I see that the joke is going awry (though I didn't mean it like that), so I guess I should take it back...

I'm just crossing my fingers that he has a longer contract/decides to extend his contract. He joined in Novermber 2006, right? Just worrying that he has an initial two year contract.

I'm just crossing my fingers that he has a longer contract/decides to extend his contract. He joined in November 2006, right? Just worrying that he has an initial two year contract. I don't know how things work in TV show contracts, but it would be nonsense to quit VL now. He got a fame that couldn't hope for a few months ago. If he just acted in a love story with a woman, he would be probably known inside Germany only, or a bit more. The gay romance made him (and Jo, of course) famous all over Europe and also overseas, and he has proved to be a great actor. ARD should take all that into account. Besides, for what I could understand from the interview, he has a lot of fun doing this job! Unfortunately, I'm aware that it doesn't mean that Chris and Olli will be a couple for ever...

I don't know. Most soap actors get ambitious and usually try to leave at the height of their "fame" (of course fame is relative in this case) to try out other things. Wasn't it similar for Andreas Stenschke who played Ulli? Tom and Ulli were very popular. They got together during new year's eve 2000 and Ulli left in September 2000.
Of course I hope it doesn't happen in this case and that he gives us at least another two year run ;D
That said, even if he were to "only" stay till November 2008 that's still a whole bunch of months and episodes.

Well, obviously I didn't follow VL at that time. Seven more months of O&C would be great, of course! But is it likely to happen? I've got some doubts... I really really hope I'm wrong!

I'd say enjoy it while it lasts, this worrying that it will end one day because nothing lasts forever just does not make sense to me

I only know because I looked it up myself ;D
I don't think that 7 months (or even a bit more than that) is that unrealistic thing to wish for. It seems to me that *if* the writers like a couple they have done it before. Now we just have to hope that they do like them and will come up with something good for them ;D

I'd say enjoy it while it lasts, this worrying that it will end one day because nothing lasts forever just does not make sense to me I agree. Especially on soaps, nothing last forever so I figure just enjoy the ride while it's good cause it'll crash eventually. There is always a crash. I just hope that when it does happen, it's as well done as the love story build up was and not a completely horrific trainwreck like "my" couple on AWZ.

I agree too... There's never a 'happy ever after' on soaps; couples fight, break up, cheat, etc. In the best case scenario they get back together in the end; if they're lucky... (Before it all starts again... ) You just hope they write it well; like Bonobochick said. (I really liked the JP/Craig ending for example; I personally thought it was well done.)

(Before it all starts again... ) You just hope they write it well; like Bonobochick said. (I really liked the JP/Craig ending for example; I personally thought it was well done.) JP/Craig had a great ending that made sense. It was heartbreaking but you understood why they couldn't be together. I think most folks who watch soaps/serial tv have couples they love together that break up but if it's done in a plausible manner, it's easier to swallow than if it's some random WTF, dumb shit scenario (oh hey, AWZ!). I definitely want a few months to enjoy Ollian together before it inevitably derails. I think right now the couple doesn't have a plausible reason to break up, but when the signs start to pop up, it will be time to prepare for the angst. I hope that the writers with give Jo and Thore - and since it's his thread I will say ESPECIALLY THORE - some meaty material to work with.

Some of you know I didn't say only good things about Thore, especially about the acting ( gaydaytime). The first times I saw him (Christian was with Coco and was afraid about Olli sexuality), I think Oh My God... The acting was awful (every time he talk, or move you think about an "actor" who play ... not a character). But now, I think he really "is" Christian, every time I see him, he seems better than the day before. It's amazing. At the beginning, when they were together Jo seems to be a "great" actor, now I watch VL for Thore and in second place for the story line. Great job Thore, you have a new fan ;D Alex Personnal message to GDT, orange shirt is good, but far for my favourite....

YAY for VL ;-) the orange shirt is FAR from my favorite outfit for him (haha, christian's best look is within the last minute or so of the april 4 episode ;D )- but it's a great recurrent theme... no matter what happens to ollian, we'll always have the orange shirt

Oh, and I still prefer Dennis Grabosch, but I can love 3 men at the same time, in order : GDT, Dennis, Thore Good taste, isn't it?

There have been new pictures added to the Thore fansite... Thanks susurrus! Very nice photos! Yes, Jo and Thore are really good friends, they have a lot of fun together! Just like teenagers! This is my favourite one: They look like the whole world is under their feet. So hot! Or like Italians say: "Troppo fighi!" ;D

Does anyone know how Thore's English is? I was just about to write him, but I couldn't find any mention on his fansite of language skills.... Thanks for your help!

His official agency website lists French and fluent English has his languages: www.sascha-wuensch.de/TSchoelermann.htmI don't think that it's that unrealistic. Most Germans learn a lot of English in school and even though Thore mentioned not being much of a student, English is the kind of thing you probably should know as an actor. Basically, most Germans speak some English and being actors should ensure that they are decent enough at it. I think you are pretty safe in writing in English to him.
