If we could decide who we loved, it would be much simpler, but less magical.

Totally agree. I thought for several past episodes now that Eytan wasn't in love with Erez, so I was waiting for this relationship to end. It's sad for Erez, but better for Eytan. Yeah I wanted to give Erez a big hug, and I get where Eytan is coming from. I'm not a big fan of his and I wish he would get his stuff in order.

There is a pilot called "Quintuplets" (based on Reviat Ran) which is apparently one of the many under consideration by CBS who are looking to pick up 3 to 5 new drama series for the 2010-2011 season. With pilots starting to be delivered, more information is trickling in for the 2010-2011 season. Remember, it's still very early and many pilots have not been screened yet. This is Round 2, updating my previous, PRIMETIME PILOT PANIC: Early Hot List, with polling from agents, executives, showrunners, producers, directors, writers, etc.
QUINTUPLETS: The adaptation of the Israeli series has supporters. The script was strong. But people tell me the concept – about grownup quintuplets – remains somewhat risky. www.deadline.com/2010/04/primetime-pilot-panic-more-hot-list/* Thanks to Ed Kennedy on AfterElton's Morning Meme for the info www.afterelton.com/blog/edkennedy/morning-meme-042610

Damn them CBS peeps. :/ I just found an article from February where the creators of Reviyiat Ran were talking about the changes made for the American version and it actually sounded good and intriguing. GRRRR. Could kick them in the... *sigh* Anyhow, I posted parts 17 and 18. Sorry about the really long delay, but it couldn't be helped. The good news are that I'm going through a new treatment which feels like it's actually doing some good, so hopefully no more delays in the near future. Also, if you like my YouTube channel (matan4il), you should probably bookmark my Veoh channel as well (I'm listed there as matan4il1976) since I some, once I came back, that apparently all of the Amir and Harel vids were flagged (which I gather gives me a warning until someone decides to do something about it), just as part 3 of that storyline was, not too long before it was taken down. Yeah, so basically my Veoh account is like a back up address, 'k? Hope you're all having a lovely day, A.

This is Necrostrike on youtube, you've been missed!
I was so worried with talk of treatments before and your disappearance. I'm so relieved to see you're doing better.
And, yeah, I was highly doubtful CBS would pick it up. American TV is just nowhere close to that point where it can tell storylines with gay content in it as honestly as some Israeli dramas can afford.
It's a pity, really.

Honey, like I would ever forget who you are! *hugs* It's so good to see you too and I'm so sorry you were worried. But so much love is going out to you, I hope you know that! *mwah* And to be honest, I was hopeful. I know In Treatment is based on an Israeli format and that was a success which led to an increasing interest in new and original concepts that are being developed here. I was hoping the desire to give it a go would override whatever fears they might have had about the content, since they could present it as being experimental TV or something like that... :/ It is a pity, especially if Giora Yahalom, who's the writer, was attached to it (which I know he was). I really loved what he did with the characters and storylines.

When I heard about the pilot I feared they'd never pick it up as it is but there's always that little bit of hope (followed by shesh I hope they don't ruin it if they do). And you say the changes sounded good? Ah well... gonna make us appreciate the original all the more right Thanks for letting us know about your "backup" Veoh account.

softfurbear, honey, thank you for posting the update! I'm ashamed to admit that it's been so long, I couldn't remember what the code was for embedding vids... :"> The changes sounded good, yep! They made a few decisions that would have enabled them to explore a few more issues that are relevant to American (and Western) society right now. Sounded promising and I wish I could have at least read the script/s - - if they were good, I would have enjoyed them so much and if they did ruin the show in this version, then at least I wouldn't have been as sad to hear that it wasn't picked up. No problem. Right now it isn't updated with all the TRQ clips, but it will be soon, and ALL of the Amir and Harel clips are there, including the notorious part 3. ;D

Someone maybe didn't like that fact that the clip was so popular? It was my most watched vid before it was taken down (which isn't very surprising, if you ask me ).

New clip and the last one of season 1: Great drama. Otherwise, I can't wait for my Harel (and Amir) to grace my youtube screens.

Harmonium, glad you've enjoyed the drama. I hope season 2 will be good as well. *crosses fingers* I have to admit that if I'm to sum up season 1, I think it was all about the drama of the good son and the "bad" son switching roles, how that came to be, and now Eytan is on the road to finding some middle road where he doesn't have to follow a role, neither good or bad. I'm really curious to see how that will work out. Either way, I hope you're enjoying Amir and Harel's return! Now I'm off to start working on the next part. I'm gonna try and get as much done as I can before Yom Kippur. Softfurbear, I notice your Hebrew every time and I'm glad you're sticking with it! If you want me to ever translate anything for you, just say the word. Anything I can do for you is a pleasure! *mwah*

This is one of the most realistic shows I've seen in terms of family drama. Just raw, ugly stuff. The show also doesn't seem to make an effort to sanctify any characters - the main characters are a mess. I find that more believable than some of the nicer characters like Erez, because with Erez I end up thinking, "Well if he's that nice/sweet/innocent/etc. when was he carrying on with a married man, why would he take Eytan out to meet hot guys if he didn't expect Eytan to be tempted," and so on. I did like the actor who played Erez, I just didn't believe the writing for him.
I kind of think they might get more mileage out of a Nivo/Neta/Eytan triangle at the moment, but after that I would like to see Eytan's sexuality further explored.

Carld2, I hope the second season will be to your liking, then! It -will- be coming to my channel and I believe that it will happen soon, if my Fibromyalgia/Diabetes combo doesn't act up. Keep your fingers crossed for me?

I also stumble into this thread and then started to watch the gay-themed clips. I applaud the producers giving the viewers a frank glimpse into gay life. It's a series with a gay character whose behaviors that actually mimics the experiences faced by many modern gay men, so many gay men are likely nodding along as events in the story unfold. On what has happened to the gay characters, many gay men would likely have similar experiences or heard friends devastated by them. Depravity of character from lack of self restrain happens to either sexual orientation. The frightening question is whether or not there have been enough female viewers to support further production of this gay storyline?
