, those tend to be the least worth the hype. You would think it was at least London Spy levels of explicitness, whereas this was little more than Days of Our Lives (when Guy Wilson and Christopher Sean were doing the sex scenes).
Still, hurray for the former Liam from Hollyoaks playing gay in this - always thought he was cute and found it a shame when they recast.

Yes. I remember London Spy being way more graphic, so these headlines are a bit sensationalist.
