Perhaps they will leave together and there will be a happy end. Felix does a lot of various things, film, theatre, being in a soap may have interfered with that.

Felix leaving is very sad news, however it doesn't mean Alex will leave too.. Felix says in his interview: "Yes, it's true. I'm leaving GZSZ, but not that fast. I'll be in front of the camera until at least the end of June and you'll still hear a lot from me!" That could mean Lenny is staying and we'll hear about Carsten from other characters.. and, you know, on Soapworld never say never !  |

I'm just crushed at this. When I see Felix in New York next month I'm going to do my best to try and change his mind. It's way too soon-- Cenny hasn't even become a couple yet! Maybe he thinks being on a soap doesn't leave enough time for other projects, but this type of role only comes around every so often. Where else can he find an amazing, international fan base like us? |

Well, we all know that Alex wants to leave and Carsten probably was just brought back, because he was a means to an end for Lenny. Carsten was never really developed as a real character, he never had a real story of his own besides the Cenny story... I think Juli said that last night... That's not exactly true. They could use and develop Carsten without Lenny. The actor is popular, the character is popular, and he is linked to other characters.
Maybe it's they just don't know what to do with him. But in my opinion it's just a waste of a good character, the same way it was a waste when in Holyoaks they killed Kieron.
I think than i'm not the one that finds Carsten (even with the lack of development) more interesting than lenny (and to be honest i think Felix is way better actor than Alex)

 I'm really sorry Felix will leave the soap, because as you say, he's popular, plays a beloved character, and is a terrific actor. But since Lenny and Carsten are in their way to become an epic couple, I think it would be very hard for GZSZ to keep just one of the actors. That's why I thought they would recast Lenny in order to keep Felix for the reasons you mentioned. But sadly, we'll lose both guys...

That's my problem with almost all this shows, they don't develop gay characters, they develop couples, they treat them as an item, and that make a lot more difficult find new storylines when they become a couple.
And my other problem is that when one leave the show they other leave it too, or just stay but they don't give him nothing to do till he leaves too.
Well, and my final problem it's that usually, the end of a gay storyline means that the show ends without any gay character
I really hope that Felix leave the show because he has other projects not because Alex departure, because if they let him go just because Alex leave, they are making a big big mistake

That's not exactly true. They could use and develop Carsten without Lenny. There's a lot they could do with Carsten's character, but until now they haven't. Carsten hasn't had a story of his own; he's kind of just in a supporting role for Lenny's story. It's sad, but true. He has a jackass father; an awesome, hospitalized grandma; asshole ex-friends; friendships with Lucy and Dominick; an enemy in Emily; and other things they could use to build up his character and give him something to do. Everything except another love interest, which could come in time. I don't know whether Felix is leaving of his own accord (to pursue other interests) or because Alex is leaving (and the producers don't need him around anymore). Or whether it was mutual. I'm sure they will both do well in whatever role(s) they take on next, but I'm just hoping now this story will be wrapped up nicely. Isn't that the curse of a lot of soap couples? Once they get together, they don't have much to do (aside from breaking up and getting back together )? I guess that's somewhat unique for gay characters. It takes longer to build a believable relationship between an established gay character and a new one. They can't pair up with just anybody else. The producers/writers either have to introduce a new character, or turn an existing one gay, which takes time and may or may not be believable. Agreed. |
