I saw someone pointed out on twitter that the school year in Skam starts in August. Is this true? If it is, that means that Even had his eyes on Isak since 2 mths before the start of the season. I think so, they must start early because of their winters. I think the first time Isak sees Even and is intrigued by him in the cafeteria is in October. Which means that Even had a two month head start on crushing on Isak. And if the school in Skam is anything like mine, almost all the kids went to the same school together since elementary school. Which means that everybody probably knows everyone as a basic level like you would at a work place. So it probably didn't take Even a long time to find out Isak's name and info. I wonder if Even did his own internet search on Isak to find out all he could.

I love how coming out has made Isak far more popular at the school than any of the other guys. I also love how comfortable and confident Isak is now. Big contrast from where he was at the beginning of the season. Kind of bizarre seeing Jonas high-fiving Isak over Isak's preference to bang him first. Magnus being upset that Isak doesn't want to bang him is pretty funny. I'm pretty sure Magnus will be a focus of the next season. He's such a great character.

I loved the looks on the boys' faces as the girls approached... especially Magnus with his mouth hanging open.

Yeah that was a fun little scene. I didn't even expect to get a clip today. Isak is so much more comfortable with himself now that he can be himself, and now that his friends support him for who he is. I LOL'd at the conversation about who Isak would bang first. I guess it depends on who your friends are, but answering that question seems like it could be ... problematic. I also LOL'd at the fact that Isak was the only one not drooling at the girls when they walked up.

I think Isak has always been a bit more popular at school than the rest of the boys. At the very least, this season, they seem to depend on him a lot for invites to parties. Nice to see the slight reference to the crush that Isak had on Jonas before. Also great to see how comfortable the boys are with talking about which of them Isak would bang.

I'm starting to think Magnus is going to be the lead for next season. And perhaps his story will be about getting him a girlfriend and getting him some rompy pomy because I'm starting to think Magnus is a virgin. He's just reminds me so much of a rolly polly puppy with not much of a clue when it comes to the opposite sex. Each season is about the person shame right? Well Magnus is such a happy go lucky guy who doesn't seem phased by much, I could see feeling embarrassed that all his friends are having active sex lives, where his is kinda non existence.

Hey, Even came to the party after all! I'm glad the felt up to it. Looks like he's coming out of his depression. He and Isak were even able to joke about his having running away naked. It was a nice way to wrap up the season. Everyone knows Isak and Even are together and they're both ok with that, and with showing it. I couldn't tell what Sana gave to Isak. It felt like a reference to something in the past that I didn't see. Can anyone enlighten me? Also looks like things are starting between Magnus and Vilde. I laughed at Even's advice to him: take "desperate" to a new level. Kudos to the actors and the show for this season. Yeah, I would have liked to see more, but I'm happy with what they did. I'm curious if they'll be back in supporting roles next season, and how things go for them. It looks like they're both taking things one day at a time.

Sana gave Isak some marijuana. It is an inside joke based on early in this season when Sana hid Isak's marijuana from the party at the start of the season.
I have to say, I hope next season is about Sana or Magnus. Both of them are growing on me so much. Magnus is so adorkable and awkward while Sana has this biting humour that I would love to see more of.
I also love that they addressed Isak's and Eva's past. It helps put some of Isak's growth this season in context. Isak had grown a lot and really want to stop living a lie, which really does help his confidence level. I also liked that he isn't going into this relationship with blinders on. He know that it will be hard and there will be ups and downs, but he likes Even at this moment and he wants to live in the now.

In ep1 when police came to party at Eva's house. Isak hid his pot in a jar but Sana was sitting there and saw it. She took it out and kept because it might get Eva problem if police found it. Later she used it to blackmail Isak to come to Kosegrouppa. When she returned it after that she said she kept 10% out of that. Isak wondered why. She answered just to be cool to have it. And because of that, Isak had to go to meeting where he met Even. That's why she said to Isak that it is actually useful to have it somehow.
It's really good Julie Andem wrapped everything around in season finale. Although there was a closure between Isak and Eva in s1 ending. But their friendship is not the same anymore. Now it's more clear and they are back on track again. I used to think that the thing between Isak and Eva is only linked by Jonas. But in last ep confirmed that Eva-Jonas is done, no more turning back. Still Isak and Eva's friendship is much deeper than that. It will be nice to see in next season though it will be only background story. Only left in my mind is, will Jonas ever know about that, eventually?
Also I think Isak still think that his life will be much better without people with mental illnesss around him. But he grow ups so fast and choose the difficult one for his life instead and he see there is nothing wrong about it at all. He is happy now with Even. He is ready to face everything either up or down. Also, it's clearly that he and Even's mother is already in contact before Even even knew it and he is in good term with his own parent. So he got friends support and family support. That is what everyone could ask for.
Who is for next season? I'll take any surprise Skam will give us. They have done very good job. It sure will be new trend on TV from now on when we are drowning in melodrama for so long.

Two of my favorite characters for sure.

Well, it was quite a satisfying finale, all things considered. A bit quieter than I'd expected but it proves you can still satisfy viewers without melodrama.
I do wonder if the Romeo and Juliet/death iconography early in the season was always intended as a fakeout or if a more tragic conclusion was scrapped once the showrunner realized how popular Isak and Even were (and how negatively the suicide of a mentally ill gay character would be seen as).
In the last two season finales, didn't we get a hint as to the principal protagonst of the subsequent season when that character looks directly into the camera at the end of the finale? We didn't get that hint this time, did we? Or was Even smiling at Isak meant to be that moment? I would love to see the world through Even's eyes - something we sorely missed this past season. And it would mean we could continue the boys' story next year.
I would be fine with either Sana or Magnus too, though I doubt it would be the latter. Or could this have been the last season, since all the story threads from season 1 were wrapped up, and that's why no one looked into the camera?

I don't think they had planned a romeo and juliet ending. during the hotel marriage talk thing they kind of lured an explanation in with Even telling Isak that he would think it was a romeo and juliet refference but he would later understand that it wasn't romeo and juliet but pretty woman instead, where they save eachother.

I was surprised by how non-committal Isak was when Eva asked him if Even is the man of his dreams. Eva had to ask several follow-up questions to find out if things are OK between Isak and Even. Of course, this was mostly Isak keeping it real since he doesn't know what the future holds with a bipolar boyfriend. Still, it's the first crack we've seen in Isak's love for Even. It's the first glimpse we've gotten at the toll all the drama with Even has taken on him. "Stressful," Eva said, commiserating with Isak. Of course, it's more realistic for the show to leave Isak and Even's future up in the air rather than give everyone a phony happily ever after ending. Story wise, though, it does open the door to a post-Even Isak in future seasons. If Henrik is not available or simply not hired for the next season, this conversation Isak had with Eva could be the launch point for what we see going on with Isak - to the extent he is shown next season.
It was sad to say goodbye to Isak because although we may see him in future seasons the way that we saw Jonas and other characters this season, this is probably the end of exploring Isak. It's good then that we see him in such a mature, grounded, happy place. He's an adult now and looks set to have an amazing life.
I'm not quite as sure as I was before that next season will be Vilde and Magnus. There was a lot of foreshadowing about them in recent weeks, but that could have all been pointing towards their hookup at the Christmas party, which brought their mini-story arc to a completion. So next season could be about anyone, I guess. If I had to put money on it, I'd probably still pick Vilde and Magnus, but I wouldn't feel very confident about it.
This has certainly been one of the best, most memorable stories I've ever experienced. The way social media and the Internet was used to make the story immersive was very innovative. Of course, SKAM had already been doing this for two previous seasons. All the press write-ups about the success of the show fail to mention that it took a gay story line to make the show an international sensation. Gay romance is more potent, in part, because gay characters face more obstacles to their love. The whole coming out thing adds another layer of drama. Interestingly, all the barriers that Isak faced in regards to coming out and being himself proved to be barriers that existed only in his head. That's a good lesson for closeted teens watching the show, although in truth not everyone experiences such a painless coming out.
Another aspect of the show that I've yet to see mentioned in articles that marvel at its success is how great the acting has been this season. All the actors did well, but Tarjei was amazing! Since the season was focused so tightly on Isak, surely the incredible job Tarjei did conveying Isak's inner and outer struggles played a huge role in drawing so many people to the show. Future article writers should mention that, I believe.

I totally agree with you about the amazing performance of Tarjei. Also, I think the Henrik Holm's acting was equal to Tarjei's. The whole cast was excellent for that matter. I often felt as if I was watching real conversations between a bunch of teenagers -- thinking of the last kitchen scene where Jonas, Mahdi and Isak are trying to pump up Magnus to go talk to Vilde. They were so natural bantering between themselves.
I don't think there was crack in Isak's love for Even. I think, as you wrote, that Isak was keeping it real. It seemed to me Isak was as much in love as ever but knew there would be ups and downs. I loved the way he joked with Even in the kitchen about being hired to look after him. Hopefully he can keep it relaxed and not be perceived by Even as being controlling like Even viewed Sonja.
