Chandler received most of his nominations for non Wilson scenes. He was fantastic with Marlena, Sammi and EJ, with Sonny, not that much.
Anyway when i said he was non a factor i was not talking about his acting, wich was good, i was talking about him giving ratings and him being unable to do anything to make a borefest storyline something interesting.
The comparisions are simply not fair. Chandler created the character, Guy has little chances of winning the comparision. A recast only shines (at least when he starts in the role like this case) when the new actor is a lot better than the original, something that generally only happens when the original one was really bad, and this is not the case.
With the current writting they could recast Will and Sonny with Brad Pitt and George Clooney and the storyline will be equally boring

With the current writting they could recast Will and Sonny with Brad Pitt and George Clooney and the storyline will be equally boring Chandler did not originate Will. There were like 4 actors in the role before him. Also, a good actor can take a so-so script and make it interesting (think Julia Roberts in Erin Brockovich). I found Chandler to be still interesting to watch often when the material for Will was substandard. So far, I've only like Guy's performances when he's acts to the level of good written scenes which of course there has not been much of those at as of late. He is wallpaper in poorly conceived scenes.

Alright, this line of conversation needs to stop now. The repetition is dangerously close to actor bashing. You've all shared your opinions, but I think it's time to move on to a different topic.

Are Nick and Gabi leaving close together? I believe she's leaving first, but is he close behind her or further behind?

Oh, I thought I heard somewhere she was going first. Yes, someone finally got rid of Nick, I wish the actor well. But Nick was just so horrible, I couldn't watch him without wanting to smack him.

I had also read somewhere that Blake was still taping after she left but unless he's haunting people I don't see how that can be true.

Well he does do haunting well considering the last time he was killed. So it's for sure he's dead this time, someone shot him through the heart? I really don't want Nick coming back from the dead again.

Ugh, please no more Nick. I have nothing against Blake, but Nick is just too slimy, arrogant, and insane for words. He's better off gone from the show.

So Will confesses to the murder. This is just another Days plot driven move to force the real killer, Gabi, to come forward.

Will confessing is stupid. Leaving his child without his father to raise him? Dumb.
And those summer spoilers? Will gets a job offer? Zzzzz...................

I wanted Sonny to confess because I wanted him to get some attention instead of Will, but Will confessing makes a lot of sense. Lucas is Hope's prime suspect and Will and his Dad just had a conversation about how Will was saved by Lucas going to jail for him. He also carries guilt for not paying for his crime, so in a twisted way, he probably feels like he's paying his dad back. Also, Will feels responsible for creating this situation with Nick through the fact that he didn't pay for his initial crime, so he might feel guilty for Lucas feeling like he had to shoot Nick in the first place. Will covering for Sonny has another dimension. I think he's taken to heart all the stuff Adrienne said about Sonny being drawn into criminal activity for his benefit, so I can see how he wouldn't want Sonny to go to jail when he feels like he dragged him into this mess. While it's nice to think that Sonny would do anything for him, I don't think Will could live with the guilt of knowing Sonny compromised himself for his benefit. Will has also been raised with the idea that going to prison for someone is noble, not foolish, and that it is the ultimate gesture of love. Regarding Ari: she wouldn't be alone because Gabi and Sonny would be around. Sonny also is the main earner in the house, so Will might feel that Sonny can at least provide for Ari in his absence. I think the crux of this issue for Will is responsibility. I think Will would like to be a good example for Ari, and when she's old enough to understand, she'd probably respect him more for his choice. This of course is all theoretical, because neither Sonny, nor Lucas killed Nick, Will's motivation is complex. I hope they touch on some of that this week. As to the Summer Spoilers, the job offer sounds bland but at least they are causing some drama, instead of letting everyone play Happy Families when this is murder mystery is over. I don't expect a lot to happen for Wilson until Sami and EJ leave, but I still think there's enough time after they've left to set something major up for 2015. But who knows, this job offer could cause enough discord that Sonny starts spending more time at the club and has a flirtation with one of the bartenders. Or Will's new job could bring him into contact with a new guy and Sonny could get jealous. Ken Corday isn't a writer and when he talks about spoilers, he always leaves out stuff or implies something that doesn't happen. I'll wait and see and hope to be surprised like I always do. Even if there is no third party, it's good to show the challenges of marriage. Maybe they'll have fights that will last more than half an hour, which would be an improvement.

So the current spoilers say that Will is getting a new job soon and that a 3rd party will be coming between WilSon in the future. Anybody have more insight or speculation? Could this 3rd party be Will's new boss? I would love it if my avatar would swoop in and rescue Sonny from Will/Arianna for a while.
