Thank you, Mimi.
Poor Joscha. Being punished in the worst way for a stupid error in judgment. I hope Kai eventually realizes that Joscha's reason for not telling him the truth was based in love and not in willful deceit like David's.
Good thing little Annabell has two decent brothers, because both of her parents are the worst.

I can't help think that Kai's grief and anger is clouding his judgement here. He can't see how Joscha was struggling to figure out whether to tell him about his dad. Joscha found out on the day of her funeral, he couldn't turn around and say "oh by the way, i know who the mystery man is that caused your family so much pain, its my dad"!!!!
when david said that they agreed it was going to be nothing more than an affair, if she left her family in the hope that he would leave his, then he shouldn't really take all of the blame (even though he clearly messed up BIG style!!!!) for her suicide attempt.

Hmm. So many mixed thoughts. On the one hand, I think Kai is being a bit impulsive. He certainly is full of anger and anguish. It's not clear that he's considering the impossible situation that David put Joscha in. But at the same time I can't fault him too much for not wanting to deal with it. How long has he been dreaming of what he would do if he ever found the man who hurt his father? And then he finds out his boyfriend figured it out but hid that knowledge. If he and Joscha got closer, he would have to deal with David (one way or another). That's a very unpalatable thought, especially considering the anger he's held for so long. For his part, Joscha really should have told Kai the truth right away. Or maybe not the day of the funeral, but very soon thereafter. It's never good to hold on to a secret of that magnitude for very long. I get that he was torn between his father and Kai. He didn't know how to tell Kai, and to a certain extent was trying to protect Kai. And his father from Kai. I dunno, it seems like he didn't have any good options. Hopefully Kai will realize that eventually, though I still wouldn't blame him if he didn't get back together with Joscha. I still don't like David. He's right that Kai's mother is the only one accountable for her own actions. In his conversation with Joscha, though, it came across as pretty self-serving. It's not clear that he's ever really owned up to his role in what happened. We also have only David's word that he would never leave his wife for her and that that was understood. But he's shown to be pretty selfish, and I doubt that that's an unbiased interpretation. Unfortunately, we'll never know. Thanks Mimi!

Thanks Mimi! i've been thinking about Kai's leaving. it was very selfish on his part. Joscha tried to talk to him, but Kai just completely shut him out. this was really out of character for Kai. if Kai runs away what's to say he would not do it again? Joscha was always the one who couldn't take a stand and kept changing his mind. he reminds Kai that he came out for him! yes, Kai is hurt, but he wouldn't even listen to Joscha's thinking. maybe Joscha will be better off without Kai. he could grow in a lot of ways. sadly, we will never know since AWZ fired everybody. what was behind all of that?

Kai's head is all over the place right now, and the person that he trusted the most, he feels betrayed him. He needs some time to himself. I think he has to sort it all out in his head. If he would have stayed he would have taken all the hostility out on Joscha and they would not have recovered from that, this way he goes away for a bit and thinks about how much Joscha has sacrificed for him and he will realize that what Joscha did he did out of love and concern.

Danke, Mimi!
I was a little surprised that Joscha treated his father well. I didn't expect that.
Kai did seem to be thinking about what David said. I still wouldn't blame him for leaving, though I would prefer that he stay.

Thanks, Mimi! Good for Joscha, not letting the haters keep him down. Not that it'll be easy, but it'll be worth it. And now, let's see if Kai decides to go with him.

Well, Kai came back (and smiled so sweetly), so he seems to have decided to be an adult again, too.

I don't think Kai ever stopped being an adult... Agreed. How was Kai not being an adult, when he displayed a normal reaction of disappointment in finally being told the truth?

I don't think Kai ever stopped being an adult... Agreed. How was Kai not being an adult, when he displayed a normal reaction of disappointment in finally being told the truth? Agreed as well. I think saying to yourself you need some space is a very mature way to handle things. Gives a person a chance to evaluate outside of the problem. I was more surprised to find this in a soap more than anything!!! But I suppose it would be so different from Kai's character they couldn't pull it off.
