So this show got yanked from US broadcast due to unfortunate coincidence with school shootings, but it's since aired in European countries. One of the Heathers, Heath(er) Duke, is a genderqueer character played by Brendan Scannell. And apparently, in this version, (highlight to read spoiler) one of the jocks, Kurt (played by Cameron Gellman) is in fact gay and in love with Heather.

I watched the first episode before they yanked it and there was nothing wrong with the content

I watched the first episode before they yanked it and there was nothing wrong with the content Some people were (very vocally) outraged by the depiction of the plus-sized character, the black lesbian and genderqueer character as the bullies of straight, white, cisgender characters. Netflix has a similar problem with its show Insatiable which is due to premiere next week - some very vocal critics managed to gather 200,000 signatures on a petition to have it cancelled because they perceive it as promoting fat-shaming.

I mean, it's kinda of fucked up they would have a show like this when we know what the reality is
