Bubble Bath Sebastian and Lydia: www.youtube.com/watch?v=3BvRp_GQ77s Sebastian looks fairly ridiculous surrounded by all those bubbles. But I liked when she was combing his hair.

B-Chick - I know. I don't get 'that look' at all and I thought that certain type of 'preppy look' was over in the late 80's. I went to high school with guys that wore that look every single day. I hated it then. I hate it now. We've had to live through something of a resurgence in 70s inspired fashion and hairstyle, maybe it's just the 80s turn? Oh, gosh, I hope not. I had to live through the 80s once. I'm not sure I want to do it again. For me it was called jr. and sr. high school.

OMG Lydia & Sebastien in the bathroom That is just soooooooo not right I know what you mean. I was feeling like it was ever so slightly defiling of Olli and Christian's bathroom. Well, I suppose not really, but still.... Definitely nice. I wondered if he had been sent to the castle dungeons or something, and was being made to live as one of the manservants. But I don't think I'd complain too much that he's doing something that the servants should be doing.

Well I finally had time to look at the episode www.youtube.com/watch?v=joV8WXOoYkg(1) Aside from Lydia's family it starts out with almost only castle scenes. Pretty neat. (2) There must be some wires crossed in my head because I look at Rebecca and Constantin yelling at each other and wonder how long till they end up in bed together (3) I have to say that this is the first time that Rebecca, Sebastian and Constantin, in their scenes together actually came off believable as aristocratic brats.

Okay the relevant relationship is that there is Adrian the villain. Constantin is his son and hates him, while Adrian thinks that Constantin is nothing but a loser.
Sebastian and Rebecca meanwhile (yes, Rebecca of future Grebecca) are sort of Adrian's foster children (no blood relation) and idolized him because he helped their family so much and paid for their education. Rebecca still idolizes Adrian, Sebastian goes back and forth (usually depending on whatever the plot requires; He loathes him because he knows what Adrian is capable of but then gets sucked in by Adrian's manipulations again on occasion).
::::
Now the Lahnstein connection they have is less relevant and more complicated. Constantin is the son of an affair between Lady Lahnstein and Adrian. For a long time it was believed that Lord Lahnstein was his father.
Lord Lahnstein had a brother who ran off with a chamber maid and was therefore disinherited. Sebastian and Rebecca are the children of that brother. It is assumed that Adrian helped out the brother of Lord Lahnstein intentionally because he hated the old Lord Lahnstein and wanted to create bad blood between the brothers. When Sebastian joined the show he originally hated the Lahnsteins because he felt that they had thrown out his father.
I kinda wish Ollian had been in this episode. It was really well and snappily directed/edited. I read about it on the German forum and sort of didn't believe that it could make that much of a difference, but it was really noticable. Somebody smart up there must have realized that it is a good idea to keep the Katja scenes really short.
It's almost comical how much Adrian and his son Constantin loathe each other. Adrian will die if Constantin doesn't donate his kidney to him. So Adrian calls Constantin to his bedside. Gives this real moving speech where he admits he is a bastard and apologizes to having treated Constantin like dirt. [silence] Constantin: Yeah, I'm not buying it. Adrian: And here I was hoping I could build on your stupidity like always.
Oh Adrian.

I missed the last part of the show, but this sounds funny and really them. ;D So, if I'm correct: Constantin and Rebecca aren't blood related. Maybe a future option?

Yepp, not blood relation. So the road is free for future hatesex. It's too bad that VL seems fairly inflexible with pairings. If their mind is set on Grebecca they will probably do that at all costs.
Considering that Constantin and Rebecca actually seem to be having chemistry, makes me wonder what might have been if they might have gone for Rebecca/Constantin and Gregor/Judith (Judith and Rebecca are the same age anyway so it's not like it would make much of a difference).

Well, if Adrian thinks Constantine is a looser, that must make Adrian the real looser, and this proves it. What a manipulative, self-important &$%#@.

Gregor / Judith doesn't work for me - they're characters just don't connect on a romantic basis. How about Gregor / Rebecca and Judith / Constantin allowing Constantin & Rebecca to be hanging around at No-Limits and the Ollian apartments - sparking chemistry at one another till one day - bam (forbidden love)

The relationship is actually quite interesting because normally Adrian is a really smart cookie who will manipulate everything and everyone. Which makes his open loathing for Constantin (and open worship for Leonard) so unusual because it's just illogical. He doesn't even bother to hide his distaste for Constantin even if it gives himself a disadvantage.
Gregor/Judith, I don't know. I think I saw some potential when Gregor demonstrated "hand holding" to her in the beard conversation. Besides, I'm sure Gregor could have chemistry with a rock. Ideally, I would much rather have it if they brought on some slightly more age appropriate woman for him. or turned Carla straight for him; or wait, gave Carla a straight twin sister

Or is the fact that it's Constantin make it all right? (I can't believe I'm posting this....)

See, I always felt Ollian should just swap appartments with Gregor since Gregor is single now. I would all be for the Constantin/Rebecca forbidden love if it wasn't for the fact that Gregor was just recently badly screwed over because of a Lahnstein (or pseudo Lahnstein, in fact, Constantin's very own full brother Leonard) sleeping with his woman. It would be kinda sadistic to do the very same thing yet again. Then again, maybe that would be the final nail in the coffin to make Gregor switch teams after all

Just thinking on a different note here regarding Consti - I remember the gigha interview when Thore mentioned that they were thinking of doing a gay storyline amd looked at the cast characters to see which one they could use - wouldn't Consti have been a possible choice - not knowing much of the back story but I would've thought he'd had fewer relationship storylines than Christian did. Maybe it was simpler from a scene filming point of view to have it someone who had more opportunity to become involved with a gay guy i.e wroking in a bar, staying in a shared apartment etc.

Personally, I always felt that Constantin would have been a much more logical choice than Christian. Not that I'm complaining. But only the writers can answer why they picked Christian. Maybe they thought that having one gay Lahnstein (Carla) was enough?
Makes you wonder how tied they were to the idea to bring back Olli back specifically as a familiar face. Because if they already knew that they definitely wanted Olli back of all people then I could picture them thinking that Constantin just wouldn't gel as well with Olli since Constantin is supposed to be yet another bunch of years younger than Christian (he just mentioned that recently that he was preparing for the Abitur with would make him around 18. So 6 years younger than Christian and 10-12 years younger than Olli; and while I have no problem with age differences, I just have a hard time picturing somebody that young being Olli's style; Considering that Olli always used to be the fun loving reckless type it already seems to be a bit of stretch and a very special thing that he would go all sensitive and motherly for Christian, I find it even harder to picture it with somebody even younger and more messed up than Christian, that Olli would be willing to bring up the patience for it).

We certainly wouldn't want him to become a second Arno - pleeaaaaaase! Most of you won' t know about Arno - he's a very embittered character basically thinking that every single Lahnstein is evil from the root. I wouldn' t have minded but he kept telling everybody which started to become somewhat boring Still this time it might be the other way round - like Rebecca having sex with Consti (today it really did look like it might happen sometime!) but realizing the only man she really loves is Gregor after all (and Consti realizing he loves Gregor as well Judith)
