Thanks aldebaran, I'll be waiting till then!
HERE'S THE ENGLISH VERSION OF THE ADAM INTERVIEW WITH JO:
Forbidden Love has something to look at again: Jo Weil (30) returned to the ARD- Soap as the bisexual Oliver. He received standing ovations for appearing on stage in drag. How does this charming man live privately? Relationship, kitchen, solace: Would he pass a fidelity test? Jo Weil exclusively in ADAM.
After five years back on the screen daily: How much did you miss the soap?
'Miss' might be a big word. I wasn't lying at home thinking: I have to do a soap again at all costs. But when the casting request came, I was very happy. I love my job. The advantage of being on a soap is that you get to work all the time. That's great.
You already played bisexual psychology student and barkeeper Oliver Sabel from 1999 - 2002. He ended up working as a steward on a cruiser before returning home now. What will happen?
Olli is still bisexual. He didn't miss out on anything in those 5 years. He's more mature and tougher. He used to be a cutie who you could do with what you wanted. Olli became a man about town. He wants to have fun in life and take every opportunity, also sexually- with men and women. But there comes a point where he falls in love and ends up in a dire situation.
A lot of people identified you with the character back in the day. Did that ever get to you?
It never really got to me. But is it difficult once your realize some people take this at face value. On the other hand it's quite the compliment they really buy it and believe that this is how I am.
Are you being recognized on the street again?
It's incredible. It's more extreme after only 4 weeks than at any time when I was on air every week with MEDICOPTER 117. I feel like I'm being watched closely, when I walk through town. But I didn't change my life because of that.
You did drag very successfully at the Komoedie Duesseldorf. The play is called 'Ganze Kerle', an adaptation of a Canadian play, in which five men do drag to help a sick child get medical care. You'll be touring from September 21 - October 31, 2008, too.
That was one giant firework! We never had a day without standing ovations during the entire run. Some people came four, five times just to have a good time. Danny Costello, of Berlin's Friedrichstadtpalast, did the choreography and managed to turn a non- dancer like me into something that's vaguely reminiscent of Liza Minnelli.
Gay actor Matthias Freihof, who will be appearing as SS- commander Himmler alongside Tom Cruise in VALKYRIE, directed. How did you get together?
I met Matthias Freihof, we talked for a long time about the play and our lives. The chemistry was right. So we said: Okay, let's try this.
Jo, you look better with 30 than ever before. How do you experience becoming more mature?
I like seeing a certain experience of life in people. Or know from looking in their eyes that someone knows what they're talking about and experience something in this world. I know I have a completely different horizon now than I had 10 years ago.
What's the secret to your sex appeal?
(laughs) I think it would be horrible if I spend all day thinking how the world sees me. I try to be me. Maybe I've had genetic luck that I don't seem to age as much as others.
Do you live in a relationship?
Yes, I'm already spoken for.
Are you a relationship person?
Hmm, I wouldn't say that. I try to be. Living a relationship isn't easy. But we've been together for four years. That's an accomplishment for me. I'm proud of that (laughs)
What character traits does a partner need to have for you?
In any case they need to be reliable, loyal and honest.
Would you pass a fidelity test?
Yes, I'm sure of that. I don't hate anything more than dishonesty. I think you can't promise that nothing will ever happen that you may regret. But I expect honesty. If a partner owns it and says 'this and that happened to me, I'm sorry', I can forgive that, because I know I'm not free of errors. (He knocks on wood). I can only knock on wood, until now I was good at combining this.
Isn't it hard to be steadfast with the daily come ons you get as a soap star?
When I realize somebody only likes me because I'm on TV, I'm not interested. I think that's pretty unsexy.
Do you still like cooking as much as you used to?
Yes, I find that very relaxing. I love to have friends over and cook a meal for them. Have a little restaurant on the side later on, that would be something.
I've read that your big dream is to travel across Canada in an RV. What are you escaping from?
It's not an escape. It's a plan for an adventure. I try to realize that plan this summer in Vancouver. I just think it would be extremely exciting to be traveling through this reclusiveness alone or with a second person, seeing bears and be alone with this overwhelming nature, taking a deep breath and knowing I could scream here and nobody would care. Experience this solitude as an adventure.
You could do that on your own?
I have no problems being alone. I think that's one of my strengths. I've learned that, it's part of the job. There's always stages where you are all alone in your hotel or you're at a different place for a longer time and don't know anyone. I can enjoy that! I find it important to retreat every once in a while. To be traveling through the wilderness without a plan, without having to pay attention to anyone else, just to be drifting, I think that's cool. I trust my destiny.
