I think you put that metal bat away too early. Tell me about it! I can only imagine how many straight women wish they had husbands as attentive to their feelings as Noah (and Luke) seem to be towards Ameera! They're the ones doing her the huge favor here! Yet they're forever asking her permission to basically be themselves! They deserve some serious metal bat action!

I found myself asking several times why Noah & Luke kept checking with Ameera if she was ok with everything. Why are they forgetting that they are doing her a favor? I think you might need a spare bat cause all the stupid my break the first one. It was just ridiculous, though I was amused by Noah's stance by the door when he called Luke, as if some wild animal was lose in the room.

Yes indeed. His look of terror was actually rather entertaining. It was roughly the same look you'd have if you came home and found an alligator in your kitchen.
I'm also annoyed because of the spoilers. It may not have occurred to Noah and Luke yet, but being married to Muslim doesn't mean that Noah has to enforce Sharia Law on her. She can in fact go out in public without him. It's Oakdale, not Basra out there. If he and Luke need some alone time it would not be inappropriate to ask her to go out somewhere for a few hours.
Any arguments she might make about being uncomfortable going out by herself could be easily countered by pointing out that she managed to make it all the way to Oakdale from Iraq without a male relative (or anyone else supposedly) to look after her. Why would a trip to Old Town alone be so horrifying? And no, the ICE don't count as an excuse either. Because unless they have an exchange program going with the Sadrist militia, it is not considered illegal nor unusual for married women in America to go out in public unescorted by their husbands.
My God these guys are so dense I want to smack their heads until their useless brains get knocked out!

Today's AE liveblog was interesting......Brian noticed that he talked about the commercials way too much during the blog.
"He (Luke) says that if it's going to work, Noah has to come to him."
What a relief. I'm glad that Luke regained some common sense about all the things that he was doing/sacrificing, in order to help his boyfriend come to the assistance of a total stranger (the plot device) that he's only known for about 2 months now. I understand being nice, but this situation is utterly ridiculous.
Why should Luke have to be the one to jump thru hoops, to make Noah happy all the time? Why should he feel like someone's watching him all the time (ICE, the plot device) whenever he wants to spend time alone with his boyfriend?!
I'm glad that he confronted Noah and the plot device about his true feelings with the situation.

From what I read on the liveblog, today needed a train photoshopped in entry. Just... oy! This is why I am currently turning to the DeRo back story on Gabi's blog and the fabulous actors who portray DeRo so I can see REAL angst instead of this trumped up shit TIIC are trying to pass off as drama. I mean, Luke leaves when he sees Ameera lurking outside the bedroom door when what he should have done was open the door and say "CAN I HELP YOU OR DO YOU JUST WATCH TO WATCH?". Gah, I am back to caps lock of rage. I guess I better bust out the Moscato when I watch it on my DVR tonight. dkellergrl, it's past time for not only Luke to be sick of this shit but for Noah to put Luke first and fight for him instead of freaking the fuck out over a situation he trapped himself in due to being chivalrous and STUPID.

Hell to the Yay.I love Noah. I really do, but he's got to start showing Luke (and the audience), that he can be 'strong enough' for him as well. This "Ameera situation/plot device" is completely different from when Luke was in the wheelchair, during the aftermath of his father's attempts to kill him. dkellergrl, it's past time for not only Luke to be sick of this shit but for Noah to put Luke first and fight for him instead of freaking the fuck out over a situation he trapped himself in due to being chivalrous and STUPID.

Okay, I just watched today's episode and to be honest: I loved it... *ducks for cover* I loved the Holden/Luke conversations, the Ameera/Luke talk, the bedroom scene and most of all: the good acting... (Thank you Van for making this bearable! ) The things I did not like: Ameera's little smile when she put back her stuff in the bedroom after Luke left (Ameera -> ) and the fact that Luke turned 180 degrees in a split second. O, and the 'Honey, I'm hooome!' line ->

O, and the 'Honey, I'm hooome!' line -> I've still got 3 hours before I am off work and probably 6 hours til I can sit & watch it since I am hitting the gym after work. Honestly, your post is the first I've seen that doesn't give today's episode a middle finger. What I don't understand is why Ameera moved back in considering she'd moved out to let Luke stay there so why didn't she just stay out? This O B V I O U S discrepancy between her words and her actions ought to be a red flag to the boys but I see they're both still sipping from the same TOO STUPID TO LIVE cup of kool-aid.

Maybe they made Luke's hair darker to make him look more like his parents.

I am still feeling hostile about yesterday's episode. Crap writing and whiplash execution is not a good combo. I wanted to feel badly for Luke but all I could think is that he gave his ok for Noah to marry The Plot Device. It's hard to be sympathetic to stupidity that stunning.

Meanwhile, Noah continues to attain new levels of stupidity. Why do both guys seem to feel a chronic need to drop whatever they're doing in order to console her whenever she's upset about something (which is most of the time)? More to the point, why is it that when Ameera decides to have a snit it's perfectly okay for her to roam the streets of Oakdale alone and Noah thinks nothing of her needing space. But whenever he and Luke try to have some quality time she's physically unable to move more than 10 feet away from Noah and he doesn't question it? Meanwhile, as if to prove he's dumb as a rock, Noah is deciding not to bother with his creepy Dad's rather suspicious remarks about Ameera or suspect that there's something Ameera is hiding from him! This is after the highly suspicious fact that Col Mayer knew Ameera's cell number, which Noah picks up on but then just casually accepts Ameera's claim that she has no idea how he got it! My God, he's whipped and she's not even doing him! He just makes excuses for Ameera all the time. Luke is an idiot for putting up with this guy!

Noah was so in the front seat of the shortbus today that I had to walk away from my TV a few times cause I was so irritated. Then again, every time that I have hope the Luke's brain is firing on all cylinders, he blows two and comes up short. And the part that I bolded IS WHAT MAKES ME SO ANGRY. [glow=red,2,300]I hate hate hate hate hate this storyline so much. [/glow] Ok, seriously, was Luke's hair meant to be comic relief? Cause his hair today was just AWFUL. "Gotta Go Back In Time..."

There was definitely at least twice in this episode that a kiss could've been very happily welcome...I mean, it was set up, but I'm not surprised it didn't happen. *sigh*
As much as I didn't like how Luke behaved the last episode for various reasons I don't think anything was solved by him running back to Noah. Noah was all happy making pancakes with his wife when he should've been the one to go to Luke. Whatever.
Anyone else think the Colonel and Ameera are a bit creepier than creepy? I'm almost suspicious that there's past...history between them other than what we know. It's just...the scene was slimy-tastic.
I really can't add anything to how clueless Luke is...and Noah more so. Everyone else has added their feelings on this and I must agree even for soap levels their stupidity is horrendous. The trust they've given Ameera after so many things not adding up is something I wouldn't even give a loved one I've known all my life. I get that Luke sometimes doesn't fall on the bandwagon of noticing the obvious around him (*cough*Damian*cough*), but Damian was ten times the conniving villian Ameera is...except Ameera just bats her pretty eyelashes and gives the boys her doe-eyed stair and she's got them.
I want this storyline over...I get this is a soap that often feeds off melodrama and over-the-top thrills, but this is just lame.
I can get crap-tastic storylines from Dante's Cove, but at least on there I get hot, naked men who actually kiss and do all the things I want hot, naked men to do on my telly.

I'm not going to comment on the storyline, because we all know that's a disaster... And Luke's hair? They've got to be joking! What was up with that hairdo...? (And Van can look soooo nice... ) But to trow in a positive comment: I really liked Jake yesterday! At first (way back in the summer of 2007) I thought he was cute but not the best actor in the world, but he's definitely gotten better since he began.

I could see the demure Muslim girl routine working on straight guys. She is hot and has turned the art of shyly lowering her eyes into an art form.
But I was under the impression that Luke and Noah are supposed to be gay. Aren't they supposed to be treating her like a life size Barbie doll, tarting her up in sexy attire and dragging her out to party? Do I have to send Nuke a copy of To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar?
The way she's got them eating all this bull is sickening. Noah was briefly intelligent enough to wonder how his father knew Ameera's cellphone number, but then dropped the question when she put on her tragic act. Luke, of course, was running on only one cylinder by that point because if I were him I'd be searching for her and Noah's family plan cellphone bill to check for calls to/from the prison!
Speaking of Luke, is it me or does he not only have bad hair, but is he looking gaunt? Honestly, he looks a little bit ill. I suppose this might be a side effect of of being in a pointless relationship but he really doesn't look well. Or is Van dieting for a part?

I am still feeling too hostile to adequately state how bad I thought Tuesday was, though better than the Luke moving in then moving out whiplash episode.

So I just watched th May 12th episode. It was like a plane crashing in to a train. What the hell? Noah saying he doesn't know how to do better... he couldn't really be doing any worse at this point. I am firmly in Lucinda's corner here especially when she told Luke that in his shoes should would never have given the ok for her man to marry someone else. This storyline continues to get more stupid and I didn't really think it was possible to have a lower nadir point, but I was wrong. Ok, I think TA is a pretty girl. That said, her acting has not impressed me. She's still ok with her facial expressions but that flat delivery kills every single line. When Ameera was mouthing off to Luke about the phone call I actually laughed cause her delivery was so monotone and inflection-less that any attempt at menacing or bad girl was completely lost.

You know, normally I wouldn't really mind as much, because I really do feel that Nuke is solid in their relationship and that it's just the typical soap drama. Except on a normal show you sit through stupid stuff like that because they payoff is supposed to make it all worth it. But as long as Nuke potentially doesn't get to kiss, let alone do more than kissing, how could there be any satisfying payoff?

I was reading this commentary on last week's ep, www.soapcentral.com/atwt/scoop.php?section=twoscoops, and this person has a point, though there is a lot wrong with the storyline, that the third person is female is definitely the biggest proble: I read that there is a threat of more Noah/Luke this week but it's not known for sure if they will be on again this week.

But is he really questioning his sexuality? So far all Noah has done has been about how he is not attracted to Ameera and upfront about it. Sure he is letting this mess up his relationship with Luke, but not for romantic or sexual reasons. It's kinda like those storylines where a couple breaks up and the third person is a relative who one partner spends too much time with.
I will however agree that the storyline is dead boring and that it would be much spicier if they triangled with another guy.

It's kinda like those storylines where a couple breaks up and the third person is a relative who one partner spends too much time with. I will however agree that the storyline is dead boring and that it would be much spicier if they triangled with another guy. That part I also disagree with in the column. The one thing Noah isn't doing is questioning his sexuality. Thankfully he knows and accepts that he is gay *evil eyes Deniz Oeztuerk* and has even told Ameera such. I also read in an interview with Jake S. that he plays Noah as gay, not bi or confused. So there is that good news that TPTB are sticking to their guns there with having Noah stay gay and not question his sexuality. But I firmly agree with the columnist that having a female as the 3rd part of this triangle was a piss-poor idea. I've thought that from the moment I first heard that this character had been created but I'd hoped in vain that I would be proven wrong that her arrival would be a disaster. However, this storyline is DOA and needs to either be completely rubbished or re-vamped cause it's really not working as it is now.
