I can't wait til the dvd comes out, I am loving the bits and pieces I get to see. I still need to purchase the first season, but I wanted to give the new actor a complete fair shot and not watch Andy (R.I.P.) again just yet.

I think the new actor that's playing Spartacus kinds of favor Andy. But Any is truly missed.

I think the new actor that's playing Spartacus kinds of favor Andy. But Any is truly missed. He is missed, but I know he's support Liam if he was alive. Liam's Spartacus is good and he brings a different feel to the character. I'm enjoying him too, but I'm also enjoying the other characters. Crixsus, what little I've seen in clips, seems a lot different. He thinks about things a bit more it seems. Loving Naevia, girl's got skills with a sword!

Thanks for the link kevvoi! I hope the next episode (the final of season 2) will have some more of Agron and Nasir. Can't wait to see what will happen in season 3!

Can someone explain to me what's going on, or not going on with Spartacus/Mira? I only get to see the clips from Tumblr, so I'm not too sure what's up between the two. Twice now Mira has been told how lucky she is to have Spartacus, but she's shone no enthusiasm for the comments. Instead she's either just said nothing, or made comments regarding them not being together. However, nothing makes sense to me since I don't get to watch the full episodes.
Thanks in advance for the help.

Mira is concerned because she feels she can never live up to Spartacus' dead wife and she knows that Spartacus may never be fully open to her.

Ah, okay that's what I thought it was at first, but after episode 9's response to Naevia I wasn't so sure. Thanks to both of you.

Also: Mira and Spartacus essentially broke up in episode 9.
Basically everybody thought that Mira/Spartacus were the perfect couple or knew that she was his woman, but she knew she was living on borrowed time because she loves him more than he loves her. If you think about it, in the context of this show it's actually pretty big that she would even break up with him for that reason when she could just have kept her status by pretending that nothing was wrong and Spartacus would probably have been ok with that (it's not that Spartacus digs anybody else more than her, it's just that he doesn't dig anybody).
Though essentially he didn't fully trust her emotionally/romantically anymore because she tried to murder the roman woman/praetor's wife they captured as a twisted attempt to please him.

Okay, so when she's talking to Naevia then they've already broken up or are on their way to it. The way Spartacus is written, Sura was the love of his life and it makes sense that Mira feels she doesn't measure up. The one thing I love about Spartacus/Mira though is that they are both fighters. She's the strongest female charcter on the show. However, Spartacus has never been about meaningless violence. Thank you all for responding. I don't mind being spoiled when it comes to this show, I know the history, so at this point its just twists and turns thrown in.

Yes they had just broken up. Their break up was pretty sad I thought They are still such a good team but she just wants more than that and he doesn't have more to give so they are at an impasse. Though I wonder if breaking up with Sparty actually just increased Mira's chances for actual survival Since now she's no longer required to actually stay with him till the bitter end just to live up to her love for him. Though she might still do that. I just think it would be a cool twist if all of the guys die (like history pretty much requires) but all the women (like Mira, Saxa and Naevia) get away. I'm no history buff, but my understanding was that nobody completely knew who Spartacus was? So if the show wanted they could have cheated and have written for Spartacus to get away at the end of the series and somebody else was executed in his stead. But to me this episode made it clear that this could never happen. There is no point in Sparty surviving because he pretty much has nothing to live for anyway.

Yeah, historians are pretty much in agreement about two things: Spartacus was ONE of the leaders of this rebellion, and two [most] all the gladiators died in the end, but no one is sure of where or when Spartacus fell.

If we could decide who we loved, it would be much simpler, but less magical.

The way the show is going, I think it will be a while before they get there. But I'm sure the people in charge behind the show will have no problem killing the other characters. (Hopefully not Agron or Nasir or Mira)
I hope Mira and Spartacus that work through what happen. Because even though I'm sure he will never love Mira like he loved Sura. I think he does care for her more than any other woman. But it's clear that she cares more for him than he cares for her.
My friend let me borrow her first season (apparently she turned her 80 something grandmother onto the show, which I find hilarious) and I love it even with all the overdone blood. I think Andy did a great Spartacus and miss him, but I like Liam's version too. Anyway I've just gotten to the episode where Agron and Duro join the show. And already Agron has such fire in his eyes at being a slave. I chuckle at his reaction to seeing the other gladiator's well endowed virtue. Agron seems to have a strong hatred for Gauls, which makes me wonder if the Gauls and Germans were heated enemies. Or at least Agron and Duro have had bad encounters with Gauls in the past in their past.

Just a little something for the episode on friday from Ausiello! Question: Do you have any scoop on the Spartacus: Vengeance finale airing this Friday? —Evan Ausiello: Something happens in the final 10 minutes that is so shocking, I honestly thought it was a dream sequence or something. But it wasn’t. Elsewhere, Doctore’s eye scar is nasty.

There were some shockers in last night finale. I had to turn my head at some of it. It's just so bloody, but I still liked it. I can't wait till next season. I'm have to get Starz to watch season 3...My favorite couple is Agron or Nasir.

Review of the Spartacus finale courtesy of the Huffington Post, Definitely spoilerish if you haven't watched it yet: www.huffingtonpost.com/maureen-ryan/spartacus-vengeance-finale-review_b_1392687.html?ref=entertainment&ir=EntertainmentDon't read if you don't want things spoilded, but a paragraph of interest to us: There was a lot of death, but let's look at the positive side of the ledger. Agron and Nasir made it through, and I hope we see a lot more of them in future. (Sidebar: I almost love that I'm able to make this complaint about a bloody, occasionally crazy gladiator show: It wasn't gay enough! I loved the romance of the super-tough Barca and the sweet Pietros in Season 1, and one of the problems with the shorter, 10-episode "Vengeance" season is that there wasn't enough time to develop relationships among the supporting characters. I heard from a lot of fans who loved Agron and Nasir and enjoyed their relationship -- what little we saw of it. Let's hope for more of the Syrian-Germanic love story in Season 3.)
